  1. Yea never seen the seat skirt before. That's rare...
  2. Just measure from center of front axel to center of tandems. Looks like its over 206" which is what I have, and I would like about 20" more just so when I put a bunk on I have good deck space left.
  3. Would have to find a junk cab and cut it out. Very rare to find a nos panel that was just sitting on a shelf in a garage.
  4. When did the Cadillac burn up? I saw it about 4-5 years ago running thru Chicago..
  5. I have one for a 65 caddy...will that work? Welcome to the zoo!
  6. That's parked next to dans duck truck... Wonder if it's his?
  7. Getting more power is easy, keeping it all bolted together is not so easy. A simple $400 pump re calibration would get you another 75hp-100hp. But your fuel mileage will suck and you would have to feather the throttle As the power would be like a lite switch.. This extra power will stress the pump, injectors, and internals. Not to mention more smoke and higher egt when lugging.
  8. need some new Fuel filters? look there first.....cheap and simple to replace!
  9. New Egypt.... That's where I picked up my 12 speed...
  10. I can't see... Are the head lights on?
  11. Love the red interior...never seen it before...
  12. Lol.... Damm auto correct! Derizen and heil were pretty popular as well... I see a lot of aluminum Mac trailers lately. And Cora's steel trailers they Seam to be knock offs of other popular mfg. See a resemblance? http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3531147 http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3863349 One thing that I did with newer end dumps was an air ride with a 1/4 frame. That thing rode so nice. Not as much bucking stable on the dirt. And the bags dumped when the air gate was opened.
  13. Trent Blasco. Let me know who you are, where your from screen name.... ie BMT..... as I might not know you by name.
  14. cant say I see any Palmer but a hilbilt frameless was pretty much the norm for 20 years, Mongoose 1/4 frames are also popular. The hilbilt frameless spring ride was a no frills all business trailer. Easy to maintain and parts were easy to find. Worst issue with them was the ladder style frame on the under side. Rust just eats those tubes and the welds cracks away from the floor.
  15. First truck I ever drove when I was 14. Took it up I-55 then down Cicero ave after the driver said I should try. RS700L 285/6speed, ex Alaska pipe line truck.
  16. Axel and hilbilt pretty much ruled Chicago end dumps.
  17. I think ups ran them. Not common but they are out there.... What year and model truck?
  18. My advice is wash them and go spray the whole truck down with diesel. You have to get that motor moving before things rust beyond repair. Sounds like a pita...
  19. January 2nd 2001, My first trip driving the race hauler ant the new job. Was heading south on I-65. Was 8pm and was about 20 deg out with fog, I was don't about 45-50 mph due to poor visibility came around a bend in the hi way to see there was a cop car in the median, with lights going, about a 1/2 mile away. The roadway decended into a valley with a bridge at the bottom. I was in the right lane and a car was passing me in the left. We got about a 1/4 mile from the cop when I see the car that was passing me just start to rotate and now I'm looking at his head lights. I grabbed the brakes and the truck just went quiet, rpm needle went to 0, drives locked up ,im on ice! I pushed in clutch and took it out of gear. That car spun out infront of me and ended in the right side ditch. As I was passing the cop I saw about 3 other cars in the ditch and against the wall of the bridge. I made it passed safely. But for about 20 seconds all I could hear was the wind and my hart racing. First day on the job and almost wrecked a 2million dollar rig.... But I do give myself credit in all my time driving trucks or cars I have not hit anything.
  20. 1st winter I had my rs700 I almost hit a car at a stop light. Was on my way back bobtailing from having rear pads and bushings done. A dusting of about 1/4" of snow was falling. Got off the 55mph roads and onto the 40mph back roads as traction was poor on all roads. I was coming up on a intersection that had been green for a while. Slowed down to about 25-30 mph, got about 300' from the light and it went yellow. I lightly touched the brakes and all 4 rear corners locked killed engine, Let off the brakes pushed in clutch to let them roll and tried agan, the wheels locked again. Seamed like i went faster when on the brakes...Restarted truck jammed it into 4th and let out the clutch, truck started to slow but i was going to stop somewhere in the middle of the intersection. Luckly the side of the road was gravel so i brought the trucks right side to the shoulder and got some traction in the gravel. The truck skidded thru 30' of the gravel then back on pavement where it stopped over the line as a car was crossing thru. i had just a few feet of space untill i was in his lane. If I did not find that gravel it would have been bad news for me. I Had new tires on the whole truck but my truck has No front brakes. That's my dumb ass story of my trucking life...
  21. When we were hauling clay in the winter I would get to the yard at the end of the day, fuel the truck up and then I would spray about a gallon in the box. The next day would go flawless. I had a little pump sprayer with fuel in it that I used for the sides and hoist house in the nose. About mid day I would spray the sides to keep it wet and that box would stay an ice rink all winter long.
  22. Diesel in the box... Oh my...that's a big no no!.... I never did that. Wink,wink...
  23. I normaly just drink straight Jameson and the next day when I take a dump it will slide ........never mind....
