  2. if you couldnt keep uni joints in with a 453 how is a 6 53 gunna fix this problem ???? I hope your checking yoke angles as you go as this seems to be the main reason unis fail all the time The little 53 series are something you either love or hate and Im most likely on the wrong side for you the 71 and 92 series are much more pleasant to drive for any distance Good luck and keep us posted Paul
  3. They were some brave men back then. I don't know they achieved a whole lot but would no doubt boosted morale back back in the US after Pearl Harbor. I saw a documentary the other day, can't remember where. Anyway, it was about the battle of Okinawa. The figures were staggering, almost impossible to believe. The amount of people that died in a very short period of time and most committed suicide rather surrender, whole families jumping off cliffs, just mind boggling. The US troops would have had mental scars for the rest of their lives that experienced that, something I hope no one will ever have to go thru again. Sorry have taken this off topic a bit. Paul
  4. Hey I cant see the pictures ????? IMG something comes up Paul
  5. no more information then ???? Paul

  9. Me thinx you may be right and they will have there hand in your pocket before they reach there target and if they dont reach me also thinx they wont give you a refund Wot sez you Swish Man ???? Paul
  10. Came across this photo while on the web tonight of a P.I.E truck in Europe. I reckon there wouldn't have many Atkinson trucks pulling their trailers I wouldn't have thought. Paul
  11. A lot of the European trucks that ran down to the middle east had kitchens in the cab. I'm pretty sure most European truck companies offered a middle east special. From what I have read, it all came to a abrupt end with the first Gulf war. Paul
  12. Thats a strange looking Mack to my eyes it almost looks a bit like SAR KW type of a B model Very cool jigger just the same Paul
  13. When I was a young fella some mates went to the US and onto Europe for a holiday of 66 or 9 months I dunno exactly I didnt go I asked them the same question about using the wrong hand to change gears When they got to LA they bought a old wagon for their trip across the US and one of the blokes was doing racing changes and next thing all were and one bloke jumps in the drivers seat for his turn and goes to change gears but opens the door instead Dunno how true this it but all sounded good when I was young and having a few beers with them when they got home Paul
  14. buggered if I know, hoping some one on here might be able to tell us
  15. yeah it sort of takes the shine off going for a dip Plus theres heaps of things in the water up here that hurt and kill you beside sharks Paul
  16. Well news fresh at hand this shark was found on the main land side of Rita Island road that went under a couple of days ago BTW I live on Rita Island Thats the cane train tram line on the left of the photo we are stuck on the Island side of this photo this is the main land side My son new all about this young people and there electronic gadgets LOL We had 2 meters of water over the bridge Paul
  17. mainly for noise I reckon Paul
  18. A question for you all as you all are a lot smarter than me. What do you call a collection of Superliners??? A gaggle, a mob or perhaps a herd or flock? Maybe a flotilla or perhaps a platoon ????? I dunno but I saw this bit of film on YouTube the other day and thought to myself, "that's something you won't see any more", all them Superliners lifting off, most pulling 6 decks one after another and two appear to be the rare Bicentennial ones a few thousand horsepower. I can almost feel the ground shaking from here. Dunno if the ground shakes in the US, but when those Mack E9's are lifting off with real big loads on, I reckon I can feel the ground shaking. Don't seem to get that with a new electronic engines. Notice they have the proper Mack bunks that appeared to be only fitted in Australia. A short snippet of what sounds like a German documentary to me. I think the first one is an old SAR KW or maybe a W900. Either all good trucks from the pre-electronic BS days. Paul
  19. mate we have done pretty good flooded in and all the crops are on a angle but all is good Was told today another big blow is building up in the Coral Sea, dunno how true this is time will tell the ocean is still really warm so anything can happen Paul
  20. yeah mate all good the cyclone only missed us by around 50 km but we were on the northern edge so just a bucket of wind and not much rain until last night and we were getting a inch a hour for a while, still blowing a gale out side from the north west now (very unusual) and the rain has cleared up but we will be flooded in for a few days at least The bridge to the island went under around 9 last night Paul
  21. Looks sharp Steve as I said I have seen a lot of these done (as in raised a few inches) over the years and its a very common thing out here theres only a few that have had this treatment or style of treatment as shown on the top of this thread Dunno what they was thinking but Im sure it seemed a good idea at the time Paul
  22. The cabs been raised the 4 inches no doubt for heat as in heat in the cab The R model cab floors get so hot when pulling hard for long periods that the floor and lower parts of the cab will burn your skin and you have to wear shoes I have heard stories about thongs (flip flops to you blokes I think) getting melted to the go pedal Raising the R model cabs is very common here I have seen some R 700's done like that sort of several different styles of bonnet extension, but most just put a stainless or aluminium strip between the bumper and bonnet or leave the gap Dunno if its 86 model as I would have thought the value liner was well and truly out by then That one is as ugly as a hat full of assholes Paul
  23. Of all the worlds long distance trucking Europe TIR and the blokes that went to the middle east from Europe amaze me the most for a lot of the reasons mentioned above Fantastic stuff and thanks for sharing Paul
  24. Now if I was to come to the US were would I find these snow bunnies ?????? Paul
