  1. I have been a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan since I could hold a football. Those of you who know Philly Fans know we are passionate about our teams. After years of one failing season after another, the Eagles are having their best season in decades and are dominating the league at the number one spot right now. --------> I have not watched one. single. f*cking. game.<--------------- The NFL can kiss my ass.
  2. It departed earlier this year.
  3. I sent OD a facebook message saying "you might wanna check out BMT." He just got back to me saying that he has trouble accessing BMT on the road.
  4. He appears on FB regularly. I know he was holed up at a truckstop near McKees Rocks Pa. the other day, and there was discussion of daring that guy from Pitt Ohio to stop and bang on his door, and when OD yelled out "GO AWAY LOT LIZARD!" that Pitt Ohio driver would yell "It's not a lot lizard, it's worse!" But then there was discussion of OD NOT yelling for the assumed lot lizard to go away. But then we all remembered that the Pitt Ohio driver is ignorant enough that he doesn't wave to any of us when we see him, so he probably wouldn't stop to bang on OD's door.
  5. Thank you Lads. Worked the part time job today out in the Harrisburg area. Came home to a nice meal. 43rd trip around the sun was fast! Let's see what the 44th brings......
  6. Waukesha has been building gas engines for the oil field industry for years, I don't know why it hasn't been brought over to the road market.
  7. One of my bitches with the Apple(ton) Kool-Aid. When you ask their engineers to think outside of their cookie-cutter box, they go into vapor lock.
  8. DISCLAIMER: It is no secret among my friends that I do not like Pierce. I think that they build a good truck as long as they are building the truck that you want them to build and not the truck that they want to build for you (often the case as is evident in their bid proposals....) You also have to keep on top of their engineers during the design process. I do not like their "Our shit does not stink" attitude nor do I like their sales tactics and ideologies. That being said, I'm with Carl. I am not sold. I will have to dig into this a little deeper to form a better educated opinion. Fire pumps need torque, not horsepower. This engine does not have the torque needed to push anything more than a 1250 at best. A wise old man (my father) once told me "if you want horsepower and torque you need CID." The first thing that came to mind when I read this story was that meme of the two Hondas drag racing- it says "This is not a Drag Race....This is two idiots seeing who's lawn mower is faster."
  9. Everyone should do themselves a favor and never, ever buy a fire extinguisher with a plastic head and valve assembly. Spend a few extra bucks and go metal. Amerex is a good choice.
  10. Your model looks incredible!!! I love how the exhaust manifold and turbo have been "heated." Show us more pics of that or anything else you have built!!!
  11. No but as a matter of fact, Dad brought the Hahn to the town Halloween parade last week and parked it alongside the house and of course it marked it's territory on the street......
  12. REL Never wanted war. He was completely, totally and wholly against the war and with secession. He was originally offered the title of Commanding General of the US Army, however he would not accept because of his loyalty to his beloved home of Virginia.
  13. You are correct, the world wouldn't be the same without them, it would be MUCH better.
  14. I can't take it anymore. I want to clone JFK and Ronald Reagan, and genetically engineer what I feel would be a perfect President. Then, we would establish a colony on the Moon or Mars. No stupid people allowed. Second rule of the colony- no Detroit Diesel allowed.
  15. Message sent. Thank you kind sir!!!
  16. This is a great discussion and another reason why I love BMT!!!
  17. One or two are plenty for our needs. I got some youngsters that need helmet bands and door search markers.
  18. Anyone have any old big-truck size inner tubes laying around collecting dust? I could use one. Does not even have to hold air. We cut them up and use them in the firehouse on our helmets to hold stuff and also as door search markers. It is getting harder and harder to find them!
  19. ANTIQUE TRUCK and FIRETRUCK FRIENDS: Desperately seeking weathertight storage within 1 hour +/- of the I78/I287 Area near Raritan NJ for a CF Mack Telesqurt, need a rain/windproof spot 31' long, 8' wide and 11' high. Does not need to have utilities, just be out of the rain, wind and sun for at least this winter into the spring, and possibly longer if it works out well. Posting for a friend, if you have any space available or any leads please post here or message me and I will pass on to the vehicle owner. THANK YOU!

  21. Gelling- you know......what happened before you moved to Floriduh.
  22. Yeah. Eff that. The older I get the better and better North Carolina is looking.
  23. Do NOT under any circumstances ass gasoline to diesel fuel for use in a diesel engine. You are adding a flammable liquid with a flash point of -50f to a fuel designed to flash at 130f. Great way to pre-combust and blow pistons apart.
  24. New engines do ok on it because it gets burned off in a timely fashion. Go ahead and park your car for a few months though and come back and see what happens. And then there's E15. Google how many manufacturer's will NOT honor warranties if you put E15 into your car.
  25. Corn gas has become quite an issue with those of us having gasoline engines in our antiques that do not run very often. In the summertime when I am constantly taking the FWD to shows, less of an issue. Now that the end of the show season is on the horizon, I have begun topping off with non-eth (which I am fortunate to have a source of about 10 miles away.) You can put all the additives you want into corn gas (StaBil, StarTron or what have you) but you are only buying time- the inevitible "Lacquering" of the corn gas can and WILL happen- and if you have plastic, rubber or neoprene parts in your fuel system you will pay the price dearly. Treating corn gas is not a sure save, in my opinion the only way to avoid problems with corn gas is to burn it off relatively soon. Nationwide list of sources of non-eth gasoline www.pure-gas.org As for the older oil burner that we own- one quart of cheap ATF every fill up.
