  1. You made rubber guns, now that's classy, we just used a stick or no stick at all, just held our fingers and arms the right way for our weapon of choice, we made our own noise and by the noise that was made you could tell what type of gun you had And there was always that one kid that would change guns at will just to kill you and then one hell of a argument would break out, some times we would end trying to throw punches and rolling around on the ground doing our best to beat each other senseless Funny enough we would all go home mates and never held grudges No parents ever got involved as we all new that first kid they would belt would be their own My how times have changed and for the most part, not for the better Paul
  2. Thats a bugger, I wont even speculate as to what has happened as it doesn't really matter now and would be pretty poor form Anything can be fixed, as a fella once said to me "with enough patience and persistence you can stretch a mosquitoes bum over a wheel burrow" And that truck is no were near that bad Paul
  3. Of you like, I'll make some enquiries on Monday in Australia if thats of any help, unless someone comes up with answer beforehand They are like a cross between 58's and 44's Paul
  4. Yes I have had a Federal truck that today is along similar lines, not quite so advanced as yours , hmmmmmm I do wonder if I'll live long enough lol Paul
  5. I have had the air supply line ware thru on the alternator were the air line comes up from the chassis Paul
  6. Must be a great fealing to have things going back together All your hard work is paying off Paul
  7. To clear a few things up in my peanut sized brain This isnt a tip turbine motor or is it (CAC) I gather is some short abbreviated thing for after cooler or something along those lines Rough idle or hunting as it is called in Australia is very common on old mechanical injector pump motors so nothing maybe a problem there So some real basic tests Does it make lots of smoke and does the smoke clear as the boost climbs ? If it doesn't make smoke your not getting fuel, dont panic it might be really really simple fix If it makes smoke and it doesn't clear up your lacking air, once again dont panic this may also be a really simple fix Before you pull anything apart you need to sort out whats going on or more to the point, what isnt going on Paul
  8. It will climb fine, as said, coming down will be more interesting A nice low gear, usually a gear lower than you climbed is my rule of thumb, most people say the same gear but I'm a pussy lol Paul
  9. As Joey and Swishman have said, a picture and we still use them out here Paul
  10. The manifolds are on the wrong side for the Reo, IH motors dont appear to have a water manifold at all Ford are wrong as are Chev, I reckon it looked a bit like a John Deere Header (combine for you Yanky lot) motor lying in the grass at the farm Will have a look tomorrow night if I remember Hmmmmmmm Paul
  11. I would think France would be the go for a lot of things but most people in Australia rarely buy genuine anything and normally shop aftermarket Paul
  12. People find that once a stainless sleeve is fitted you never have another problem This only applies to vehicle's that aren't driven often Wheel cylinders get rust in them and the seals dont last long after that If it was mine I would go all the way and fix what ever had to be fixed and if it was looked after it would probably out last me While its apart I would check king pins the lot and just fix it once Paul
  13. Im as dumb as the rest of these buggers on here as I have no idea what your talking about Your going to need to give us a little more information, what type and model of motor, what model truck If you are unsure on these just take some whole photos of the truck and the motor and I'm sure we can start to point you in the right direction Paul
  14. Loosing prime and a little bit of air is getting in and hunts until the air is pumped out ? Check the fuel return line for leaks Paul
  15. Ebay is the place to start, ever person in America that has one of these that comes on the forum gets the same dribble about parts not been obtainable, yet if we just punch in the make model etc the parts are almost always right there on ebay Or as Joey has said, get the shoes relined and wheel cylinders re-done with a stainless steel sleeve and their will never be a problem again You will need to find a parts place were the first question asked isn't "whats the vin number" as I doubt you will get a kit over the counter, they will need to measure the bore, the people that stainless sleeve them will be able to do all of that any way And the prices have never been crazy dear type of thing if you bring them in from Europe yourself Good luck Paul
  16. What thread, Trucking News ? Never read everything but I did read a lot of stuff when KS was contributing to it Paul
  17. And what a fleet, yes it is neat as pin and not over done as a lot of trucks appear to be these days Looks great to me Paul
  18. Dunno if they are or arent available What makes you think its worn out ? I had my turbine apart recently and there really didnt appear to be anything to bugger up on the valve It is spring loaded and I had just cleaned around it etc as best I could Even if they arent available I think just a normal check valve from a plumbers would work in the short bit of hose Paul
  19. Well Im sure I'll be told Im wrong but I reckon it wasnt to fit the motor in but rather to distinguish it from a six cylinder and to let more heat out The turbo would of been extremely close to fire wall Paul
  20. Mack trucks were a very clever design, the bodies were built in such a way that even right up to the late 90's (last of the R models) fit and fitment of panels was well camouflaged so nothing really had to line up that well to give a good appearance Looks good to me Paul
  21. Only down side with that style hitch is it allows the tractor and trailer to put you in sticky situations before you know whats happened It puts a lot of weight a long way back, ideal for just poking around the yard but very unpredictable at speed Good luck and enjoy Paul
  22. A fuel cell in a wooden box ? is different but if it works thats all that matters
  23. Gotta love that reply wiserfrombud, all we ever read about are how crappy new trucks are, I dont have one as I dont have the use, however if it was my job, day in, day out I wouldn't hesitate in buying a new Mack So Mr Wiser from Bud, do you know what Budlight actually means ? https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=246805740254746 Hope the link works, gave me a chuckle Paul
