This had to be one of the worst years for attendance (by both vendors and customers) that I can honestly remember and I have been going for 20 years or more. 5 years ago, you'd arrive at 0830 or 0900 and the line to get in would be a block and a half long. Then, when you got inside it would be elbows and assholes and no room to move.....This year I got there at 0905 and walked right in with plenty of room to move about, stop in the middle of the aisles to talk to buddies, etc etc etc. I scored a couple if misc. adapters I have been looking for and a book. Was gone and home by 11:30. (I live 20 mins away.) Usually I have a get together at my place but we had some family stuff going on.

I saw this thin-crust pizza rolled up and then wrapped in bacon come out of my oven. Between myself and the little vultures, it didn't last too long. I saw Large sitting in this Delorean I saw Pokey the Wonder Mutt under the covers on a chilly morning. He was pretty irritated at me. I saw this big F.W.D. Truck with the remains of old Bethlehem Steel Basic Oxygen Furnaces 1-4 in the background at a show. I saw this Extra Small girl at her 2nd Birthday Party Lunch I saw this Big Mack Firetruck I saw these two big Hahn Firetrucks. Then I saw this Big Mack Truck hauling a small bulldozer northbound on Pa 309. It belongs to Haines and Kibblehouse, a pretty big construction empire in Eastern Pa. Mr Haines doesn't live too far from here, and has a boatload of antique trucks and hosts a private show at his house in October. He always brings out a bunch of trucks to Macungie (The green ones over by the pool.) Then a bit down 309 I saw this other one, he went into the Wawa to get some coffee or something I guess.

Hey for those of you not on facebook, Herb Ketter's ladyfriend Debbie had a stroke today right before lunchtime. She is in the ICU at the local hospital there. Send them some prayers, they could use it. Also, mack69man had a scare yesterday but looks like he's out of the woods, he said it was ok to post something on here but to keep it on the down low on facebook. Something about a possible reaction to one of his meds. He's OK now and at home but send him prayers anyway as it couldn't hurt.

Hopefully I don't have to tell you to get compaction tests done on the fill in lifted increments......Especially if you'll be pouring a truck-capable slab (and then parking trucks on it......) -
He doesn't own a Mack. He owns a Vulva that says Mack on it.

UPDATE 04/17/2016: Now that it looks like Mother Nature has made up her mind that it' spring and we are finally getting warm weather, we took advantage of a beautiful weekend and I brought the Hahn home on Friday. I have a friend who is a retired Chief from Marlborough, Mass. who details cars on the side, and I called him and explained very carefully about the single-stage paint and the sitting outside for 5 years, sun-bleached, pine sap/tar all over it, blah blah. He sent me an email an hour later with a list of Meguiars products to buy and a detailed procedure of how and when to use them. So we started Saturday afternoon, and wow is it labor intensive but the results- my god I never thought the paint was going to come back as nicely as it did. Large is in a few pictures either painting the cab floor or he is removing rust and crap from some of the grab handles and other misc hardware that we took off. What a bitch to get the rust-bleed drips off. When I re-assembled the hardware, I used stainless when possible. Why Hahn didn't I will never know. You can see where I stopped buffing halfway up the windows. What a difference. Large re-attaches the air intake grill using stainless hardware. Note Extra Small in the cab. She was perfectly content to just sit there for long periods of time, taking pulls from her "baba." No lie she would sit there for an hour just watching the world go by, or us working. In fact several times when I went to get her out, she got pissed!!! Large trying to score a spokesperson spot for Meguiars. When we dissassembled all the hardware. Large paints the cab floor. Yes he made a mess in a few spots. If you have never worked with Rustoleum "aluminum" the stuff is like water and flings around as the bristles of the brush snap. Had to show him how to do it gently a few times. But I make sure I remind myself to counter his sloppyness with his enthusiasm.

Myself as the Engine Company Officer with four guys of my choosing, with a functioning 1965 1000gpm pumper of any make or model, can and will put out more fire in a faster, more orderly efficient military manner than 15 guys using a 2016 2000gpm pumper with all the modern bells and whistles.

I vaguely remember speaking with you, and I have to apologize as I do not remember your name. You are thinking of my Grandparents house on Valley Road across from Tinari's. And if you remember Chucks then you have to remember Dad's green/white Hayward F-Model parked there when he was not on the road. And my very first, official (non-under the table pay) job was pumping gas for Billy and Jack, and I would work on and off for Chuck too once in a while towing. Hunter later became the District Judge (died a few years back) and I was in high school with Paul's daughter and his son was 2 classes below me. Small world!!! -

B873SX Rebuild Update
1958 F.W.D. replied to hicrop10's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Hicrop: I am just now seeing this thread for the first time. Where in Philly are you? I was born and raised in Huntingdon Valley. And I can relate with you about your daughter and the help not working unless they want it. My older sister was a hyporchondriac addicted to prescription pain medications. She had about 10 different Doctors and none of them really knew much about the others and what they were and were not prescribing for her. And if one Doc said no to her, she would just Doctor Shop until she found a yes. My parents and I tried for years to help her but it just didn't take, because in her mind, she had these issues that needed medicines. She died from an overdose back in 2007. -
Now go take us double the wimmin-in-cars errrrr ahhhhh I mean scenic countryside pictures to make up for lost time.
