  2. I think most Australian conventional cabbed trucks have cabs mounted higher than normal to try and keep the cab floor cool enough to put your feet on. This may have something to do with the hood (bonnet) been steeper as all bonnets are mad in Australia. Paul

  5. Wondering what the plans are for use on of the truck with wanting a 65 ass end I can only guess some pretty heavy haulage type work I wonder how it will ride as Mrs Mack isnt exactly smooth with a 58 ass end Paul

Well for the negativity from people (me included) about these newer types of trucks, it appears that I will have to eat humble pie I wonder what the figures on Australian Macks like the Trident (have had a hard on for one of these for some time) as theu certainly would out pull the old coolpower 320 and be a lot more comfortable Paul

I followed this unit a couple of times now up the Calder hwy and I can tell you that while it might have some benefitsn one thing it doesn't do any good at all is track Maybe at 60 km/h it goes nice and straight but at 90 - 100 km/h it's all over the road like drunk dog ice What a mess, almost impossible to pass safely and doesn't track anywhere near as good as a double road train I hope these don't become common place Paul

Dunno about the other parts of the world, Australia was built by men who weren't affraid to push the limits way beyond what was acceptable Our troops fought and won plenty of unwinable battles around the world We have cattle stations bigger than Texas in some of the most inhospitable country in the world Thats how things change and improve in the world, by men pushing harder and further than ever before (mind out of the gutter) Paul

Yes you do need a fare whack of power torque and momentum to shift bigger weights at any sort of speed Having said that it still is quite a impressive feat, that many trailers along a dirt road with by today's ststandards very little horse power If people could even begin to try and understand just how much traction is needed to lift off with a load like that let alone add a gravel road And who has seen this video Paul

  21. Mate I dont do as much as I used to We were dairy farmers for many years before moving to the other end of Australia and grew sugar cane We never made any money growing cane so changed over to hay beans millet and other crops Hay ended up been our main income though Paul

Had a quiet week so helped a few friends out But first unloaded a whole heap if RSJ's for a shed we are gunna build, around 24 ton of steel, maybe more but wasnt brave enough to head ro weigh bridge Then I jumped in the little Isuzu and bought a Studebaker home for my mate His wife has claimed it as her cat Then a Chev for another friend Followed by a C Line International and Freighter McGrath strap trailer Saw a sunset or two And watched the bush TV for a few nights All in all a good week spent with some good friends Life doesn't get much better than that Paul

Those power spin out rims are called P.A.V.T power adjustable variable track (todays useless information lol) We never had many tractors with variable wheel tracks until recent years as most of Australia is broad acre farming not row crop farming I have had many tractors over the years but I seem to hang on to these two My good old C 670 Chamberlain, the best tractor I have ever owned, up graded to the other Chamberlain with a cab Paul
  25. Had this old Chamberlain longer, it was the first tractor I had with a cab, they're a Australian brand that got bought out by John Deere in the 70's I think it was They were the most popular tractor sold in Australia for some years from the 70's - the 80's Paul
