  1. Wow. 208 million?? That's a shitload of kitty litter!
  2. ws721 if you hear banjo music.......keep trucking, don't stop.
  3. I live in the Lehigh Valley, and if a mouse farts at the Mack plant, its all over the print and television news. Haven't heard a peep, but just in case I will put the word out to some fire buddies to see if I missed something, but with all the google searches that have been done, I doubt it. A more likely scenario would be that whoever makes the sleepers had a fire. I doubt that's Mack, Im sure they would out source that.
  4. You got some perty lips, Boy........
  5. I concur with the two previous knuckleheads my esteemed colleagues. I have driven several pieces of apparatus that had factory Williams air throttles and one that I know of that was converted to a Williams air throttle. You did have to lube them every once in a while with a liquid based lube (I seem to remember we used liquid silicone) so that it would penetrate all the way down the rod. (this is where gearhead gets excited because I used the words "lube" and "rod" in the same sentence.) I do believe that this was/is your issue. American Bosch injection pumps rarely had sticking rack or sticking governor issues (it happened, but was rare mind you.....) the Robert Bosch pumps on the other hand were a different story.
  6. I only let slpwlkr LOOK at the F.W.D. He wasn't even allowed to sit in the driver seat and make "WOOO WOOO" noises.
  7. Oh, so I have you to blame errrr ahhh I mean to thank for the new friend???
  8. For the record: I just spat my iced tea all over the screen. Four stroke Detroits are acceptable. What I learned to wrench on when I was an apprentice wrench turner at Jevic many, many years ago. "The Plumbing" has been turned off. If SWMBO gets that 9-month disease again, someone has some 'splainin to do.....either her or the plumber. Kidnapping is such a harsh word. Besides when you slip them enough rufies, they do whatever you want them to.
  9. The BMT Truckstop had another asshole errrr ahhh I mean another distinguished visitor today. NoClueJoe stopped by. First we took the F.W.D. out for a spin (it's first time out since before xmas.....) and I had a momentary lapse of judgement and let him drive. After that I am convinced he really does have no clue. Then we fed him dinner. SWMBO said not to, something about ferals that keep coming back if you feed them.
  10. I'm only allowed to have the plastic scissors with the round tips. And the paste tastes better when you put it on your saltines at snack time
  11. York should be good. Thats the ATHS show that travels to a different location every year. The ATCA Macungie show is the largest annually-held show that stays in one location. Usually gets 600+ trucks. Fathers Day Weekend every year. Macungie Pa, about 6 miles south of Interstate 78 at 100, just west of Allentown PA.
  12. Well DUH.....They have to stand on the right hand fuel tank.
  13. Threw a friend request at you Green Dash. The others are right, there are tons of Facebook Groups for truck enthusiasts. There are lots of assholes, too......But also, its a great way to stay in touch with friends and family that you dont see regularly.
  14. 5 miles to school uphill (both ways) in a foot of snow......with newspaper stuffed in your shoes to cover the holes.......AND YOU LIKED IT!!!! Right?
  15. I just posted this on facebook and tagged my father and said that he should buy it for Large, Medium, Small and Extra Small.
  16. Otherdog's Bar/Grill and Brass Pole-Atorium is pleased to announce that we have joined forces with Farmer52 Enterprises, LLC and will be furnishing a double-wide 53' all-inclusive, full service, de-luxe Gambling, Pole Dancing, and Eatery Hotel just for York 2015.
  17. How in the heck can that ditzy broad supervise when she's looking up in the air??? What the hell is she looking at, anyways?
  18. Diesel engines like to have cooler air coming in. Most fire apparatus that have gasoline powered engines back then used the air that was drawn in from inside the engine box. Hot air. Gasoline engines didn't really care that much. Diesel engines like the cooler air, drawn from the exterior of the engine box, and yes, they also require a lot more air. The physics of air movement did tend to restrict (to a certain extent) the air going into a diesel when the intake was inside the engine box. We had a 1978 Hahn with a 671T Detroit (shut up you morons, I was 6 years old when it was delivered and I had nothing to do with it........) that had a square Farr intake/filter on the inside of the engine box. Later in life we switched it out to an exterior-mounted and much larger cannister-type intake/filter. She ran a hell of a lot better after that.
  19. Ken no thanks the only thing I wanna see is an innocently-placed tattoo on a TK girl or other NIT.
  20. Wait.....Ken.......weren't you there with the 7th Ohio Infantry????? You should know the dates.
  21. Ken, yes......However Lee and Meade's forces engaged on July 1-2-3 in 1863, which is when the re-enactments are held; not May 27-30......LOL...........
  22. I don't think I am going to make it Lads. A lot of stuff going on this summer, plus "Medium", who has taken a huge interest in the Civil War, asked to go to Gettysburg for his bday, to see the re-enactments. Gonna cost me a few bucks but he's a good kid, gets good grades and doesn't ask for much so I'm gonna take him. Plus we still have family vacation to NC/SC later this summer, and everything else in between. Macungie, of course is a no-brainer and is non-negotiable!!!
  23. Eddeere yes the 707A is one of Mack's most popular gasoline engines.
  24. You misspelled "you should make pieces of Detroits" And the words "Peace" and "Detroit" cannot be used in the same paragraph, let alone sentence.
