  2. Does Mack in the US do anything like this ???? I find Mack Australia really good to deal with always have and have nothing but good words for them I guess thats why they sell so many trucks out here it isnt because they are cheap trucks from China they go extra mile and that is something you cant put a price on as far as Im concerned Still think KW are the biggest seller but Mack cant be to far behind any more A big thumbs up to the team at Mack Australia from me Paul
  3. WTF is going over there no wonder Tim wants to go to NZ to live thats outrageous I always work on the theory good news or bad I need to know whats going on and we can then work towards fixing it Paul
  4. 3.5 MPG triple road train 5.6 MPG B double they are pretty good figures BUT a cool power Mack was getting figures like that 30 years ago a bit slower a lot less power but was still getting those figures Have we really moved that far forward some might ask ? but after 14 hours sweating your ring out in a hot R model cab I bet you feel a tad bit different hopping out of the new Scania, a tad bit different might be a understatement Paul
  5. You blokes ever have the EA 9 610 over in the US or does the A mean Australia looks like a pretty ballsy motor Paul
  6. good on her as I say to people you only live once try to fill that life up doing the stuff you wanna do no matter how crazy it may seem Sad part is we cant seem to get young people working these days yet older ones are more than happy to keep on working funny world Paul
  7. yes they do it their own way at Simons and do it well Im fairly sure I wonder how many drivers from the US would find driving at what must be 55 MPH for 4 hours at a time as from what I read on here they travel at 70 all the time or maybe I have that wrong What I really like is its only around 560 Hp for 96 tons must have great big bucket load of torque to go along with that Paul
  8. from the grain farmers I have spoken to when I was milking cows 1 good year in 5 is what they bank on dry land when they are stripping irrigated wheat the headers (you blokes call them combines ) are crawling along at a snails pace and field bins all up and down the bays and yes very high yeilds like over there on irrigated crops have had a few years were it blows dust nearly every day for six months and the sky is red from around 3 in the afternoon Back from 2002 till 2005 the farmers didnt have enough water for even a chemical fallow was some dry years from 2001 - 2010 and then massive floods to be a farmer gotta have rocks in your head yet Im still farming LOL not real bright hey ??? A lot of the farmers went back to a cultivation fallow didnt help the dust problem but they had little choice But when it rains its like the garden of Eden its beautiful and the colours are so bright of all the crops it almost hurts your eyes driving along the roads enough dribble from me Paul

  11. yeah crazy stuff but the yields must be good to warrant the special machines most wheat growing areas in Australia only yield a ton to the acre on a good year and some years they dont even get there seed back Paul

  17. I dont think its called spill timing in the US but it sets the time the injector fires as how far advanced or retarded the injectors are in relation ship to the crank and on some motors if its not right they can be real hard to start when cold and feel low on power when under load so its very important that it is correct I think if you pulled the injector pump and refitted it , it would still be wise to check the timing it would be like pulling a head on a motor and refitting it and not checking the valve clearance to me It doesnt cost anything to do only time gives you good piece of mind that is still correct and once again Glen feel free to put me straight if I have all this wrong Paul
  18. mate if you have never driven in Australia on country roads you will have no idea how bad it is I have seen it this bad plenty of times no joke and I aint pulling your leg Paul

  20. It is hard to believe that it wasnt that long ago China had Tianamen Square massacre I just Googled it 1989 only seems like yesterday to me, it was only 12 months before that at Expo 88 in Brisbane China announced to the world it wanted to become the world power house and we (the rest of the world sat back and laughed) shows what you can achieve if you all work together I remember watching maybe 60 minutes and they were building power stations at a astronomical rate something 5 times quicker than the western world and all done with bugger all machinery they showed footage of them carrying the cement in cane baskets pouring the footings amazing China really caught us sleeping Sorry way of topic but this truck looks so modern and thats just over 25 years ago WOW Im getting old Paul
  21. Also a tad bit more useless information from the small amount I know about governors its not the springs that need replacing the pivots wear on the fly weights and associated mechanism and all those bits need replacing and then the springs need to be adjusted to suit this may only apply to Caterpillar engines but I reckon theres a good chance the Mack governor will work on the same principle all in all it isnt a simple job and it is easy muck a injector pump if you dont know what your doing plenty have over the years anyway I will shut up other wise you will never get your pump off Hang on one more thing and Glen please correct me if Im wrong these have to be spill timed once the injector pump has been pulled off and if you dont know how to do that someone on here maybe able to talk you thru it when I did mine it was a two person job there maybe a way to do it on your own if it has to be done which I think it will I will shut up now Paul
  22. If your gunna pull the pump the whole pump has to go to the shop a good shop should only fix what is wrong in my opinion if the pump isnt your problem they should be able to tell you that as well with out spending fortune to find out Paul
  23. What Glen says to much can go wrong if you make a mess of it Paul
