  1. im looking for the screw on connectors as that's what my harness is right now. thank you all for those part numbers.. Trent.
  2. Years ago I put a superliner cab air suspension on my truck. during the upgrade i also put R model hood rollers on the cowl. the issue is the driver side of the hood does not make contact with the roller. I raised the rollers 1/2", moved them forward but its still resting the cowl. im wondering if i am missing a part? anyone have a pic of a western mack with the hood / roller assembly? Thank you
  3. still having issues...i installed these gauges in 2012 but never got the right sensing units. mack had sold me one back in 2012 but it was reading incorrect. i just ordered a new sending unit ( part number above) and hope to have it in the oil pan next week to test it.
  4. Yes When I wiggle the toggle I can get the 2 out side clearance lights and fender lights to come on. but as soon as I hit a bump they go out. The center 3 markers headlights tail lights all stay on with no issues. its 100% in the switch but I think its original to the truck. I searched online for the number but could not find it. Mack is almost useless with these old dogs. the numbers are there in the system but the new guys behind the counter have to dig deep to find the numbers. if you find a number I will use it and call mack to see if they have any in stock. it should be a common issue in the old truck world. and still a handfull of R models out there working
  5. volmack number 25006165
  6. 64MT146 was the sending unit number for reference
  7. I talked with a friend tonight about doing just that. a fresh weld of the holes and sanding of the whole panel to remove some of the road scars. its going to be covered with paint so really just need to clean up the area around the holes so It dont look so banged up.
  8. Yes I recall you had them. They did look good. I might just and find some aluminum plate with the similar stock pattern and cut them out. They will be painted flat black just like what I have now.
  9. Good looking Long hood Western. Welcome to the club. Does it have front brakes and Power steering? seams like most did not to keep the weight down. I think my Truck was 15,700 when it left the factory. Rob has a Cat powered RL700L... he has some good info on them
  10. will do... they are fairly rare these days but they pop up once a year on ebay or Facebook market place
  11. Anyone have a part number or know of a aftermarket switch. this is the switch at the top. left-hand corner of the dash. its acting up and causing issues with my marker lights.
  12. Lots of good info Rob. I did not know there were so many variations of the panels.. Mine are pretty beat up. I think they were left lose for many years as each bolt hole is either oval or had broke thru to the edge. The lower fiberglass was rounded out as well so I had to use some Epoxy to fill in the holes and then re drill them. I was going to re mount them with rubber well nuts but the holes are to close to the corners. If you have 2 good used ones you want to let go let me know. not looking for perfect just ones that have good mounting holes.
  13. Yes I did. about 7 years ago or so.... I still have it just waiting to get the truck under shed so I can repaint it and put the bunk on. the bunk needs a restoration as well but it has the dual cutouts already
  14. Thank you... I did not have that sticker on my truck when I bought it. I see both filters and the gasket number thats exactly what I need...
  15. Thanks Rob...Would love to but I want to get the truck under shed before I start fixing it up again. We are in the process of moving. hope to get some property where I can keep all my junk on it and get a shed built to keep a few restored trucks under. its only money as they say LOL. are you still just out side of peoria? I know you were talking about moving but cant recall if you did or not. Im going to springfield for the ATHS show. will you be there?
  16. No truck moved about 6-7 years ago. then again 4 years ago. we moved homes as well. still close to the yard
  17. interesting. I never measured the panels and compared . mine have wallowed out holes in both the hood and the panels. I think they should have made it like the eastern R models.
  18. Just put in my New LED headlights and I noticed when removing my panels that they mount a little diffrent from what I see are sold today. Mine are held in with 4 screws (one at each corner) where the panels I see for sale on Ebay have a tab that sticks out on one side that looks like it locates into a slot and then on the other side of the panel there are 2 screw holes next to the headlight for what I assume is to hold it in place. was there a update to the panels between the Mack westerns and the R models. this is new to me?
  19. is there a 2nd part number . It looks like that was the upper filter number. I need both filters thanks in advance
  20. Im getting her back in shape for the road this season. Its been about 6 long years sense she left the yard for a walk. She needed new tires and a radiator. The radiator I had replaced 2 years ago but it had 15 year old tires on it so never took her out. a month ago I swap to some new/used tread off my old company truck. installed some new LED headlights as I plan on some night runs to a few shows this year. Found some that look fairly stock when off and then can light up the road great on low beam without blinding traffic. Hi Beam I can see 1/8 mile like the sun is out... You can see the comparison in LED vs Bulb. I decided that seeing at night is better than driving by candle light just to claim its more period correct. (why is the pic sideways?) The paint is shot as its spent all 15 years out side in the Chicago weather but she still can turn some heads.
  21. Looking for the correct part numbers for the air filters that go in a Donaldson twin outlet housing . it has a upper and lower filter and I would like to replace them but I cant see a part number on the ones in the truck. Also is there a radial seal upgrade to the standard original style? The Truck Vin is a RS78632474LST its a 77 Mack with a tip turbine engine/ duel outlet housing Thank you for the help Trent Blasco
  22. first look to see if its leaking at the roof vent or A/C unit. My 77 western had a roof mount AC unit and I ended up having to replace the whole roof sheet metal because of the rust issues it caused. if no signs of water from the roof I would suspect the rain rail has rusted out someplace and water is running down the A pillar. I have also seen water get in thru the cowl vent and fire wall with all the cables and such that run thru the wall and dont have properly sized grommets. Driver side kick vent is also suspect as it had s rubber seal when the vent is closed
  23. it says 13'.4" but I see some of the more brave, or experienced sneak under it. the scuff marks tell the truth of your hight LOL
  24. what were her spec's? it was a good looking Dog
