  1. Hmm is quite correct conflicting Dr reports good old google if you only had one crook injector what theakerstwo says is correct but if theres two and they follow each other in the firing order it will hunt and still perform with great big gobs of power under load thats why I say pull the injectors your self and take them to someone who knows what they are doing and have them checked not rebuilt just checked. In Australia smaller places have checked injectors while Im standing there they take me into the shop and show me what there doing and checking and I have never being charged for this either were as bigger shops tend to say leave them over there and come back later today ! And when you come back the parts are always worn and need to be replaced of course there worn there not new but are they worn out ??????????? and if I spend the coin getting these fixed or rebuilt is it going to fix the problem ???? I always prefer to find whats wrong first then spend money to fix the actual problem Paul
  2. mate the link thingo is not working for me Paul
  3. it would be loud straight out pipe by the look of it looks like there is plenty of room for an extra two cylinders 12V71 maybe
  4. I would pull the injectors out first and have them checked need to go someone who really nos there stuff not some place that just read it out a book Paul

  6. he needs some cross locks drive right out not a problem lol Paul
  7. I no in Queensland if the internal length of a stock crate is under 41 feet approx including all gates ect there is no weight limit as many as you can fit I think but might be wrong livestock travel a lot further in Australia than anywhere else in the world it wouldn't be uncommon for cattle to travel over a 1000 miles with out being unloaded so if you load sheep with a full fleece in one part of the country and it rains on the way you can pick up more than 10 ton on a trip Fruehauf did try and sell trailers like the the one above back here 70's they called them Possom Belly but they never took off , cant fit enough cows in cant convert to a normal flat top if needs be slow to load and I think the thing that killed it in the end was the advent of the triaxle which allowed for two 41 foot decks of cattle or 3 decks of sheep and later 4 decks of sheep with advent of purpose built trailers all trailers in Australia are 8foot 2 1/2 inchs out side width or 2.5 meters width enough waffle from me Paul ps can through up some photos of the Fruehauf trailer if anyone is interested
  8. well the good news is its not just over in the states were this crap happens the first thing any of them ask is whats it for as if that makes any difference its a battery gods sake how hard is it sales man experts it gets to the stage I dread going to see these fools Paul

  11. it might have to go out the deep reduction end ? its been a while since I've had mine apart and I was taught you cant split the trans on the truck should be pulled out and stood up on its bell housing I have never had to force these gear boxes apart to work on them it it dosnt come apart or together easy somethings wrong well that was the way I was taught mind you I was not trained by Mack just another bloke working in his back yard I have had my 12 speed apart a couple of times and it was fairly simple Paul
  12. Is it still standing up on its bell housing if not it may need to be Paul

  16. WOW I have looked at this thread a few times theres diff ratios I just find hard to believe or perhaps Im just way out of touch you blokes would be having a heart attack with my diffs Im pretty sure they are 5.73 12speed OD and rated 115 ton will get around 3.5-4.5 MPG depending on wind 85 kph top cruising speed get around 6.5 MPG at 42 ton a lot different figures than you all run horses for courses I guess Paul
  17. Well do I have some good news for you there are plenty out here !! It is hard to believe that they were major interstate trucks in there day grossing out 42.5 tons or 85000 lbs doing trips just as quick as todays trucks well almost as quick and they still make them here . Its just goes to show if you make what people want and not try to tell them, what they need you can compete against the cheap imports but they have to listen to what customers tell them they want a recent post thread thing'o' springs to mind about about Ford relaunching a F truck in Brazil http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/35823-ford-re-launches-f-4000-at-brazils-agrishow/ Maybe Im not real smart but the car manufactures cant seem to see this in Australia and yet the truck people can perhaps they need to look closer at what other companys do Paul
  18. is it getting power to the small wires on the solenoid or just the big wire ? Paul
  19. yep as stated above you lot are in a mess there used to be a saying once "only in America" that we all used when something amazing happened it still gets used but for different reasons good luck sorting out you mess just many zeros are in a trillion thats a whole truck load thats for sure There is one US TV personality who says "you cant fix what you dont acknowledge" some body on here might need to drop that off to the man you have in charge !!! Also when Im driving down the hwy and I make wrong turn the further I keep going the wrong way before i turn around the longer takes to get back track .Good luck getting back on track None of this is been a smart ass just simple observation from me and yes we do have our own problems here in Australia but man you have got a doozie over there Paul
  20. hey watch it you blokes are gonna go blind soon Paul
  21. thats good to hear the problem solved I dont worry about using the clutch to split just flick the switch and back off the go pedal and then straight back into it if dosnt shift clean straight away you have some other problem . Just a word of warning if your mate hasn't driven one of these and are used to a shudder "road ranger" ur yuck as soon as flick the switch it puts pressure on the selector fork trying to change it were as the the other inferior brand only try to change when the stick goes thru neutral Paul
  22. the shifter rods under the lids might have some surface rust maybe? you can take the lids off with the box still in getting the rear lid back well he will a whole fresh bunch of swear words . Has he looked the air rams maybe there leaking? "O" rings maybe buggered ? good luck with this Paul
  23. that will teach you to fall a sleep congrats some times I fall asleep and when I wake its like a whole new world Paul
