No, the oil rich muslims will just buy up the food processing companies so they have a source of Halal food.
-
Exceptionalism? Like health care costs double Europe's with worse results? And life expediencies that rival 3rd world countries? No wonder more Mexicans are leaving than coming!
-
Because you refuse to accept the facts- For example, while Jews and Muslims may be enemies in some parts of the world, here in the U.S. they are increasingly allies and will stand up for each other if they are attacked. As for a war with the Muslim world, seems like it's you guys that want to start that.

The cost of Kosher and Halal certification is peanuts, and the rewards huge... You're letting your prejudices get in the way of good business sense.
-
Here's the facts from your own ABC network: http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/bushtelegraph/halal/5843904 Halal foods are a trillion dollar market, and you don't want Australia to get some of that market?
-
Since when was Kosher or Halal certification a threat to anyone? Are you going to refuse to eat food that is Kosher or Halal certified?
-
I presented the facts, sorry that you can't accept them.
-
Sad to see Australians falling for such intolerance. A lot of mass market foods are kosher and halal certified, and most customers happily consume them and never notice the little certification marks. When you're running a bakery that puts out 4 loaves of bread a second, it's easier to halal and kosher certify everything rather than stop and start the line to produce small quantities of halal or kosher product. The Imans and Rabbis also provide an extra level of food safety inspection that government often cannot.

A lot of new truck buyers still insist on engines larger than 13 liters, and Volvo already lost them. Just as many truck buyers insist on a dual countershaft transmissions they can get fixed anywhere, and Volvo is about to lose them too. Anybody wanna guess how soon Volvo/Mack's combined market share here goes below 10%? -
Guys, when everybody is cheating on hours of service all you're doing is cheating yourselves. If everyone ran legal the freight rates would rise and we'd be making decent wages.
-
So you'd rather they be cheating on paper logs?
-
Why stop at oddball twin 33 footers? May as well lobby for double 40 footers and take advantage of the world's most common freight "box" size.

IMHO, as owner of two TDIs, VW customer service has gone to hell since the settlement was finalized. Driving the '13 TDI down to Florida, I noted vibration at extra legal speeds and sometimes even legal speeds and rapid wear on the inside of the left front tire. Put the new spare on and took it to a VW dealer for alignment... They claim toe on that left front wheel position was just barely out of limits and corrected it. The left rear camber was just barely a bit too negative, they claimed the adjusters were rusted and immovable because the car is licensed in Minnesota and gave me a $1000 plus estimate to replace the upper control arm, adjuster eccentric, and subframe. But the "before" and "after" alignment print outs showed they did manage to move that adjuster... The wrong way! They didn't charge me for their ineptness, but I'm left with almost 4 degrees of negative caster in the left rear and still have no explanation for the rapid left front wear. Given that the car is still within the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty and barely over on mileage, I asked VW if they'd cover part of the costs. I received a firm no. Yes, VW knows I've bought 4 of their cars and am a "customer for life" as well as "evangelist" and they totally blew me off. I'm hearing similar stories from longtime VW TDI customers, who can't even get a VW dealer to sell them a new car at the same time they're turning in their old TDI and make a seamless car to car transition. VW in America seems to be a lost zombie, making no attempt to increase sales beyond near historic lows and recover from the TDI debacle. If this is the best VW can do, they may as well pull out of the Navistar deal so at least they don't drag Navistar down with them.

Ford to Cancel Mexican Plant - Invest $700mm in Michigan Plant

Apparently Mr. Trump has not heard of Opel... -
I'm not sure about the 1st generation Ranger, but on the 2nd generation there are "pockets" in the side of the bed where you can place a 2 by 6 crosswise and carry 4 by 8 sheets above the wheel wells with the tailgate down.

When the cab is longer than the pickup bed, it ain't a truck!

Makes one wonder where they're getting their replacement turbos from...

Ranger & Bronco return confirmed, and a mid size van?
TeamsterGrrrl replied to TeamsterGrrrl's topic in Trucking News
Wish the Ranger was coming sooner, I've got 'til the end of 2018 to take the buyback on my TDI and sounds like the Ranger will be a 2020 model, and with all the alignment problems my TDI is having I may turn it in sooner. Then again, if Ford is holding the Ranger 'til the 2020 model year and the Bronco 'til the 2021 model year, maybe we'll get the next generation? Maybe with aluminum body, a la F series? Then again, the just announced F150 diesel will be out in 2018, and that engine gets 24 MPG EPA Combined in a Range Rover that has at least as much wind resistance and weight as an F150... -

Yup, I wouldn't believe Trump either!

Your using a .5 MOE? No wonder you're not making sense!
-
So you don't like the facts, and want to make up your own?

Census ACS data shows very little U.S. population growth, and mostly from immigration. UN projections show the world gaining maybe another billion population before leveling out in the middle of this century.
-
Your traditional assumptions are increasingly wrong- World population is starting to level off, and has leveled off on every continent except Africa already. That's why the commodity markets are so weak, with reduced consumer demand for "stuff" resulting in commodity surpluses. Throw increased efficiency, recycling, and the trend for consumers to eat less meat as they become more affluent and demand for corn, beans, copper, iron, coal, lumber, oil, and all the other basic commodities is waning.

Waste your hate elsewhere. You don't even know me... I'm in fact fighting the environmentalist's attempt to ban copper mining in Minnesota.
