  1. The oil stain that looks like Jesus has been submitted to the Vatican for consideration of becoming a Miracle- for it came from one of those Anti-Christ and Un-Holy 2-strokes. Also, note there was prominent mention of the 60-Series (4-Strokes) yet no mention at all of anything 2-stroke. That's corporate's way of finally acknowledging their sin of creating Satan's Engine. They would just rather forget about it. No need to have an exorcist at the end of the 60-Series assembly line.
  2. Momma taught me not to say anything at all!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. If you're talking about the steakhouse near the airport, no you're not.......LOL
  4. Damn, just watching that video makes me want to smash my fingers with the ball-peen hammer, I couldn't imagine driving it!!!! Just kidding......I love the leaves and crap falling off it in the first few seconds of road time. Gotta be a good feeling getting that thing out there for the first time in almost 10 years, I'm sure you have a list of things to do......Obviously from the video though make sure you go over all the running/brakes lights. Hopefully you just have to do light bulbs. Having someone hit the alternator with a tester couldn't hurt if you know someone with a tester. Scrape down that 5th wheel, get rid of all the old crud, then steam clean the entire ass end, especially the 5th wheel....Then maybe hit it with some sandpaper, and then re-grease it with fresh grease. Then crawl under the thing with a creeper and a grease gun with a full cartridge, and hit every grease zerk you can possibly find. And change the crankcase oil ASAP- that should be the first thing you do in fact- Detroit recommends using straight 40W oil which breaks down over time......I have had several oil people tell me to never allow straight weight oils to remain in a crankcase (or even in bottles on a shelf for that matter) for more than 2 years.
  5. mmmmmmmmm Western R-Model......I'm horny........
  6. Panel looks suspiciously like an Appleton.
  7. Carl: thanks for the tip. Last time we went through this (about 8 years ago) we walked into the NAPA store and laid it on the counter, and said to the NAPA guy "We need a rebuild kit for one of these" thinking we would stump him.....He had one ordered in less than 5 minutes- Wagner still makes them as both the slave and the master are plentiful and parts are in demand. I still hope that's the case,
  8. Ken I have seen many folks with a door directly in the front. It's kind of like installing a door or window in your house, just double up the studs on each side of the door because you'll be deleting one or two pins for the opening, and then install a doubled cross member over the door itself. If whoever does it right they will rivet it all with traditional smash rivets for maximum durability.
  9. The kids look great, hope they had fun; I'm sure that they did. Just a question though- why would you wear a sweater under the tweed jacket???
  10. Forgot to mention that this was the first thing I did before I crawled under it earlier this afternoon. UPDATE: I found out where all the fluid went!!!! Down the inside of the firewall and under the piece of carpet I have under my feet. After Momma got home from work around 8:30, I went out to the garage and pulled the slave cylinder, which only took 10 mins, so I said the heck with it, and pulled the master cyl too. I guess when I looked inside earlier to check the linkage I didnt really pay attention to anything but the linkage. So when I pulled the master cyl, I dropped one of the bolts on the inside, so I lifted the carpet to find it and...ewwwwwww gooey mess of eaten paint and brake fluid. Gonna have to clean that up tomorrow and get it all decontaminated and then a coat of primer on there or something. Also on Monday gonna call the NAPA man and order the Wagner rebuild kits.
  11. There's a beach in Winfall???
  12. Wanted to clean/straighten up the garage this morning, so I started up the FWD and let her warm up for about 5 mins and then went to pull her out- got a surprise when the clutch went ALL the way to the floor/stops.....NOTHIN!!!! No resistance whatsoever. Shit. Drove her about 5 miles 2-3 weeks ago, gave ZERO indication that anything was wrong. Nothin!!! Opened the master cyl- empty!!!! No fluid on the floor. Looked at the lines, all dry- no drips or wet spots anywhere. Checked all linkage- direct pushrod through the firewall to master cyl is intact and present/accounted for. Pushrod from slave cyl to clutch itself is intact and present/accounted for. Had my 9-year old jump in and push the clutch while I watched from the underside. Aside from the hose flexing ever so slightly from a very tiny bit of pressure, nothing. No one home. Checked hoses and flex tube for breaks/wears/frays/holes....nothing. We rebuilt the master cyl about 8 years ago. The parts were easy to find, Bendix has a kit with a stainless steel cyl/piston & lifetime warranty. Since we did that, I think I am going to start with the slave cyl this time. Going to take it out and take it to the Never Any Parts Available man and see if Bendix has a kit for it and rebuild that one. If that doesnt work I'll rebuild the master cyl......They're Ford Master Cyl's, Dont know who's slave cyl it is. Anyone have any suggestions???
