  1. Mike if you go back, and you want some company and help, and do it on a Saturday, gimme a week or two notice and if I can swing it I'll take a ride with you.
  2. Harry is alive and well, I communicated with him earlier this year through emails. He was at the ATHS show in Yakima last year. My father was one of the original "Dirty Dozen"- the 12 Owner Operators who were with Harry (Muschlegel) when he started JEVIC back in the early 1980's. My father retired from there after 28 years with Harry in 2004. I myself worked in the Willingboro Fleet Maintenance shop for a few years- mostly doing trailer sheet metal repairs. That F Model was indeed his, and is painted up in the original JEVIC two-tone blue. The only F-Model JEVIC ever ran was the one he coincidentally bought from my father- a 1978 Allentown tandem screw with a 300+ and a 10 speed. I did a lot of work on some of his hobby trucks- I worked Mon-Fri day work until 3:30pm, and then usually stayed for 2-3 hours on "The Harry Clock." I stripped, sandblasted and primed the entire frame of one of his H models.......And a lot of misc work on some of the others including the black-over-red poospreader that Gene Tackaberry now owns. Harry might try to make Macungie 2014. Mark- are you speaking of Maurice- who worked at JEVIC and then went to New Century (also known as "Jevic Part II: The Sequel.") I remember when Harry was in love with PPG Durethane paint, which apparently was a pain in the ass to blow.....So the PPG salesman offered to bring Maurice to their training shop for a 2-day class, so Maurice got a 2-day trip to Pittsburgh just to learn how to blow Durethane.
  3. Larry, Darrel, Darrel, Darrel, Darrel, Darrel............
  4. Holy crap that boot rack alone would bring a couple of hundred bucks at Allentown.........and don't even get me started on the wooden ground ladders......
  5. That guy with the red ballcap- I'd like to play checkers on his shirt.........
  6. You don't wait in that line with lights and sirens.....And even if we were going non-emergency, there is another entrance I could tell you about, but I would have to kill you.
  7. I was a DoD Civilian Firefighter there for 8 years....LOL Got to know a lot of the various truck manufacturer's representatives and contractors pretty well, especially the Oshkosh guys. Building Inspections in the vehicle maintenance/service areas and the testing areas downrange took a lot longer for me to do than everyone else. Got to take a lot of stuff for drives "when no one was looking." By the way, OC & S headquarters has moved to Ft. Belvoir, Va (I think....cant remember for sure...) The Ordinance Museum has also moved as well, although there are still some tanks, vehicle guns and other mobile pieces remaining at APG, as well as the restoration shops.
  8. One of those Mack Rail Trolleys still exists at the Strasburg Railroad (Pa.) or else it may be across the street at the Pennsylvania State Railroad Museum. Dont think it runs though.
  9. You have to love these Departments that never took into account that water is 2.3lbs heavier per gallon than Jet-A and the fact that these tanks are not baffled.....Then they wonder why they are laying in the ditch...........
  10. That tandem aerialscope is an ex-FDNY. And I know the single-screw one- ex Third District Fire Company, Bucks County Pa. Company 14- has a V8, can't remember which one.....truck goes like the wind.....But them single screw scopes take 7 acres to stop and are hell on brakes.
  11. For those of you who don't know, there are some fantastic Aussie Mack Truck, and Aussie Truck Pages on Facebook with a ton of pictures. There is one group called "F-Model Macks" that has hundreds of pix of those tandem front-axle F-Models that were very popular down under.
  12. He does a light breakfast (doughnuts/pastries/coffee etc.) beginning around 9:00 and then lunch around 1200 or so, so anytime therein. Everyone usually packs up and leaves by 1500-1600.
  13. Is anyone going to the John Haines IV (as in Haines & Kibblehouse John Haines) truck show at his home in Hoppenville, Pa on 10/19??? It's kind of a private show, not really advertised, more of a word of mouth thing. It is held at his home on Gerryville Pike in Hoppenville Pa (Near Green Lane/Red Hill, off Rt 663, about 5 miles or so from the Quakertown/663 Interchange of the Northeast Extension of the Pa Turnpike/I-476.) I'll be there with the F.W.D.......Anyone? Anyone?? Doug Maney?? Mike Yarnall??? Ron Smith??
  14. I'm horny, but she looks a little rough...........
  15. Staxx has great advice. You do need to get to the bottom of this, and a lube oil analysis is a great way to start.
  16. I'm sorry I missed it- but I have a great excuse....Honest!!!! I have never been to this one, and I was planning on coming this year with Small, Medium and Large. However, as many of you (who are my Facebook Friends) know, my father kinda sorta threw me a curveball- on Friday morning 9/27 he told my mom that he was having chest pains. To make a long story short, she got him to the ER in the car, and 20 minutes later he coded (died right there on the table in front of the Doctor....) They were able to get him back. He was sent right up to the cardiac cath lab, and got three stents installed. He almost croaked 2 more times in the cath lab. He was intubated and sedated until Tuesday. Then after he was awake, it looked as if he may have suffered a stroke or an anoxic brain injury. However he is slowly regaining his memory, and is a lot more conscious, alert and oriented. He is doing very well despite what he was through. I almost lost my best friend....and was not a happy camper there for a few days. I've been a busy beaver the last week, going to work (which was the first week back after 12 days of vacation...so I had my hands full there.....) driving to the hospital (53 mile ride one way) and taking care of business in my own life......Ready to tear out my hair.
  17. If it's an HT740 (which is very well probably is) standard ATF works. We use Wolf's Head HD Dexron III.
  18. I think you should sign Ken's boob
  19. Philosophically, Thats some deep shit.....
  20. Who is this guy??? HINT: a while back, we were all praying for him. Now he's looking good (ok ok ok ok he's looking somewhat adequate......) and in good health. I am proud to call him my friend!!! The Most Interesting Dairy Tanker Driver in the World says: "Stay Thirsty, My Friends!!!"
  21. Post more pictures of F-Models (especially Western/Hayward ones) or girls in cars in short skirts and I may reconsider.
  22. Yes, thats the one. You're still fired for being a cock tease.
  23. Thats ALL the pictures you took of that F-Model???? You're fucking FIRED!!! Do you hear me?? FIRED I SAY!!! FIRED!!!!! Hang your head in SHAME!!!!
  24. I think those are the same style parking light modules on the headlights of my 1958 F.W.D. and if so, I might have some extra chrome pieces laying around, lemme take a look and get back to you.
