  1. My B model has a power steering reservoir that looks like that
  2. There are a bunch of Ex UPS CH tractors that have the rear axle cut off for sale at Winrock truck parts near Harriman ,Tn .Check out their website. They have a couple of r models for sale too. Bet you could buy the axle there too. Don't give much for it, the miles will be high .
  3. Years ago the were some AC Bulldogs sitting around there outside. (1970's) When I went back years later they were gone. When I inquired about them I was told the salt air had taken such a toll on them and they had been hauled off. Isn't that a fabulous home.If you guys are in the Sarasota area you should stop and see it. The B-model cannon truck is inside. The name of the home is Ca'dZan if you want to look it up. John and I think it was Mabel Ringling lived there. It is a fabulous estate!!
  4. The Triplex is the wrong transmission for the 300 plus engine. I have the same problem. I have a 237 in with a quadraplex. I will be OK as I don't plan to pull anything very heavy. The engine and transmission are from two different design perspectives.
  5. Cubic yard, so that 3X3X3 Three foot tall , three foot wide and three foot deep.
  6. It was probably built as a gas job. Mack generally built all diesels ending in odd numbers
  7. Welcome, I collect many types of truck memorabilia too. As you can tell I also have a great sandpaper collection that is constantly being worn out too!
  8. I will be going. I will take the camera and share truck pictures with you all. Hoping for some older Macks instead of 2 year old Petes in the pride and polsih! I am slow so be patient with me!
  9. Very Nice. Love the grill!
  10. Got to get comfortable with running the RPM's up to downshift with ease.
  11. I have those brochures.
  12. Check the B model store.about 57.00 dollars for the plate if I remember correctly.
  13. Most b- model sleeper cabs I have seen don't have the window. Does that window roll down ?
  14. I thought tan and white steering wheels were an option for the B-model?
  15. Wow ,I never had a birthday party like that!!!!
  16. I overcharged an old battery a few years ago. It exploded. Wear goggles or cover the battery up.
  17. Are you leaking at the primer pump? I would also tap the side of the fuel injection pump with something like a rubber mallet. Not too hard though.
  18. I will begin the shopping process tomorrow. Thank you for responding. If you still want to respond I will be checking on my post. Thank you Gentlemen!!!
  19. Don't know about you, but I do the work on my Mack as inexpensive as I can. Question being ,is it cheaper to have an alternator rebuilt or just by one at the parts counter rebuilt and exchange? Just like the "Snowman" I got a long way to go and a short time to get there! Also, where do you find the serial number on a 237 ???
  20. I have a 1964 B615. It has a 237 Maxidyne under the hood. I did not do the mechanical work, but I can tell you it is very tight. You can't get your little finger in between the radiator and the front harmonic balancer.
  21. I looked in my old International brochures.According to the sales literature at the introduction of the Transtar II's the engines that were available was Cummins or Detroit. Near the end of the run of that model cat engines were an available option. That model being the Transtar Eagle Brougham.
  22. I am surprised to see the signal switch still intact on a tractor that old. Must have kept it in the hammer lane!
  23. There is a small truck lot on a hill beside the interstate 75 in Mt. Vernon Ky. The owners name is David Thompson. The number is 606 256 4606. He has two Transtar II's right now. There is an ad for one on the Nov/Dec 2012 wheels of time. 4800.00 OBO 290 cummins runs good drive anywhere. I can't get you any good pictures. There is no place to park a set of doubles here. Too far from road to get a passing shot. He has been in business a while. I have seen many nice old trucks set there . He also has a coe pete 362, 300 series Brockway, conventional pete, cabover KW. Maybe more!
  24. Watt's Mack has the cardboard liner. Look for it in the B model store.
