  1. It's a shame they didn't make these in 58,000 I don't think the springs even bend on 58's let alone get close to riding like a Cadillac lol Paul
  2. When we sugar cane farmed in North QLD there was feral deer on the island our farm was on We would shoot around 150 a year, chittle deer Never thought of using a mallet Now my boy is grown up and is turning 21 next month I have bought him a 44 Henry as a 21st present Turning is kinda a big deal in Australia Happy times with the kids teaching them real things inlife Cherish these moments as they are over far to quickly Paul
  3. Andrew Kerr name seems to ring a bell Last time I saw it was going thru my old home town with a B double load of sheep on Paul
  4. That's, um , different
  5. How did new sleeper you were making go Vlad I don't recall any up dates for a while, I might have missed them though Paul
  6. What I mean is pretty simple Most times there is a logical explanation for everything I would just wait and see what Pauls response I have been on this forum and another Australian forum for many years and I have noticed we can all get a bit tightly wound at times Some of your comments could be perceived as been a tad abrupt, doesn't mean you cant ask questions or question what people say I reckon all things sort themselves out given time Paul
  7. Well what ever is going on it appears that there is confusion Maybe two trucks left were ordered for the same customer and the customer couldn't take delivery Paul
  8. A lot of the NewZealandacks came RHD from the US As to which plant they cam from I do not know I wrongly assumed that RHD Macks in NZ would all of come from Australia, a lot did and a lot from the US and NZ made their own R and F model's as well Unsure about South Africa and other RHD parts of the world that ran Macks Paul
  9. I would write a letter direct to Mack them selves explaining what has happened No good phoning them, actually use a pen and paper and write it out by hand I would be very surprised if you dont get a positive outcome I would list the name of the people you spoke to at the dealer ship and their response when asking Keep it direct and to the point and factual I have had to do this once in Australia when a dealer just fobbed me off until the warranrty expired and then refused to help Once the factory was involved and telling the dealer what to do it was amazing how quick things changed and minor annoying problems were fixed Paul
  10. I reckon it will use centrifical force to separate the water etc from the fuel Fuel floats on water so as it spins the water flow over the side and the fuel will run down Just a guess Like a centrifical oil filter Just clean and reassemble, last for ever and the engine oil stays spotless Paul
  11. I sez it's kinda sad to see the end of a era I also think people should be proud of just how many years the ACCO lasted Paul
  12. I was only speaking to my mother about this very thing a week or so ago We dont do enough for veterans and their families We ask them to put it all on the line for a cause they might not even agree with but we are to lousy to put out our hands to help after the fighting is over I only learnt my Grandfather who was in the RAAF although he was ground crew , he was a air frame fitter I asked what that was as a child "when they come in like a colander I send em out like a bowl" I never new until only days ago he was a fire fighter in the airforce as well, the memories of the burnt and mangled air crews haunted him to the day he died apparently As I said I only learnt this days ago Most of us only think of the front line troops and the trauma they must suffer I do wonder how far reaching this trama can be Paul
  13. Remembrance day is what its called in Australia It really is quite impressive to see all people from all walks of life just stop work and gather and then return to work without a word been said I was googling before and according to Wikipedia the numbers of men lost in WW1 and also the percentage of the population is quite interesting https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I_casualties#Casualties_in_the_borders_of_1914–18 Well worth a look Paul
  14. Thats kinda yeah well um dunno the right word there However the Mack Big Foot I seem to recall was rated at 250 ton standard from the factory and was built to never be driven on the road and it doesnt have a steel bonnet or hood as you blokes call them A very very tough jigger Paul
  15. As long as it covers the radiator and fits behind the grill I reckon it should work ok Paul
  16. Yeah the exhaust looks a little small though 🤔 Paul
  17. It's been a couple of years since I have had a R model door apart But I do recall, or at least I seem to recall that the door latch (the bit that holds the door shut) has to have its screws undone and it comes out with the door I also seem to recall that the clip that holds the lock barrel in has to be unclipped so the barrel comes out to allow that door latch to slide out of the door jam part of the door I do stand to be corrected on this as my mind isnt as good at rememberibg things as it once was The whole shooting match comes out fairly easy with the door still on the truck I have never tried it with the door off the truck so I cant comment on which way is easier Paul
  18. The did in Australia, it was called the BigFoot It was a Mack Australia factory product https://www.machines4u.com.au/view/advert/Mack-Bigfoot/516977/ Paul
  19. I was wondering were that fish smell was coming from Paul

  22. Yes I would agree and would think it was used in the UK when Germans were bombing London Im guessing it has a generator out the front but I notice it has two radiators Paul
  23. Vlad I have been told by someone that workedfor Mack Australia building Macks that there was templates made up that hung on the firewall etc to drill all corresponding holes for RHD Even the heaters etc were cut and shut to still use the original Mack heaters but all conections were reversed Pedal hangers and brackets cover up all the LHD holes no longer needed You cant tell they have been modified at all until you disassemble them Paul
  24. This photo has just come across a Australian truck forum, no details but different for sure Paul
