  1. Wait.....I thought you were drankin that other Pennsylvania stuff I sent to you?
  2. I may be crazy but I am not stupid enough to live in the same town where I work. Where I live residents may drop off branches, xmas trees and yard waste to be mulchified and can take as much mulch as they want.
  3. Here we have a selection of some photos of things, people, events, crimes and other happenings that I have witnessed in the past few weeks, months or years. Some are interesting, some are not so interesting. First up is this 1958 F.W.D. that I saw being posed for professional pictures by a truck photographer with a real honest to goodness 35mm slide print camera. He's said he's been trying to get this truck for quite some time. He was hesitant to shoot it at 6pm in April when the sun is fairly low, but as you can see the pic came out very nicely, and he was happy. He shoots all kinds of heavy, all-wheel drive trucks like FWD, Oshkosh, Walter, etc. Next we have this Hayward R-Model rollback that I saw. Has a 237 and a 5-speed. I'd like to have this for fun and work. I am on the new pumper committee at my volunteer fire department. We signed a contract wit Ferrara Fire Apparatus about a month ago. Here are the final factory drawings. The frame rails, engine, tranny drive axle and pump were all pulled from stock last week, and construction begins Monday 4/27 with delivery expected at the end of July or beginning of August. I was taking a 1958 FWD to a car show (possibly the same one in the picture above) and the traffic to get in was pretty heavy. I saw this Ferrari in front of me. Later on, I saw this Lamborghini in front of me. Went for mulch at the town public works yard last week. Small went along for the ride. I was at work last week when there was a big brush fire about 8 miles away. A big pile of tires was also burning. Began to clean out the garage as it got slammed hard over the winter. Saw this cute little girl who was supervising the cleaning of the garage from her little play-pen. Hard to believe that Extra Small just turned one year old. Saw this big non-Mack truck delivering shingles to the roof of the FWD garage. Saw this new roof being put on the FWD Garage. Saw this picture of me and my two Dalmatians, I think the pic was taken somewheres around 2002, not too long after I bought the FWD. "Tiller" was my male and "Brooklyn" was my female. They were two of the best damn dogs anyone could ever have. And finally, I saw this Mini-Mack guy at a truck show last fall.
  4. Take old chamber, lay on counter of any heavy truck parts shop and say "One please." I guarantee it's not a Mack part.
  5. Writing isn't an issue. Believe it or not it's actually something that I excel at. Been published several times over the years in various fire-service trade magazines. Just wasn't sure who to propose the article to over at Double Clutch.
  6. Doug I would like to write a tribute to Jim Winsor for Double Clutch, maybe co-write it with Robert Gabrick. How would I go about proposing this????
  7. He must have hit the nitrous oxide
  8. There's a very, very easy way to fix that 6V53.......
  9. The L Model Snorkel is not original. The Snorkel was added later on in life.
  10. Don't get runt over by an errant F.W.D. on Friday night or Saturday AM........
  11. So lemme get this straight.....You said you would drop the trailer in their yard, go across the street and get something to eat and rack out until the morning and then get the comchek number.....And they said no..... Well......All I have to say about THAT is ........WHAT THE FOOK? Aholes.
  12. Brake parts are fairly easy. They are not unique to Mack. Most likely available through Bendix suppliers- especially the wheel cylinders and master cylinder (which is probably Mopar or Ford.) In either case you can most likely get new or even rebuild kits for them through Bendix. Take them off, and drop them on the counter at any old-school NAPA place....(The older the better.) DO NOT TELL THEM WHAT IT IS FROM. This will only complicate things. Just drop on the desk and say "I need one of these" or "I need a rebuild kit for this."
  13. You know what......I'm going to get with Doug Maney and look into that. I think it's well deserved.
  14. Ken it's not really "big truck" friendly.
  15. A memorial service for Jim Winsor will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 2:00pm at his retirement community, Beaumont of Bryn Mawr, 601 Ithan Avenue, Bryn Mawr Pa. (Near Philly, just south of the I-476/I-76 crossing.) If anyone would like to attend, just get word to me so that I can get a rough head count back to Mrs. Winsor for refreshments afterwards. Parking will be a zoo. Carpool with others if possible.
  16. Doug Maney.....The usual gathering, at the usual place on Thursday night?
  17. I Wish. I'm nowhere even coming close to being qualified. If they were ever hiring for Museum Operations or Restorations I'd put in a job app in a minute. But most of those guys are volunteers. The guy who is getting the nod is a top shelf guy and yes, knows fire apparatus. I think he will do just fine with the right people helping him,
  18. Poor Extra Small.....That poor girl's dating life is gonna be DOOMED. Buddies keep asking me if I'm gonna have fun cleaning the guns and sharpening my Ka-Bar when potential suitors come to see her.....I say "Nahhhhh I'll sit back and enjoy the show that the three older brothers put on.....Especially Medium."
  19. That greendash guy is an ignorant pr*ck. Every time I see him I wave, and he always looks at me like he doesn't know/doesn't recognize me and won't wave back. Plus he's always changing into different disguises. I dunno what thats all about, maybe he's in the witness protection program or somethin......
  20. Dad, myself and Bob Gabrick had dinner with him about 2 weeks before Christmas. He wasn't doing well physically but he absolutely had his wits about him.....
  21. Ken I wish to hell that I knew you were tight with Jim, I would have taken you down to see him when you were in the area for Macungie. (which Jim used to come to before the Gillioun-Brerre hit him....) He was holed up in a very nice assisted living center in Bryn Mawr, not too far from where the Main Turnpike and the Northeast Extension cross one another. Jim couldn't get out but he always welcomed visitors to his place. He was confined to the motorized wheel chair but rock and rolled that thing all over the campus which was very large. Jim always knew where the hot nurses were working and their schedules, too. He was known as "The Mayor of............" (I can't remember the name of the place....) I am still in shock here. After I posted the story the other day, I thought to myself "you know, next time I go over there, I should ask him if I could record him while he rattled off some good stories." I know he would have done it, too. This fucking sucks.
  22. Wow....I have been super busy the last few days, haven't been on here and Donna Winsor just called my Dad who of course called me. I am devastated. Jim was always a good friend to both myself and my father. I have one regret- never having taken the FWD over to where he lives so that he could check it out. I'll post more later. Ken, I just got off the phone with Pat Hutchings at Mack and let her know. She was devastated.
  23. I had a vasectomy February of 2014. I am ready and rearing to go, debt-free. (Notwithstanding the debts incurred by L, M, S and XS of course.)
  24. Wait.....What if I need some viagara? What am I supposed to do?
