  1. Can you here air leaking past the knob all the time if so it would be a good indication the regulator is set to high and whats the story with the D 8 ????? just wondering Paul

  3. yep as terry has said if the air pressure is to high as soon as you flick the switch it tries to shift but the straight cut sliding dogs prevent it from shifting until theres no pressure on the gears ie when you take the load off either backing off the gas going up a gear or when you push the clutch in changing down the only other thing I could think it might be is the the sliding dog or the gears are badly worn but I would lean towards the air pressure Paul

WOW what a great read some one over that way should get an old Maxidyne load it up go out on the roads and do some time trials add it the story I think a lot of us might be surprised and would add a modern touch to a great read I think a lot of people would be surprised how well these pull even now even better do some trails against some modern trucks of the same class I think there would be some shocked faces even more so if you add the fuel figures and that Maxidyne bark OH baby sounds so much better than some young boys cruising around with there DOOF DOOF music going great read thanks for sharing Paul
  15. if it had a few years on it I would say radiator sounds like its blocked in the tubes I'd pull the tanks off and rod the radiator core if it was mine is the fan clutch thingo working properly ?????????? Paul

  18. some specs for Mack 1976 shows the R 800 and the rest at the time Paul I seem to have flanged that I couldnt read it so I uploaded it thru photo bucket and deleted the other one but its still there I dont have to try hard for me to look silly
  19. some time ago I mentioned that I had seen a photo of a what I thought was a R 800 pulling logs in Western Australian well I stumbled across the photo again today so thought I better share before I forget were it was I dont know if it is a R 800 looks like a 6x6 to me I have no idea what it is either way I like it and the one bellow with the float on the back seeya Paul

  21. good size sticks of timber there Ray the logs must have hit pretty hard to smash a engine block I guess the main thing is the driver was ok his under pants maybe not Paul
