mrsmackpaul replied to Frank Y's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I think most tyres are from China or India now, even the good brands Paul -
I do miss his input, I hope he is only busy with life but fear it maybe more As always we shouldn't speculate as none of us have any idea as far as I know Paul

R model circuit breakers.
mrsmackpaul replied to Timmyb's topic in Electrical, Electronics and Lighting
Yes they do look like a biscuit breaker, or very similar to them I have some biscuit breakers that are slightly different, give me a few days (around 10 or so) when I get home after Chrissy and I'll have a measure Paul -

Could well of been, "intrinsically safe" is proper name, in other words, explosion proof or spark proof If it failed it wouldn't cause a spark Australian fuel trucks were generally very lightly specced, so if it has 34 ass end or something along those lines and is single rail it probably was a fuel truck There are no doubt other tell tale signs if you new the right person to ask As I understand it each fuel company had their own specific requirements and I feel these even varied from state to state So if you new the right person to ask you could probably narrow it right down quite easily Paul -
Steering box adjustment?
mrsmackpaul replied to Bigdogtrucker's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I would say oil as bob has suggested, if it leaks like sieve I would just use grease but yours looks pretty good in the photo Paul -
Not so long ago (at least in my mind) all trucks were as you described but now the bigger fleets tend to have just white with vinyl sign writing I would guess 70% are still done up like a dunny truck However our biggest fleets in Australia are still custom painted Dunno about Kiwi land, once this Covid 19 drama is over I wanna load Mrs Mack up on a boat and toodle over to Kiwi land and have a look around for a few years, I'll report back then lol The calender has the big photo of how the truck was when new and then say maybe half a dozen photos of it as it went thru different owners with the last how it is today A really top job by all involved in the calendar Paul

The rules are pretty simple, 1st 2nd or any other amendments dont really count as this forum is world wide and the world does exist out side the 50 states of the US of A So as such the forum has to cater for that and the rules are pretty darn simple, manners, mannners and more manners It's not hard to follow and we are all pretty easy going so it shouldn't be a problem unless we choose to make a problem, I dont and wont Paul

Iron on transfers
mrsmackpaul replied to mrsmackpaul's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I grew up in a town of maybe 100 a people (grew up 3 mile out of town on a farm) and once or twice a year we would go to Colac our next biggest town during school holidays and it was around 10,000 people I remember when my brother and I got a T shirt, the one shown was his and I got a SAR Kenworth on mine The shop was the sporting goods shop and as you described had 100's of iron on transfers I remember I had no idea what was going and Mum getting frustrated as I dicked around, didn't know about transfers at the time It was pretty special to me, yeah I know it's lame by todays standards but they were great old days, I have a feeling mine lost its sleeves when tried to be even cooler one summer Far more fun than today's kids, dragster push bike, a bag full of lollies 5 cents worth (we got the 5 cents for riding the 3 mile to town to get tge Saturday Age paper for Dad), a cool T shirt, shorts and thongs (flip flops I think you blokes call them) Had the tranny (transistor radio) going pumping out some cool tunes What a life Paul -

Who remembers iron on transfers that we would iron onto T shirts back in the 70's and 80's My brother sent me this today Thats his T shirt that his wife saved from the rag bag many many years ago and had just had it framed for him How good were those days, life was so much simpler back then Looks like a Australian coolpower and its pulling a van which back in those days in Australia was extremely rare as every trailer was a flat top with tarps and just the front hurdle Then as years passed the rear hurdle was added and finally gates under the tarps up each side before taught liners came about and almost super seeded flat tops over night I think I just got my self side tracked then, most old age setting in lol Paul

Well after a long nervous wait and lots of balls up on my end it has finally arrived How good is this, 2021 all Kiwi Macks I did let everyone know that these and a Mack NewZealand book is been made but cant find the post now The fellas are making what I believe is gunna be one heck of a book of the first 1000 NewZealand built Macks and it will be released in 2022 to commemorate 50 years since Macks were made in NewZealand I also put a link etc up for that a few years ago and the limited 1000 books for 1000 Macks has long since sold out, so if you have bought one you will be as excited as I am about it all, if not well to late you've missed out lol Anyway as we say out here "I as happy as a fat kid in a lollie shop with a pocket full of change" Paul

mrsmackpaul replied to SkippyMack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
At a guess thats as far as you go Scrape all the dirt out of the oil can on the bottom Do not steam clean any of it as it will cook the dirt on the wire, just wash with petrol or as you lot call it gas Dont use water as it might then rust Anyway thats my thoughts Paul
