  1. Don't sweat the petty things...........Pet the sweaty things!!!!
  2. Thom, I'll be at Macungie- you can't miss me, the only FWD truck that's ever been at the Macungie show for the 10+ years I have been going, why don't you stop by and introduce yourself. You can meet my Dad, too. Trust me, his last name does not start with an "M." -But I won't hold my breath waiting for you.
  3. You guys should have waited a couple of days, took it to Macungie (another 10 miles down I-78) and then dropped it at the Museum!!! (or are they putting it into the show??)
  4. No relation. My father was one of the original 12 owner/operators who were working under HJM when he was leased onto Southwest Freight, and then started Jevic. There's more to his involvement but I don't have the time to get into it here. He went into and out of the office on various assignments for about 2 years, and then eventually went in full time, and that's when HJM bought his tractor from him. I myself worked for the Fuel Dept and Operations before moving into the Willingboro Shop full time. Many members here know who I am and who my father is, Thom, and they also know that I only speak the truth. You sound as if you may be bitter about something. Care to share your thoughts?
  5. I saw you guys headed westbound on 78 around the 57 yardstick this morning about 10:00am or so, thought you were arriving early for Macungie. Looked good!!!!!
  6. Clearly you are all fools. That is obviously a left-handed wurlutz harmonizer retention bracket.
  7. From the Macungie exit of I-78 Get on I-78 E/B. Get off at Lehigh Street (same exit you would for the Mack Museum) except when you get to the bottom of the ramp, make a right instead of a left. Go about 200 yards, you'll see the TK, make a left at the traffic light to get into the place.
  8. I started hearing rumors of this late on Thursday and all day on Friday, I held off on posting anything here as I was hoping they were bullshit CB rumors, but unfortunately they are not. It has been made official that New Century Transportation (AKA "Red Jevic" or "Jevic Part II") has filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in business-friendly Wilmington Delaware, and most of the office staff was told to remove personal possessions and leave today. The WARN Act 60-day notices have begun arriving at employee's homes with mail delivery today. All drivers have been advised not to make any pickups, and the driving force is being laid off in stages so as to allow delivery of remaining freight. ESTES Freight will be stepping in to assist and has opened their HR Department to any and all interested NCT Employees with job offers. Now, for anyone who wants to badmouth HJM in the same manner that they did when JEVIC did the same thing, you need to know this- HJM was completely OUT of the game when Jevic went down the shitter. He has NOTHING to do with it. The same applies here for NCT- he has been out of the game and in retirement for 3-4 years now. He does own several pieces of the property that NCT operates on (most notably the Willingboro Shop/Fuel location) as well as some others. Yes he was indeed seen at NCT's Westhampton Corporate HQ this past Friday, however that was in an attempt to negotiate payment of rent that was owed him. And yes. his daughter DID work there, however her current employment status is unknown. HJM is a decent, honest and above all ethical person- who only ever had the best interests of his employees in mind. My father worked with him when he was leased onto Southwest Freightlines out of KCMO back in the day, and then when he started Jevic dad went on board with him and worked for him for 20+ years before HJM was legally REQUIRED to disengage from Jevic. He gave me a chance when I was 18 years old (and even younger then that unofficially......) and I worked for him for 3 years before I became a Career Firefighter. I would gladly work for him again any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Both JEVIC and now NCT's closings are a result of poor management by the venture capital companies that owned them both. Nothing more, nothing less. And both several years AFTER HJM left.
  9. That's the guy that was pulling people out of the mud at Macungie 20.......09 maybe? 2010??? The year it was a frikken monsoon all day Friday and part of Saturday AM......And Randy, that's a radial aircraft engine on the back that runs, too......He fires it up every now and then at shows but he doesn't run it long as the vortex of fuel consumption takes over and empties the tanks of every vehicle within 100 yards.
  10. Jason why don't you just ask Cal Little........BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  11. Wonder if they did any bare bear porn?
  12. How do you find the Jumper's grill? Look for the one with the oil dry under it........
  13. This is the day that any arrogant frenchmen should have to kiss the bare, naked ass of any American in the center of Paris at high noon.
  14. I have a bunch of pic of Walters in a private collection in Circleville, NY that I will post later.
  15. The grill isn't 2-stroke, is it?
  16. Dammit you guys beat me to the "turd" comment...........And as for the Pete emblem falling off, it's a beginning.
  17. "If it has tits or tires, yer gonna have trouble."
  18. That's the "Naughty Librarian."
  19. Are you sure that's a Walter? Looks like an Oshkosh- I thought Walter was out of the game by 1977....???? Old Walters are COOL. They are UNSTOPPABLE especially with that Frink V-Plow on the front. What are the specs? I suppose it has a green leaker? But you might luck out and get one of the many that came from the factory with an L10 Cummins.......????
  20. That top one, Honeypot Fire Co of Nanticoke, Pa. is a 1963 Model FJS, 750gpm/500gallons. Was originally delivered with an F817G Waukesha but later repowered with a DT466/Turbo. They kept the 5-speed. Seats 6 (comfortably, too. Not cramped!) That particular cab was developed for line crews and other utility work, this rig is only one of four believed to have been built as a firetruck, and is the only one of the three known left that is in pristine condition. One is in pieces and will most likely never see the light of day again except to be scrapped, and the other one has a tree growing through it. I almost bought this one about a year ago- I came -----> <----- this close to doing it, until I came to my senses and remembered that I don't have any indoor storage large enough for it. And I am not the kind of guy that would store it outside 1. To deteriorate in the weather and 2. Subject my neighbors to seeing and dealing with it. I understand it went to a good home in Maine.
  21. For your viewing pleasure, some items in my collection of some more unusual F.W.D. vehicles. How in the hell did that get in there? Credits to the photographers of these rigs, their names are all lost to time.
  22. Yes just saw this thread now, however you and the peanut gallery should know that "Lord Four Wheel Drive" already has these pics in his files.........*yawn* Why are the pages sticky?
  23. Call Ed Schumaker at the Mack Trucks Museum, see if they have any vendors on their list of parts suppliers that may be able to help you.
  24. I'm sure anyone who knows small engines knows this- but throwing it out there just in case......If you want ethanol-free gasoline, check this out: www.pure-gas.com
  25. Ken you are correct- lots of it is made in China, but I believe Generac's gen set side is made in Japan, and the engines are Briggs & Stratton. Ken if you are an engineer and want something absolutely bombproof, get full Honda set. They are expensive but the things never quit. Had a buddy bring me a trash pump once- was underwater (dont ask.) All I did was drain the crankcase, refill with oil and pour fresh gas in it, ran it for a few minutes, changed the oil, ran for 2 hours, changed the oil once more and the thing runs fine to this day. Their generators are bombproof too just dont submerge them.
