  1. Where does Mack rate their engine H.P. at these days? If I recall they used to rate it at the wheels? Where do other mfg rate the H.P at?
  2. The old guy is getting up there...he's 12 years old and hates going for walks now...
  3. Saw a post on Facebook that Mack was awarded a military contract that extends into 2018... Any truth to that?
  4. Yea...seams kinda high on the sides and up front near the a pillar....the cab I have looks more to scale. My hood looking from the front is a little off but as soon as you look at it from an angle it looks the part....
  5. Pawl.THE SUPERLINER is a friends.....not mine...I'm not sure what color he will be painting it....
  6. I think the superliner cab was made by a different designer... My buddy just got it and he said the cab is not correct. The cab made by CAA52( what I have ) looks more to scale. I don't think he has a superliner hood tho..
  7. Vlad that's a very good start. Do you have these in a cad drawing?....Are the 6 spokes for heavy rears? I know 5 spokes are considered standard rear... Thank you!
  8. Im having a guy reproduce some front and rear spoke wheels for the tamiya semi trucks...he is asking me if i have a good detailed pic of a front and rear spoke assembly...besides seeing them in pictures of trucks on this site does anyone have a good exploded view or detail view of a spoke wheel . My other question....we're spoke size different if you had a 22.5" rim vs a 24.5... I'm not real info savy with spokes and their diffrence in size...if I'm having the guy make these so i want it to look correct and make it so all the standard tamiya tires will fit the rim... Thanks for your help.
  9. If you have a good model of it like a die cast... You can contact a designer to scan and make simple changes....that's how people do it on shapeways....this 3d printing stuff is awesome....
  10. Very cool....you will have a truck that stands out from the rest with the dual air cleaners....
  11. That looks pretty good. How hard was it... Did you brace the inside?....driver side kick vent still usable?....let us know!
  12. It's about 1/13-1/14 kinda stuck in the middle. The tamiya trucks are 1/14 this cab is 3d printed to fit that scale. PZ....I was thinking of making a snow plow but I have somany other projects going on. I saw a guy make one and it was pretty seeing him push thru a scale 4' of snow. 84Superdog....,go to shapeways.com Type in Mack in the search box....look for designer CAA52... He has all the R model parts...tell him I sent you...he is also working on making some spoke Mack rims for me... Here is some updated pics . Been working nights but had some time this week to work a little more on it.
  13. Got my 6 wheeler in paint... Almost ready for clear coat. Meanwhile my RS700L cab, hood and misc parts showed up today
  14. Had no clue they made buses in the 80's.......wonder if leg room was an issue? Cough ...R model.....cough
  15. That was great... Would love to see the look on the face after the "fix" was noted
  16. We always sprayed them down with wd40 or PB....the water, dirt, salt,,, just makes them stick over time....try that first. May want to put some vice grips on the pin and see if you can brake it free....that can be a big part of the problem as well....
  17. Here is a Globeliner.I converted into a cruiseliner. It's sitting on a king hauler frame and I made the cab into a set forward axel and slanted rear wall... The overall bunk size is too large but it is looking the part to the untrained eye. I have battery boxes and air takes yet to install.
  18. I joined a gym about 5 years ago..... Been there 5 times, but the weight never came off? I don't think it's working right?
  19. By the way I already ordered a RS700l cab and hood for my next project.... I started a RS700 cab and chassi years ago but this 3D printing blows away the time it takes to scratch build. I have a spare frame to build it on but it was a cab over frame so I will need to stretch it out to 206 " like my 1:1 truck is
  20. I thought about that but then I need to upgrade my radio to get more channels....some guys like the airplane transmitters with all the toggles and 2 sticks but I hate them when used for cars or trucks etc.... I sw a set up where the gate auto locked when the box just about got to the resting place... Poked like it worked good and No servo was needed. I may try that route for now...
  21. Cab is made by shapeways..http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=Mack&s=0#more-products .just in the last year people have been building more cab options....this cab is a late 60's version but now people have made the +3 cabs, superliner, valuliner, grills all sorts of cool stuff...it's not ready to paint out of the box. Detail is all there but sanding is needed then a good coat of primer build and more sanding. It's better than resin but needs work before paint. It strong and slightly flexible. Looks like its made out of the same plastic PVC is made from? Al .....cab and hood will be green with black nose..silver box...almost like your BCR. The frame is black now but may paint it red down the road. Larry .....I used a cheap 4 channel radio from rc4wd....I use the 4th channel,3 position switch for the transmission shifting, So much better control for shifting..no more gear scratching! If you buy the end point adjustment you just dial in the servo for the 3 shift points and you will shift like a pro.. the 3rd channels 3 position switch is for control of a 2nd speed controller that operates the dump bed. The controller and RX was $85 if I recall...best part is its a rc car style transmitter with a steering wheel ,not the bulky Airplane style.
  22. Been working on this thing on and off for a few years.... Finally got it running and everything works, It's got a 65 turn motor with 3 speed transmission. Scratch built box with a screw drive lift motor. 3d printed cab and hood New drive shafts and locked rear axels. I plan to put it on spoke wheels with a more aggressive tread tire. I can fill the box full of salt and spread it on the driveway. Neighbors look at me like I'm nuts! Need to make a tail gate and figure how I will have it automatically lock as the box lowers... Quick vid of the box operation https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zHxKNvnE-BI
  23. As always... great info...... Thanks for sharing
