  1. Okay, simple answer is pull some shims out of here The round doo hickie with 4 bolts thru it This will put more tension on your governor spring so the motor revs harder before the rack starts to close the pump off Pure WAG (wild ass guess) from a dumb ass but I reckon you'll see a result Paul

Glad it's Friday for some, day 15 was Friday and today (Saturday in Australia) is 16 days with out stopping Glad I'm only young, can't imagine what I would feel like if I was bornt last century, I mean I would be old and really stuffed Oh hang on I was and I am 😂 Joey some years ago it was suggested I see a kinesiologist, I was sceptical but I can tell you it made a huge difference I don't feel like Im 21, maybe more like my mid 30's Kinesiology only works on muscles and releasing tension, I squealed like a little bitch, she was only using her thumb but new were and how touch the muscle tendons I was squealing and farting and apologizing for farting all at the same time This having to make a dollar gets in the way of having fun in life Paul

If the brake pedal is going to the floor and your not stopping properly it sounds like your brakes are out of adjustment Now for old school junk like I have the slack adjuster should be set at right angles to the chamber rod Then adjust the brakes up The rod shouldn't moce past 90° on full pressure It sounds like (as others have said) you have jumped a S cam Pull the slack adjusters off and soak in diesel and bung them in vice and put a rattle gun and work them round and then soak a bit longer You will be surprised at just how dry old grease will be Slack adjusters rarely need changing unless the locking part is stripped Hook shop air up and give full allocations and watch and listen Wedge a bit of wood between the seat or steering wheel so you can hold the full application and walk about and listen Some ideas Paul

I think it's a European truck and as such it looks pretty good, not saying that European trucks are ugly but they do have a different style to the U.S. At the end of the day the looks don't matter for 99% of trucks operating in the world, it's the dollars and cents that make it work or not I'm fairly certain these will sell okay and if available in Australia and NewZealand they would sell like hot cakes Paul

  16. When hauling sugar cane the trash gets sucked in everywhere We would carry long rods, say a few feet long with a hook on one end and loop to hang your hand thru and pull the trash out a few times a day Paul

  18. I think most times the fuel should return to a tank on one side and draw off the other side, this keeps all the fuel fresh and also keeps the fuel cooler Paul

A lot is gunna depend on the part your chasing and how quick you want it Air freight is pretty dear, especially if it is heavy or bulky I have bought plenty of parts from the States before for plenty different bits of gear Champions may be able to send stuff thru Mack at a really good price, I know Cat will take ACMOC stuff for stuff all, ACMOC is Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club I feel Mack will or would do the same for getting stuff from the State's Big companies have shipping containers booked every single day going all over the world empty or full and Cat would some times put our gear in a empty container coming to Australia A lot of big companies ship charities gear all over the world for free like this But it can take quite a while to get there I know of two people that ship from the U.S. to Australia regularly and I pay by the cubic meter in the shipping container There is no doubt the same tin boxes heading back State side If you are prepared to muck about a bit it can be much cheaper I have sent stuff for people on the forum before but freight is a challenge bothways Paul

I know nothing about anything worth knowing But this is exactly what I would do And not just the thread, also the surface on the end of the nut How accurate is a torque setting if it is binding up, I would think not very accurate at all Think about doing up head studs, they don't jump or bind, even when I have done them on my D7 they are a long gentle smooth turn, I can't remember what they were but they were pretty high My point is if the nut is jumping, I would undo and make it spotless and lube it up and then torque the studs up slowly keeping them even and in steps Paul

  22. Would want to make sure the wheel has enough room There isn't a huge amount of extra room on a R model However I have seen smaller diameter old style steering wheels so I think it could be done as long as there isn't push buttons and things built into the wheel you already have Paul
  23. I would be guessing to allow oscillation at different points when a sway bar type of deal is used to the chassis rail Maybe the whole deal gets to stiff and not enough movement is allowed Paul
  24. But isn't this truck still under warranty? If it is found to be missing parts your other trucks have then I would expect Mack should be sorting this issue not you Once you have found whats wrong it should be up to them, if you start changing bits and pieces will that effect the rest of the trucks warranty But yes, it does appear to be have some wrong parts, thanks to everybofy that has picked this up, I didn't notice Paul
