  1. I'd take a Cat any day of the week and twice on Sunday over a green leaker
  2. If you are in Pa, they follow Act 45 (The Pa Uniform Construction Code) which basically adopts the International Code Council series of building codes.
  3. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING on this earth (especially on the eve of Baby Jesus's bday) is sadder than a Hayward F-Model having one of those evil pieces of shit for power. I haz a sad.
  4. As a building code official (coincidentally in Pa.) this is where knowing your stuff comes in handy. I issue permits for pole barns regularly. The trick with the new pressure treated lumber is knowing which type can be "in contact" and which can be "immersed into" the ground. .40 ACQ is the standard pt lumber, good for "contact." .60 is for immersion into water (like pilings for docks) or immersed into the ground. When I do a permit, and they want to immerse the 6x6's or 8x8's into the ground, I always question which type of ACQ it is.....and the amish guy applying for the permit always says "its pressure treated" and ends up walking away scratching his head when I deny the permit. Plus 90% of the time they just want to dig an 18" round hole, dump four bags of dry sackrete in and then sink the poles. No water, no nothing. I dont trust it so I make them get the plans signed by an engineer- which almost always NEVER happens, and the engineer makes them auger a 24" wide by 36" deep hole (the frost line here in this part of Pa.) and makes them fill it up to grade with delivered 3000psi concrete. Then they have then wet-stick a post base bracket for the poles before the concrete sets up.
  5. That's what dry pipe systems are for......filled with pressurized air. Sprinkler head trips, air dumps which releases a check valve allowing water into the system.
  6. Hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in a new building and the vehicles, tools and equipment that will be stored inside and no sprinklers......yes this makes perfect sense to me!!!
  7. Sprinklers?
  8. Check with Mack mhe9 (Ray) He is very reliable and reasonable. He may be able to cook something up for you. He may see this and reply or you can private message him, you can also hit me up and I will give you his phone number.
  9. I take it you have contacted the Mack Museum with the SN and asked for a copy of the factory file?
  10. Thats outstanding, CONGRATS!!! Don't forget to make sure you never forget to separate his bday from xmas- I have relatives that try to pull that "This is your bday/xmas present" combined into one crap. Dont let the kid get ripped off!!!
  11. Yes, hey I have an idea....Lets make drugs illegal!!!!!! Oh........Shit.........Nevermind.
  12. The 16V92 is one of eleven 200kv auxiliary gen sets. The 7 main gen sets are 12V278 400kv sets. These are used when the nookyooler tea kettle is not boiling. As for the two strokes, I bought the boat used, what can I say. I tried to get the previous owner to install 3608 Cats but he wouldn't bite.
  13. The NYPOST reporting there was another attempt on an officer's life last night in The Bronx. Thankfully it was not successful; a perp pointed a weapon at an officers face point blank, pulled the trigger but apparently did not realize the weapon was empty. He is in custody, which is unfortunate as he should be in a drawer in the morgue. And in Tarpon Springs, Florida- a police officer was murdered early this morning. To my brothers in blue: Open season has been declared on you. Maintain a high state of readiness and situational awareness at all times. You have the right to go home to your family at the end of your watch. Two in the chest, one in the head. That is all, carry on.
  14. I see you got some pictures of my weekend fishing boat in the picture coming out of the HRBT into Norfolk.......That's it right there on the left.....the haze gray one.
  15. I have friends on NYPD, just got off the phone with one of them. Back about a week and a half ago, the FOP Lodge that represents the rank and file of NYPD circulated a memo and a document that asked each and every uniformed officer to sign and submit- basically a document asking that the Mayor, the Police Commissioner and a few others of the top city leaders NOT TO BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THEIR FUNERALS if the signing member was ever to die in the line of duty. Word on the street is that both of the guys who were murdered tonight did indeed sign and submit these documents, and the families have already advised DeBowhard's staff that they are to be nowhere near the funerals. Mayor's Staff came back and said "Ok, you want to play that game, we'll jam up all your benefit payments for years." The families told the Mayors Staff to GFY, we'll get Fox News involved. Also there are rumors of a Blue Flu.
  16. Maybe I should get him that Kobalt ball-peen hammer tomorrow when I go to Lowes..........
  17. LARGE received his 58-piece (China-Made) 3/8ths & 1/4 drive Craftsman set tonight from SWMBO, myself, and his brothers and sister. It did not matter to him that it was made in China. I did not bring it up, and he did not mention it. You guys should have all seen the look on his face, he was as happy as a pig in shit. His Haynes small engine repair manual is due to be delivered on Monday, and he has been hitting youtube videos explaining engines for the last 2-3 weeks. I have the computer programmed not to show any 2-cycle diesel videos.
  18. true that b615rich.....true that.
  19. I think Imma gonna return the Shitsman set and go get a Kobalt set.
  20. WTF? I was wondering what ate the bottom of the Christmas Tree. You couldn't knock on the door and have a cup of coffee? That's pretty ignorant, I'd expect that from Hatcity. And since you were here why couldn't ya drop off the secret sauce? My eggs have been boring lately.

  22. I was assured that the lifetime "No questions asked" guarantee still stands with the china-made craftsman crap. I will have to look into Fastnal, there's a store not too far from the house. Looking into Kobalt. I actually like their garden tools (no not Detroits.) Hatcity- I have three boys. If I am going to get a basic set of tools and a box for all three of them and get them off "The Truck" I will go into Bankruptcy in the year 2022 when Small turns 11, and there will be no money left to buy Extra Small a set of tools when she turns 11 in the year 2025. Most of my stuff is off "The Truck" and I do not wish to do that three or four more times.
  23. So friggen mad right now, could punch a baby goat. Since when in the hell are Craftsman tools made in China? Went into the Craftsman store to Large his first socket set for his 11th bday (around the same time my old man got me my first set) only to be kicked in the nutsack by those three words everywhere I looked. What the hell??? I sucked it up and got him the China-Craftsman set. I looked around (Proto from Grainger, SK and a few others) but they're all too expensive. Dad gave me my first set on my 11th bday, he sat me down and told me "a good quality american-made set of tools will last you a lifetime. You take care of them, they'll take care of you." I still have that very first set thirty plus years later. I really wanted to do the same thing for my boys....Start a tradition......I dunno....Guess I'm just nostalgic.
  24. I installed an Airtex model number E8012S which feeds the 554 CID Wauky adequately. We did calculations and it was suitable for an 817 Wauky, so I assume it should be ok for a 707.
  25. Personally, you have gone this far. What's a little more dissassembly going to do to the schedule or budget? I dont know if splitting them will make it easier to remove from the chassis, but personally if I were in your shoes I would split them just for the sake of making a good visual inspection of the flywheel and clutch.
