  2. what happened to the stuff the honing tool was cleaning out I guess what Im asking is the crap you tryng to get out what stopped it going in on the other cylinders ? Might pay you to try and clean the rest of them out as well just thinking out allowed Paul
  3. ground thawed now I know you blokes are pulling my leg ground thawed yeah right they must all think Im silly seriously I never thought of that I have never tried to dig frozen ground never have seen it it's new to me our winters are that mild in Australia our trees dont loose there leaves or anything we dont have a season called fall we just have autumn up in the tropics were I live we dont have winter spring or summer autumn just the wet season and the dry season Mate that sheds looking good plenty of size but always can be bigger as my dad always "you can never have to many shed's" he is such a wise old thing and seemed to get smarter as I got older funny that Paul
  4. my god I am a lazy ass you are making me look slack top job Paul
  5. that view looking out the windscreen is one I dont think I will ever tire of Paul
  6. ask her about her map of Tassy then you'll see a real dangerous Aussie Paul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMdbVHPmCW0
  7. you put a board on the ground under the duels leave the wheels on the hub knock the axle out have the board well greased on the side facing up undo the bearings and slowly lower down on a jack until the wait is off the bearing then slide the wheels and hub together once the wheel is clear roll not quite one turn away (not so the grease touches the ground) remove board then you have a nice clean area to work do the reverse when putting it back together no lifting required and can be done on the side of the road on your own at least thats what I have done the main thing I learn from this type of discussion is how requirements are different around the world for what we need just because some thing works in our wide brown land dosnt mean it's any good else were Thanks for the discussion fella's Paul
  8. gives a whole new meaning to been in the dog house Paul
  9. nah mate your just looking in the mirror
  10. welcome aboard Paul
  11. Just a bit more I feel NZ is a very under estimated place to have a look at I have never been but am chomping at the bit to get over and have a looksee Paul
  12. thats a pretty classy trailer there they sure have made some special gear over there to get around corners over the years if you get a chance check out there self steering trailers they arent used much any more over there the semi follows the prime mover like a dog trailer and dosnt track in when going round corner's heres some pics of what to look for the tri axles are all mounted on the one frame that pivots on the trailer it self the first six photos from the road ranger blog http://www.roadranger.co.nz/ the last picture fro Atkipete HCVC forum http://www.hcvc.com.au/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1288086035 sorry to hijack the the post topic thingo but to interesting not to have a lookI reckon while your over there Paul

  15. I've been having a crappy sort of day but that has just changed my whole day thanks Paul
  16. I think back in the day every truck driver in Australia prefered spiders spokes daytons what ever you call them because tyres were no were near as good as they are now and flats were common depending on were you were 3 or 4 flat tyres a day so when you had those Bud rims with 2 rows of nuts to undo if it was a inside duel or when the inner nut sticks to the outer one and you have to stuff around and its 100 degrees in the shade those five or six stud spiders look like a dream Having said all that today I hardley ever see any truck sold with spiders tyres are better roads are a dream and no more bloody double rows of nuts are the good old day hey Paul
  17. I think every one has just about summed it up I have said it before on here back in the sixtys when Maixidynes first came out in OZ they did a road test between Melbourne and Sydney and they proved that although the Maxidyne felt slower over a long journey it proved to be quicker and cheaper to run than anything else that was around on the day Just a bit more useless information Melbourne to Sydney is about 800 km and crosses our biggest mountain range twice so before spending big heaps of coin you cant get back it might just pay to check some figures Paul
  18. Swishy you are so much wiser than me with all them flash words but I reckon you have got all about right only one more thing left to add doing the nuts with a rattle gun will wreck them studs quick as look at you and you only find out when you are on the side of the road change a flat bag swearing about the young whipper snapper the did them with a rattle gun because a five spoke spider dont hold on any good with only four nuts gotta keep stopping every half and hour and re tighteen nuts Swishy why arent you Geeloooooooooooooooooooooong ?????????? Paul
  19. do you know what we call motor bike riders in in Australia ? temporary Australians ! Paul
  20. or perhaps a R model and Fruehauf crate from the land down under hang on the steering wheel is in the wrong spot what clown did that ??? Paul
  21. dunno about that I have only broken a center bolt twice and it pretty much becomes uncontrollable straight away like Im driving a yacht down the road I end real busy real quick on the steering wheel if it was mine I would fix it while its apart when I have broken a center bolt I have to pull up straight away and wrap some fencing wire or chain around the axle to the spring hanger just so it drives half reasonable Paul
  22. How do blokes work in that cold brrrrrr I remember working on construction in Melbourne I worked on lifts or elevators as you call them over there and we were putting lifts in anyway there is no lift doors on the lift shaft so its like a big chimney freezing cold hands sticking to anything steel we had to be big girly men and were gloves no one in Australia wear's gloves anyway one of the fitters he is doing up a rail clamp and the spanner breaks and gives him this black eye and the spanner is stuck to his black eye so we go down to the smoko shed and pour warm water over his face and spanner to get them to release thats the coldest I have ever worked in brrr looks like that shed is coming along great Paul I realize that story is most likely pretty lame buy everyones standards over in there but or climate is no were near that cold in this wide brown land
  23. anything with snow is pretty cool looking to me brrrrrrrrrrr Paul
