  1. Thanks for the reply Any thoughts on the vintage or year?
  2. The location of the missing data plate The landing gear is marked Holland Hitch That is an old cast handle
  3. The axle tag reads Standard forge & axle CO Inc. Montgomery Alabama Model A19S C60 LHDA Serial number 5W 46 242 This tag appears to have been trademarked in 1970 and expired in 1993 The Air Can is marked Berg MFG CO Chicago 1783 Y The Spider is marked Hutch Line
  4. I just picked up a 30 foot single axle flatbed trailer. The manufacturers data tag is missing. Is this information stamped anyplace else on the trailer? The trailer looks to be an older trailer. It has 9-20 tires on spoked wheels. The trailer has s cam spring brakes but the spring brake chambers are unlike any that I have seen before. They look like a cylinder and have a built in caging bolt.
  5. Dyed
  6. My truck will not build temperature idling in the yard! I start it, do the pretrip and let the air build. If I am in a hurry I will run it up to about 1000 rpm. On the road I baby it until it is up to temperature. After that it is hammer down.
  7. Sad but so true
  8. I am looking for a couple of Velvac split mirror heads. These are not shown in there current catalog but were original equipment on a Ford F800, 1989 vintage
  9. Pm sent
  10. Yes That brings back memories. I used to get more air. What surprised me the fist time was how soft you could make the landing Could not do it in a winch truck but I could make my shieve truck do it on any heavy box
  11. The ribs of the steel bed are not much more comfortable. A blazer without the back seat, tinted windows and carpet, that was high school. A new Toyota 4X4, a leer top and carpet over the steel bed, that reminds me of college. I had lots of fun in the back of both vehicles.
  12. That used to be normal for us loading stump boxes on the mack roll offs
  13. I have two of the fords a F800 and a FT900 both with the 7.8 and Allison
  14. To bad you are on the wrong coast
  15. I like the trailer it is sitting on Any info on the trailer?
  16. I heard that comment about no evidence of a pre existing fire. I will tell you from my experience as an expert witness that eye witness testimony can be very bad. You need to look at there first statement and only deal with the big points. I can see a car hitting the fuel tank and breaking a fitting off. I wonder if fuel spraying on the hot exhaust would ignite. I had the same thought about the fire rendering the driver unconscious
  17. Polosi gave a speech here in Los Angeles stating that now with Obamacare health care is a right and no longer restricted to the privileged few! This means that those of us that work for a living and have had healthcare are the privileged few! What a croc. I do know quite a few people that are self employed and had there existing insurance canceled due to Obamacare. The best I can figure out is that Obamacare has outlawed the cheap basic insurance that the 20 and 30 year old generation typically has and forced them to buy more expensive insurance to fund the plan.
  18. I like the site for pick ups
  19. The MT643 has torque converter lock up in 3rd and 4th. I have them in both of my fords. When properly setup they are a good trans. I like them when driving in traffic and for parades. But I do miss the two stick.
  20. Build a fiberglass top that attaches to the existing mounted points.
  21. Take your time and keep spraying it with your favorite snake oil, wire brush the surface rust off. When it comes time to remove the nut if there is a lot of thread exposed you can clean up the threads with a die. The big thing to remember is loosen the nut up until it stops moving then screw it back on and clean up the threads and repeat.
  22. Do not forget the US Military Mack's
  23. It still has the light bar so you could run code 4 to deliver the manure and crew