  13. Ken- I used to do trailer body work when I worked at Jevic at the Willingboro Fleet Maintenance Shop. One thing you do NOT want to do is let a place not familiar with how trailers are built to install the door for you. If they cut the wrong rail in the wrong spot in the wrong manner, it could lead to bad things. As others have suggested, I would let a trailer shop install the door for you, NOT an RV place. It's been over 10 years since I have done any trailer sheet metal work and I don't have a heavy compressor (or my air tools) anymore or else I'd offer to install it for you after Macungie.
  14. Anyone coming to Macungie that has an extra gas/diesel golf cart or mule and extra hauling space.......Would you consider letting me borrow it for Saturday??? My father is coming to Macungie and he has knee problems. Last year he was pretty much tied to my truck because he was in some pain. He has since had his left knee replaced but the right one is still giving him fits and I would like to borrow one for him so he can see the whole show.....Anyone?? Anyone??
  15. I dont joke about ecological disasters. Everyone thinks that the oil in the Gulf of Mexico a few years ago was from a busted well head- They're wrong, GM (owned by the Gubmint) didnt want everyone to know that the oil was from all the green leakers powering the equipment on the drilling platform. You know the difference between a green banana and a green leaker? They're not worth a shit until they turn (Cat) Yellow!!!
  16. OK I got your private message about getting a rental car. If you need anything lemme know. The hotels in Fogelsville at 78 & 100 are all good with lots of food choices within walking distance.
  17. If you did that to your A Model I would have to have some friends of mine from South Philly (that drive a black caddy) come visit you to discuss your decision.....LOL just kidding, I know you wouldn't ever do that!!!
  18. LOL of course I would not forget you sir!!! (Does seeing you rapidly vanish in the rear view mirror count as forgetting you?)
  19. I have been attending Macungie for 10 years, and have usually drive the FWD Firetruck out on Friday afternoon, park it overnight- have the old lady pick me up and then drop me back off Saturday AM....I have never had any trouble with anything missing and have never heard of any problems at Macungie. It's a family environment, 90% are blue-collar working stiffs and we all pretty much look out for each other's stuff. Doug Maney might be able to tell you more about any problems. But I wouldnt hesitate for one minute to park a fully stocked pumper there and then walk the show grounds.
  20. Had breakfast with Slpwlker this morning. He delivered in Pocono Summit yesterday during the day, and got a hotel on 22 in Allentown about 15 mins from my house and called me yesterday wanting to go howl at the moon last night, but I had to take the kids to their game as Momma was working overtime at the hospital. So we had breakfast this morning instead. Got to meet Randy and his girlfriend and another local friend of his who is also a truck nut. Good people!!!! We all solved the worlds problems over bacon and eggs, now if the rest of the world would just follow our directives we'd be ok (beginning with the immediate destruction/melting down of any 2-stroke oil burners......)We forgot to take a picture to post on here, but maybe that's a good thing??? Randy it was good to finally meet you, and thanks for breakfast, next time with a little advance notice I'll have you guys over the house and we'll do some steaks on the grill!!!!! SAFE TRAVELS!!! -Randy Y That makes about 4-5 guys I have met from here, not including the ones at the annual "Gathering of the Fools" at 12:00 on Macungie Saturdays... I have met Farmer52, Leversole, Mack69man, Doug Maney.......one or two others who's names slip my memory right now.
  21. Where are you flying into and when does your plane arrive???
  22. ^ yeah what he said...lol.....
  23. Yup I'm guessing a collapsed or plugged line- check the crossover line if you have tanks on both sides, too. Also, just for shits and giggles, check for a closed valve somewhere between the tanks and the fuel pump- I know many guys that used to put in valves (easily reached) that they could turn off if the parked for the weekend; that way if someone decided to steal the truck, she aint going very far. It's a long shot but I have been stumped by sillier stuff. Yer gonna pay a few bucks to get her towed......I would try one more time or two to get your fuel problems solved, then check for roadworthyness, and if the tires, brakes and lights are all ok, drive her back to your place- IIRC it's not very far, correct????
  24. Just last week I was invited to attend the retirement party of a close friend on the job, which was held at Marine Co. 9's quarters, and was fortunate enough to receive a tour of Firefighter II. Have a boatload of pics- that boat is nicer than my house....Hell, the engine room is nicer than my house!!!
  25. For you guys stayong right there at the 100/78 Interchange by the Cracker Barrell- if you have a chance, walk down the street past the Cracker Barrel, to the bar down on the right at the stop sign, I cannot remember the name for the life of me. The food is absolutely FANTASTIC. I usually have dinner there on Saturday nights with Robert Gabrick and some Sterliing Truck nuts.
