  1. So where are the group shots of the BMT Idiots errrrrrrr ahhhhhhh I mean the BMT Fellas????
  2. Where did you go on vacation?
  3. With PENNDOT's love affair of using brine on state roads, vehicles in Pa are rotting out faster than ever before. I took my 1500 Ram to an undercoating guy and he has me come back every other year or so to put it up on the lift, check things out and to apply touch-up if necessary.
  4. Yes, I think changing the time would be a good idea, maybe in the morning like at 9 or 10 or later in the afternoon at 2 or 3?? I had my hands full of prepping all kinds of goodies for my tailgate party, I appreciate everyone coming over to the FWD for the picture this year. By the way, has anyone posted any of the group shots yet??
  5. That's Erick Oehme's F-Model that he fully restored. It is reported that the cab on it was the last NOS cab in existence in Mack's inventory.
  6. RESERVATIONS FOR THE THURS NIGHT GATHERING ARE NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO RESPONDED AND WE WILL SEE YOU THURS EVENING AT 7PM!!!
  7. Last chance to sign up, I MUST know by tonight if you plan on attending so that I can give them the head count. Also due to the large party they ask that we stick to simple things like burgers and sammiches and the like.
  8. Swishy you misspelled "237 Maxidyne"
  9. You are dead to me
  10. Say that in english, please. The number of axles are determined by individual State axle weight regulations, not by market demand. Some states exempt fire apparatus from axle weight laws, some do not.
  11. Ok, due to his plate being overloaded, Doug has passed the torch for the Thursday evening gathering to me. As you all may or may not know, the Nunnery (the Tilted Kilt) has closed for good, therefore we will have to move the venue. The new chosen spot is the Alburtis Tavern, located at 106 S. Main Street in Alburtis just down the road from Macungie. The meet as usual will be Thursday Night (June 13) at 7pm. Due to the large crowd coming in at one time, they will restrict us to a limited menu, which I am waiting on. I have never been there but I have heard from many folks that it is a good stop. PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS POSTING IF YOU WILL ATTEND AND A HEAD COUNT OF YOUR PARTY NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, JUNE 9 I will also post on Facebook but please, in the interest of preventing brain damage to my already damaged brain, only respond here or in facebook, not both!!! As soon as I have the menu from them I will post it on here. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
  12. Not true. Putting up a carport may constitute a structure which is impervious surface, and could require a zoning permit.
  13. So we took the carb off the Wauky in the F.W.D. It is a downdraft Zenith. It has a Zenith "mechano-vac" governor that is tied to the throttle inside a separate throttle body (which we didn't know was separate.) o A line comes up from the bottom of the engine somewhere, goes into the bottom of the Mechano-Vac, and then a line from there into the throttle body. We have rebuilt the carb, but figure since we have gone this far we should at least take off the throttle body to have a look-see but for the life of us we cannot figure out how to disconnect the cable or linkage or whatever it is. We can find NOTHING anywhere on the internet, nothing in my Wauky manuals, and nothing in any of my MOTORS Manuals. Anyone know anything about these things?
  14. Matt Pfahl is chasing 4014's return to Cheyenne and was in the cab today and posted pictures on Facebook!!!
  15. Hey that's pretty cool. I have learned a lot of stuff on youtube. You do have to take a lot of it with a grain of salt but I have picked up some good stuff on there. There is one guy in particular that has a shield on his camera and films welding, its pretty cool.
  16. Converted to bunker oil burner by UP during the overhaul.
  17. The Olympia is in trouble. She is in desperate need of a dry-docking to repair/refurb the hull, for which of course there is no money. Then to add insult to injury, she is resting on the bottom, and it will cost quite a few bucks to get her broken loose and to dredge a driveway for her out to the main channel to get her downriver to one of the private dry docks at the old PNSY or down to Sun Ship in Chester. If the work doesn't get done soon (I don't know what soon means) she could flood out below the waterline.
  18. Larry next time you are in Eastern Pa, you need to make time for Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton. Trust me.
  19. Try Ray Sidella, I know he is doing a dedicated run somewhere between Pa and New England, he might be able to help you.
  20. Old Number 90 at Strasburg is a timeless classic! I remember my dad taking me to Strasburg when I was a wee lad, and then taking my boys there when they were wee lads!
  21. Somewhere I have a pic of Large and Medium standing in front of 4012 in Scranton.
  22. Anyone else as excited and aroused as I am?
  23. None at Allentown?
  24. 63 or 163?
  25. Actually, they are. But the engine Mfr's have repeatedly told the Fire Chassis guys "We are not stopping our production lines to re-tool for a few hundred units a year."
