Correct..drain oil and remove the lower countershaft end cap... Then look for splines.. or if lucky you may see the letter "P" stamped into it noting its set up for a rear mount.

Yep.I was down last month for the winter test, weather was great. I Drove the race hauler down last Friday, rode the bike to Tampa airport and hopped on a plane back to chicago. I depart Chicago tomorrow for Tampa again and make my 2hr ride to Sebring to catch the end of the 12hr race. When the race is over I load the bike in the trailer and head back to St Pete to park at a local race shop untill I can get into the INDY car track for next weekends race. All I know is on Sunday late morning I plan on sitting on the beach with big boobs in one hand and a drink in the other! 10-4!

depending on the angles you can get 30,45,60,90 deg fairly cheep in chrome if it was one of the pipes that has lots of bends to get around a fuel tank its a mack part and is $$$ Check grandrock.com they have an online parts book for exhaust. I was able to fab up my custome exhaust from them.

Chicago was pretty dry all Winter. 3 maybee 4 storms that were over 1" but nothing more than 4-5" all season. I was in FL for a week of testing race cars in Febuary and came home to weather I could take the bike to lunch in. This week its Been in the high to low 80s last 3 days. Leaving for FL tomorrow and will have 5 more days of fun in the sun. Will be in St pete Beach with the girl and her friends for the next 4 days. dident even feel like winter and it never got cold! got it at napa or some other auto parts store they are fairly cheep $20-$30 for a standard model bleeder with all the attachments.

I had a car that was impossible to bleed with a helper. I bought the vaccume bleeder and had it done in less than an hr by myself

The mytee vaccume bleeder worked good on the cars I used it on. cheep tool and works great. If I recall I put vaccume on the master cyl thru the cap, put a hose on the farthest brake cyl and hang it in a bottle of fluid, crack open the nipple and the vaccume pulls in the fluid and moves the air into the top of the master cyl, shut the nipple and move to the next wheel. do this a few times and all the air is out.

ditto...I need a 12 speed also... Rob I think it will all depends on your transmission. Yes its a hobby truck but you will pull a trailer someday... some of the Mack End Dumps with 300/ 6 speeds and 3.87 rears were dogs in the top 2 gears and found I needed Low Low alot more. Its a minamal Road speed change but if your heavy and dont have a good selection of transmission gears or the HP to pull. it can be a downfall. If you have a 13 speed and a big cat motor you will be fine as you can just downshift if its lugging or you stick it in OD and get home fast.something us 6 speed owners cant do LOL!!!!

if you have low low in f1st and reverse this may be an early 5 speed? how many reverse gears do you have? for a common air shift 6 speed The mack manual, and sun visor sticker, said to use Low low in 1st gear only. If your on level ground 1st / low low to 1st /direct is an easy shift. However if we use that practice most people (like you mention) found that you had too slow of road speed (in soft dirt) to get the truck from 1/Low Low into 1/direct before she stopped. thats why I mention that I use Low Low in 1-2-3 to get my speed up,then shift the aux box into Direct,If im in hard dirt I drive it like a 5 speed leaving it in Direct. If you start in 2nd/low low that is basicly the same as 1st direct because the road speeds are so simmilar. I cant see why anyone would want to go from 2nd/Low Low to 1st direct as your shift will do nothing to increase your speed or change RPMs? So IMHO the best way I have found to shift out of Low Low is to have my road speed up so the truck wont come to a stop before I try for Direct. The manual thats my .02

The air shift and 2 stick 6 speeds are 1:1. (direct) in 5th gear. I often start in 1st / low low and shift the main all the way up to 3rd. Then put it in 3rd direct, 4th,5th. imo..Nothing wrong with using low low in all gears. I would however suggest that you use caution if you ever try to down shift from direct to low low.. you can split a case if you miss badly..

"Storkmack" has a B?? with a 427 Mack under the hood. it was very tight

spoke to the owner and he does not want to part with the tanks right now. He has a truck still used on the road that has the same style/size tank and wants them for a spare. Sorry but if that changes I can keep you in the loop. There was a wrecking yard in IA that had a few westerns that had the same style tank. they have a website but I cant find it right now...

at the yard they have the western style tank on a valueliner. its the style that has the ends with the 3 rings "bulls eye" think its a 50 gal? if intrested I can get a price for you.. will be gone the next few days so I may be late to reply... Trent

the seat position is fine I just dont like that I cant stretch out. This IH I drive you cant touch the pedals with the seat all the way back. not that I drive like that but boy do my knees like it. But dont worry we will run at your pace and my trailer has a nice comfy couch for you to sleep on at night. you will even have AC/Heat to help forget that days trip.... LOL

Rob... Remind me to ask you again about the leg and rear wall room when we make our trip back from NV this summer... LOL. farthest I have been in a R cab was Boston and back to Chicago...with a co driver. about the same that you will make in 2-3 days We can compair stories...
