  2. IT HAS Superliner tanks on it and alum rear chunks. red interior, Smells like a fire truck and miss matched parts that was used to make this truck up???
  3. yea that last one is great....thats real deal trucking right there!
  4. yea smoke can be so many things. Is it low on power? you can have bad valve guides, turbo seals, incorrect pump timing, bad injector(s), bad injection pump, worn rings, cracked piston, etc.... best way is to do some basic tests on the engine and pump and hopefully.... or not..... you will find the clue. If these tests dont give you any ideas and if you have time pull the exhaust manafold and see if any of the ports are wet with oil.
  5. great looking R model Love the two tone paint A true work horse right there..
  6. LMAO.....David I think you should help him with this one before its to late....I too enjoy Vlad's posts but you opend this can of worms...... LMAO
  7. yea its the spreading of the rails thats the big concern and hard to fix. surface rust is easy. However if its seeing rust on the surface I will bet that its started inbetween. it would be smart to put some POR15 in and let it soak inbetween to slow the rusts progress. Just my .02
  8. Test drive....?
  9. Look here http://www.hps-siliconehoses.com/hps-silicone-45-degree-elbow-coupler-hose.html
  10. the only possible issue I can see is that the passenger side may have diffrent ramp locations on the hood . this is depending on the air cleaner locations and cut out of the hood.. on My RS700L I have the twin tube intake and think that the roller on that side extends out slightly farther than the driver side. regardless its adjustable so it should work for you....
  11. I think you will be good to go. looks like just swaping the old solid mount bracket out and put the new bracket with the rollers in. then put the ramps on the hood.
  12. that looks like it would work. looks like a early superliner as I can see the cut rod ends for the "X brace" i was talking about last night. It has the cut out for clutch cable and has the rollers where they should be. now you just need the ramps to mount on the hood..
  13. If the cable is hard to turn it will wear it out in no time. That key way is just formed. It should be cast or hardened so it can't spin on the cable end
  14. He has a superliner 1 ( round lights)
  15. You can buy silicone hoses from parts stores. Just need to know the I.d. And angle...
  16. Jealous .... Now i need a super liner to go with my rs700l
  17. I may have a picture of me in a bikini. I may have to post that for ya. ......if your lucky...
  18. Look at the link green dash posted. It has a great day light shot of it..
  19. I forgot they offered that 36" bunk now but lets be honest. If you are stuck out on the road for 2 weeks+ do you think a 36" bunk would cut it? And if you wanted say a 60" stand up it would have to be custom installed. Now your looking at 15- 20k more than a western star, and likely 25k+ more than Pete or kw. I'm not knocking a Titan but if mack wants into the game why am I paying more and getting a lot less. From what I see is todays company's, they don't personaly build up there trucks like the old days. People want turn key units with the options that work for their fleet. Adding lights or some chrome is easy, having to install big bunks not so much. I know titans have there use as day cabs but they completely missed the otr heavy haul market.
  20. Staxx... That's the one... I still have it too. LOL
  21. I agree slpwalker ... Mack wants to play with the heavy haul stuff. Then they better offer the same and more than its competition. The Titan is over priced and has no sleeper option. Pete and kw offer cabs that work better with heavy haul. And are cheaper. I think macks are built better than paccar trucks but lack important o/o options that people request in a truck.
  22. I left there that night around 9pm.I Waited about an hr trying to catch the owner but either he was sleeping or was in the truck stop? Would have asked him to drop the hood for a look but no dice..
  23. Family was in trucking when I was a kid. Had a taste of it early on but my dad and uncle got out in the late 80s. I went to the local DMV one day and picked up the cdl book. 2 weeks later I took and past the test. Walked out the door of the dmv and saw a trucker next to his rig. Just happed to be a R model tractor trailer end dump. I Walked up and asked if I could trade some labor for use of his truck. He called his boss and he said stop by to chat....the next 2 weeks I layed bricks and did labor work for his const company. All for free. Started to get some seat time on weekends . Was doing good. Practiced backing in his yard and rode, drove with his drivers, Then The IL licence for bribes scandal made headlines! I took the skills test the week of the headlines and failed on the pull up test, instructor said I tried to stick my head out the window? Next week tried again, failed for getting out of the truck and not chocking my wheels? 3 rd times a charm I passed. The owner gave me a job driving on weekends to relieve the other 2 guys if they needed time off.. Drove for him the rest of that year until he slowed down and he sent me to work for his buddy, still talk to those guys and thank them for taking the chance on a 20 year old kid.
  24. How do you start your day off if your truck has.a Detroit?......slam the door shut on your hand, now your ready to drive. Enjoy your day!
  25. Remember it well.do you recall the specs? I know it had camelback rears. But did not get to close as It was dark and didn't want to seam i was snooping around and find a crowbar to my head.
