  1. This was the result if the last time that I had a run in with them. That is after about an hour and a half of them thoroughly inspecting, and drooling over, the truck.
  2. We did not find any chunks in the case.
  3. The axle is a Metitor RS23-160 with the driver controlled differential lock. It looks like the previous owner engaged the lock while the truck was still moving. We found metal in the magnets in the bottom of the axle housing and the ends of the locking splines are rounded off. Is this an issue or is it common with this type of air locker?
  4. Before you get to deep into the brakes. Have your mechanic pull all the axles and both centers out so they can be inspected and you can determine how bad the damage is. If the damage is real bad it might be better just to swap the axles.
  5. Don What engine are you running and what is the maximum torque?
  6. I know where there are three 8341's and a 7041.
  7. How are you planning on mounting it? The box is almost 2 feet long then you add the length of the drive shaft and work to get it mounted and the shifter working it becomes a project. I was going to do the same thing but decided to convert my MT643 to a MT653, this added an additional granny gear, and change the rear axle gear ratio to effectively give me a .80 overdrive. Actually the new gears came with a rear frame clip I bought for the air ride suspension.
  8. The original one
  9. That looks like a ready made Condo for him
  10. I have found that dogs are better mousers than cats. I had a Dalmatian that started with possums then destroyed the mouse and rat population and in boredom started hunting birds and stray cats. The advantage of having several dogs is they can hunt in a pack and take down nastier animals that will not leave of there own accord.
  11. A vacation is a way for the wife to spend to much money in a short period of time so you can not spend it on something important like the truck or buying more toys
  12. What did you find in LA?
  13. The GPS said turn here!
  14. I stopped by the Utility Trailer Company corporate office yesterday. I was rather disappointed at there lack of interest. No one took the time to look at the pictures. What is really ironic is that utility is celebrating there 100th anniversary this year and according to the internet they have created a book and video of there history but the staff did not mention this.
  15. They need to fix there online forum. I have tried to sign up several times and they never send me the email conformation. I finally just gave up.
  16. I stopped by a couple of the local trailer repair places and they mentioned it could be an early utility trailer. Since there corporate office is only a few miles away I think I will stop by and see if it is a utility.
  17. How are you guy taking pictures while you are driving?
  18. Here is mine. Simply on one of the tanks. I use this one on trucks that are not equipped.
  19. Yes it is an odd floor. What is Gindy? The metal strips are actually the top of hat channels. They do not hold down the planks. They appear the support the edges of the planks. The planks appear to be screwed down through the hat channel to the trailer crossmember.
  20. Where whey they made? When was the company in operation? Did it get bought up?
  21. Has anyone heard of brown trailers?
  22. If you look carefully in this picture you can see the bolt that is holding the brake lining to the backing. This trailer may be a lot older. I wonder if the 46 in the axle serial number is actually the year?
  23. My mechanic looked at the photos and thinks the trailer might be a WEBB from the mid 60's.
