  1. I have driven in a few Pete's that had the seat so I hope my truck has the same feel. I just want arm rest and would like to swap from a hi back to mid back. Right now it hits my speaker when extended. On a side note I was in a truck last week that had the shock absorber removed from the seat. I have to say that it was a real soft ride on normal roads. Just had to much upward travel over big bumps. Absolutely no harsh jabs to your back or legs. It was pretty comfy...lol
  2. Yea I called seats Canada and I just need to give them a part number so they can send me a arm rest. The person on the phone said other no longer make the seat. It's off the market but stoll on their web page?
  3. I just put a eldorado seat in my RS700. Haven't left the yard yet but would like to see how it does. I need to order arm rests or it and it should be great.
  4. I have seen subs in a truck behind the seats but we don't have the room for that. I have pioneer speakers that do just fine but I listen to classic rock and music with little bass. Never been a big fan of big sub vibrations.....hey wait weren't you just trying to get the truck vibration free? Now you want a subwoofer?...wtf? LOL
  5. IMHO just put in the stock size but with good brand speaker. It will blow your ears out sitting that close. If you want more bass just put a sub under the passenger seat. As far as a good head unit. If you like your iPod or other device get a unit with aux ports or blue tooth. Best thing I ever did with a radio...
  6. Camelback has more articulating than air ride. This is why macks can crawl out of extream conditions. Air ride does not have the same weight transfer either. With air ride the ride hight control and corner weight can't compensate as good as with a spring. Only the older new way air ride could slightly compete becase of its larger air bags, spring like articulation and multi leveling valves. The new way is a great heavy haul set up as you can control hight, and reduce road shock. I think that lowboy and otr trucks do better with airide. Dump trucks better with spring. Biggest gain with air is better ride and less road shock thru the trucks frame.
  7. Same to you Ray....and everyone
  8. Frame looks good ,floats on the front,38 rears...think im in love...did you test drive it?
  9. Merry Christmas everyone...
  10. I don't recall ever seeing one in person but heard about them...only saw a old pic on their web page..... What year did they switch to Pete's?
  11. Some of the early square tube brackets did not have that rod. If it's just holding a straight stack it should be fine. Biggest issue you might run into is getting the y pipe up thru the frame rails or around the fuel tanks as you mention. I can see how this might be a pita...
  12. Thats what i thought. To bad.......Got any pics of when Lindahl ran b or r models.
  13. And said did I hear Elmwood is gone? Something about the owner died.
  14. I saw Tom last night at the long grove tavern...didn't know Elmwood had Mack's. Think they run kw's now?
  15. Vinny,The correct answer is...".I like them both."....but that's a lesson for the more....how do you say, experienced ?
  16. If your trans is direct with a 4.88 looks like it was set up for city use. . If you can get to a 4.17 you will have a 60mph truck at 2100 rpm. Just not as much get up and go.
  17. I think glen knows about this trick....hopefully he will see this.?
  18. He was on here talking about it a while back. Think it has some engine issues? Haven't heard about it for a while
  19. If i can ask...What was wrong with the tar paper. Mine has been holding up great for past 3 years, no smell after a few weeks, truck is parked out doors all the time?
  20. I used dynomat on the firewall only, everything els was the foil backed asphalt roofing material that comes in a roll. Dynomat is pricy to do the whole cab in.
  21. Yep did the same thing, rubber paint, dynomat, carpet on the firewall. Also did the doors, rear wall, floor and roof, made it real quiet, still want to make a flat firewall panel that is on the outer cab to further silence the road noise.might even put that hood mat stuff under the hood. . Biggest noise issue on my cab was from the firewall/ steering shaft hole and gear stick holes. Even with my straight stacks It's pretty quiet now.
  22. Your cowl on the rd will be similar to a super liner, a r model is a completely different cowl because of hood lines. Western and value line hoods should interchange, Western, value liner hoods might share the same cowl lines as a east coast r model. Just that the western, valuliner cabs sit up higher. Hood latch of the cowl area vary as well from each model, year, air ride cab etc...
  23. My 77' RS700 has the Fiberglas lower fender. only down side is mud will run down the inner fender wall and get the fender dirty. I need to make a panel that will keep water and mud on the inside. Same with the gab between bumper and front of fender.
  24. I'm the same way! Sounds like a rotational vibration. Clutch, dampener, bad mounts, but almost every r model I drove had a slight vibration at some point of rpm or speed. Might be the nature if the beast?
  25. Did it vibrate before the new injectors?
