  1. I have been there once when I took Vlad there 6 or 8 years ago.
  2. Don't know anything about it but that's not too far from me. If you go lemme know maybe I'll take a ride.
  3. Hey not bad! It actually looks like you know what you're doing!
  4. Even though you spelled it wrong, I knew what you meant and I used to like you............
  5. How much do you charge to paint firetrucks?
  6. Email has been sent to an Upper-Up at the LTC Division of Spartan/Smeal and he has replied that he is digging into that and will get back to me in a day or so.
  7. Joes Mack, I am going to make a call for you, I might have some insider advantage to LTC. In the meantime, do what Ga Dave advised. You can also try calling Pierce. Have the Pierce job number handy when you call them, they *may* have copies of the manual, but I suspect it will be in pdf format.

No, the Fire Department I should say.

    Snow

This recent storm was really giving the Meteorologists in Eastern Pennsylvania a conniption as far as forecasting. At the beginning of the week we were schedule for 8-12". As the week wore on, the forecast depth kept dropping lower and lower and the word "rain" kept becoming more prominent, along with sleet, freezing rain and ice. None of the forecasters or TV weather people could agree on anything. All we wound up with was maybe.....MAYBE an inch before it completely changed to heavy rain which changed the snow into a heavy slush. One thing everyone did agree on was that later in the afternoon today (sunday 1/20/19) air temperatures would rapidly fall to record lows, which will freeze everything solid. This should be fun come tonight. Anyone want to bet how many times I am up on Interstate 78 driving the firetruck?
  10. If they absolutely, positively MUST "look it up" in a computer and cannot fathom looking at the part casting numbers or measuring the piece and cross-referencing, take your business elsewhere.
  11. Jimmy, As with many parts, it is not proprietary or exclusive to Mack. In all likelyhood, it was probably a Ford or GM master cylinder. Both the brake master cyl and the clutch master cyl in my 1958 F.W.D. are FoMoCo OEM parts. Take the old one to an old-school NAPA parts counter. The older the better. Drop it on the counter and say "I need one of this." DO NOT TELL THEM WHAT IT CAME FROM. This will only make matters worse- you will say Mack which may make them blink, and then you'll say Fire Truck, which will make them go into vapor lock. Just drop it on the counter and say "Gimme a new one or a rebuild kit." Chances are that one is available through Wagner or Bendix.
  12. I'd like to go to lunch with Otherdog and Hatcity but there are Federal laws against the three of us interacting in the same location at the same time.
  13. As for the weather in Eastern Pa.......We were shocked when we had sunglasses weather two days in a row. We were all worried about our mud getting dehydrated but did not have to wait long, rained its ass off the last 2 days and they are saying the S word for this coming Saturday night.
  14. How you doing Paul? Was thinking about you the other day.
  15. You are welcome! I am happy to help!
  16. I spent $900 and got a brand spanking new snowblower......and so far......nothing. Best $900 I ever spent and honestly if I never have to use the thing it would be wonderful!!!
  17. yeah. More effing rain and the refrigerator took a shit. I was starting to worry about my mud getting dehydrated and who doesn't enjoy chunky milk?
  18. Amazon is great for some things..........I can get the seven quarts of Royal Purple synthetic 5W20 and the filter for the Hemi cheaper through them than anyplace else. Including shipping.
  19. Was a ticket/citation issued? If so, was the relevant section of the Illinois MVC cited on the ticket? If not the ticket can be thrown out but that's another story for another time. For now, if a ticket was issued, and the section was cited, you should be able to pull it up on the interwebz. If a Citation was not issued and it was more or less a polite warning for you, I would call the Officer and politely ask him to cite the relevant section of the Illinois MVC and verify before you start the hassle of spending money and time getting your people into compliance.
  20. No Clue Joe??? Talk about the Ghost of Christmas Past !!!
  21. I wanted to get an English Bully for the longest time, then I started researching them when I wanted to pull the trigger. I found out they have a ton of respiratory and muscular/skeletal problems. The only way to get around this is to use a very reputable breeder who follows a closely guarded blood line......And those pups cost upwards of $2500........ Went with another Dalmatian instead.......lol
  22. Waukesha has been using the same color orange since the 1930's, hence the nickname "THUNDER PUMPKIN!"
  23. I love it when guys come on here and say "I know it depends on condition but how much................." You answered your own question. Can you eat off it or is all the steel swiss cheese and is there oil in the coolant? As for swapping out the 707, who told you parts are hard to come by? You need to know where to look. And if you take care of it, like anything else mechanical, it will run forever. And unless it is an ex-FDNY C Model with high mileage, it is probably an atypical firetruck and has less than 30,000 miles on it- barely broken in. So the question remains- why would you swap it? And, if you do insist on swapping it for an oil burner, drop a 237 Maxidyne and a 5 speed Maxitorque in there. You did remember to swap the rear axle, right?
  24. VLAD!!! VODKA!!!!
  25. No, we are saving it all for OtherDog
