  1. Yes and like the dumbass propeller lights, they have LED's
  2. May 15, 2015. The cab has been dropped onto the chassis.
  3. Mars lights much better. Had three of em on our 78 Hahn. Those and the Q cleared traffic in front of it like Moses parting the red sea.
  4. If it doesn't have a Q, it's an overgrown cop car. (and those E-Q's don't count.)
  5. Unfortunately yes it is getting one of those godforsaken pieces of shit.
  6. Bullshit Namibia.....I saw that same exact truck just last week on the Cross Bronx Expressway............
  7. iaff5045: Originally delivered new to FDNY, then went to 2 depts in Pa. Then to private ownership in Va. Now in Camden NJ in private ownership by a very close friend of mine and his son who have an extensive collection of apparatus.
  8. Very well used...........
  9. I'mm gonna form a new business: "Mack mhe9 Load Brokering, LLC." How's south Camden? Which aroma were you getting- the sewage plant or the bacon plant?
  10. Photo update, May 12 2015: Chassis has been moved into the assembly shop, and the ISL Cummins and AVS3000 has been installed. The cab fitout and wiring continues.
  11. No firetrucks on your skateboard?
  12. You said they recently changed the zoning ordinances? Try the "existing non-conforming" route. Basically, you were there and the use supercedes the new changes. Then tell them to pound sand. (by the way I can neither confirm or deny that I am a zoning officer......and know how to mess with other zoning officers!!!)
  13. Hmmmmmm another business opportunity for the Pole-a-torium girls..........
  14. Excellent. Always good to have a back-up plan and be redundant.
  15. I'm not sure, however I believe as long as you use a one-color scheme (versus white over red or black over red) that one color is the same price as another. We are replacing a 1989 Duplex (Vanguard cab/chassis) with a body by Quality Mfg (Talladega Al.) I call it the Non-Quality. It's a real shitbox. This is the one getting replaced. And thank CHRIST we went back to red.
  16. Correct. The NFPA recommends (like the Mafia....) that all apparatus have a minimum of "X" amount of the two-tone diagonal, reflective striping.
  17. Here's a picture of the drawings hanging on the wall.
  18. This will be my 5th and final truck committee. No more. I refuse.
  19. That'll be on order for the final inspection
  20. Thought you guys might like to follow the construction of our new 2015 Rescue/Pumper being built by Ferrara Fire Apparatus down in Holden, La. ISL 450 Cummins/Jake, Allison EVS3000 automatic, Waterous 1500 pump, "Squad/Rescue" style body with a 750/20 tank, a low-profile hose bed. Delivery expected end of July, beginning of August. I am part of the committee and will be on the final acceptance inspection crew as I am the only one who has ever done one before. I will post regular updates as I get them. You can also see what's going on over at www.ferrarafire.com, just go to "in production" and click on job #5736 for Bryn Athyn, Pa. 21. Is confirmed, I will not be attending York. Just way too much going on May/June/July that we will be spending a lot of money on. I will, of course be at Macungie as that's only 20 miles from the house. I trust that the Farmer52/OD's Bar-Grill & Brass Pole-a-torium will be in good hands without me.
  22. Call Waterous with your pump SN handy, they will send you a SN specific manual and parts sheets. You should still be able to get rebuild kits for all the valves, they are very easy to rebuild. I recommend using the newer stainless steel balls, more expensive but last longer. If the tank to pump is an Akron (not uncommon) rebuild kits are easy to get for those as well.
  23. Too many damn Randy's around here.
  24. He said he stopped to enquire if she needed help, that doesn't mean he would have helped her if she did............
  25. There's a website or a facebook group or something on the interwebz somewhere about these old missile silo's being turned into all kinds of stuff, one guy even turned one into an apartment.
