  2. All I can think of is this style of thing So other dog, do you put a bone thru your nose when cooking ? Sounds like a wonderful stew, sort of grew up on stews, always tasted better cold the next day on toast, still do The Princess isn't a patch on stew making compared to my mothers, the Princess puts pasta (yuck yuck yuck 🤮) in stew, cant do a full days work on pasta lol Yes I am not a pasta man, funny how our taste buds are set as children, apparently the older style meat and 3 veg Australian type of meals are pretty bland by world standards I have been cooking for the last week or so as the Princess has had a knee replaced, I haven't made her crook yet and she isn't complaing, she is starting to give instructions on my cooking as she gets better In the mean time I have been busy putting (not finished yet) ducted heating and cooling in the house Hell of a job, the indoor unit is now all mounted in the roof space, I split it in two as both bits weighed 260 lbs and Im to old saggy to lift that in on my own Here is the second half entering the roof Roofs been open a few days now, had a few mm of rain one day and over a 100°f another day The old swampy AC is still working so pulled the ducting off that to keep the roof space cooler Happy stew eating everyone Joey the sand blasting of pots etc I think would be fine as long as they have no grease in them, sand blasting greasy things I have found is pretty use less, or perhaps it is just me Paul

So apparently 2 Brockways (I am looking into this more) got imported into Australia from Vietnam before the fall of Vietnam So I am guessing these were U.S. Navy and I am also guessing that U.K. motors imported them, they imported all types of everything, specialising in Pommy trucks and buses into Australia from across the globe, anywhere in the once British Empire now known as the Commonwealth This sort of is making sense Anyway some quick googling finds me this picture of a Brockway in Vietnam Looking kinda familiar to the other two photos And here is the article I found the clipping in https://www.wearethemighty.com/mighty-history/vietnam-vet-agent-orange/ I know one truck went to north Eastern Victoria and the other to South Eastern Victoria Anyway this has gained my interest for no particular reason except the story behind these unusual trucks in Australia and how they came to get here Paul

They really are good to watch, very interesting stuff Their logging idea makes sense, recharge down hill with logs pushing the load, them drive back up on the already charged battery Only problem for Australia is we dont have huge mountain ranges like the US or Canada And I dunno about the steering wheel in the middle and if that will pass ADR But good on them for having a go Paul

Brocky I looked into importing a whole truck a coupke of months ago It can be done but a whole truck is very challenging, especially if it's older 2015 As far as parts go, this isnt a problem, especially for road going vehicles, farm machinery and earth moving equipment are a lot harder but are also do-able, quarantine into Australia is really strict on these two as we already have enough accidental imports like prickly pare and grasses and fruit flies and so on There are a few people I know that I just pay per square meter on the floor of the shipping container Funny enough most of these people export out of Chicago??? and not the west coast which seams really strange but it is apparently cheaper I have bought a lot of tractor parts (farm tractor parts) and dozer parts in over the years for my own use I would get up real early in the morning and call the U.S. and place the order, then go to town and wire the money across and then wait a few months and things arrived These days I just google it, pay with a debit card and if it isn't heavy it is hear with in 14 days At times it is quicker to get stuff in from overseas than it is the same part in Australia, Most times it's half the price or there abouts Paul

Bob I don't know that I do need a dertain class license, I know for up to a certain weight all I need is a international permit But I best to find out before I get there Getting into the U.S. the legal way is more difficult than if I go to NewZealand I imagine that going from the U.S. to Canada is like going from Australia to NewZealand, relatively simple I have to apply for visa's and the like and prove I can support myself and probably have medical insurance before I leave Australia, some weeks before hand So thought I would find out about the other stuff and fill my trip with silliness Paul

Thanks for the replies At this stage the Princess isn't interested in coming and originally I was just gunna fly into Canada and jump on a bus/train or plane But then I got thinking I'll need to no doubt fly to L.A. and then catch at least one more flight to Calgary So why don't I buy a vehicle, something I would never get to drive in Australia and extend the holiday by a month or more First thoughts was a pick up truck with a gun rack, because well, I'll be in America were everyone has a gun and I'm half way there 🤪 But once that stupidness was over I got to thinking A Peterbilt, Autocar, Western R model and the list goes on One thing I would like to do is buy some motors and send them back home, types that aren't common in Australia or even that common in the U.S. and fit to some of my projects Anyway this part is a pipe dream at this stage, the horse ride is a done deal as I have paid the money Maybe Im getting greedy and trying to f it to much into ond trip but I don't think I'll ever do it again so I might as well have as much adventure as I can Think about how much stuff I can carry with a cab over truck and 24 foot tray and a bunk to sleep in I reckon if I rent like a 6 ton truck and pay motel bills for six weeks it won't take long to chew thru as much as the cost of buying something But if I was to buy something and it broke down it is then my problem to fix it, but I figure it is my problem at home anyway and parts etc will be easier to come across in the states than Australia As I said, all just a pipe dream at this stage Paul

Well next August I'm going horse riding in the Canadian Rockies So I had a thought, rather than flew all the way there, I might just fly to LA and then buy a small truck and drive up and then head across to the east coast after my ride So my question is, can I drive a truck with getting a CDL or what ever you blokes call it ? If I can't, how big in weight can I drive without a CDL, was told 26000 lbs Is this the gross weight of trucks capability or to can I drive a truck that weighs this amount when empty It is only a idea, day dream type of deal to drive about Paul

Was thinking about this, theres probably a Renault forum like this Mack truck forum in Europe, maybe join one and they maybe a good source of advice and sourcing of parts The good thing most things automatically translate or will translate with a few clicks Botton line is I reckon there would of been more Renaults over a given period than Macks for the same period If you find a good forum report back and when others come looking for questions like yourself we will know were to point them Paul
  18. Well that's some adventure Does the trailer have a hurdle at the front, steel gate to stop the load shifting forward off the trailer Or do you rely on the rach guard thingy on the truck ?? Dont really see straps used on steel in Australia, most people wrap the chains right around the steel and then chain it to the trailer, the tighter the dogs are the tighter the load is held I have fund it amazing just ho we much steel bounces, even with lots of chains on Main thing is that no one is hurt, trucks looking sharp Paul

It's been a few years now since I have had the heads off a E6 and recall any difficulty in getting the heads off Manifolds came off easy as best as I.can recall The air to air intercooler has to come out to get all the bolts out, I am pretty sure it had bolts inside, maybe completely wrong now, it has been a while now but Im pretty sure there was bolts inside to hold the manifold to the head Gunna be embarrassing if I have that wrong lol Paul

At 11:02am, the Australian National Flag should be moved back to the peak for the remainder of the day. every country does something a little different I guess, but we all appear to value this day Paul

We call it rememberance day in Australia Up until recent years people would wear a poppy on remembrance day Sadly I was up the street a few times on remembrance day and didn't see another person wearing a poppy I seem to recall the flags were always at half mast on remembrance day along with ANZAC day I didn't see any flags at half mast Dunno, Australia is really going down the toilet with it's values in recent years Every joker will proudly display their latest tattoo or piercing but not wear a poppy or ANZAC badge Anyway, thanks to all those who served or who are still serving I hope we all live a full and good life and be worthy citizens as lot of people gave a huge amount so that we can Thank you

Well start googling and find the right one A lot more LHD Renault trucks were built than RHD so this shouldn't be to hard Search with Mack Renault at the start, they sold 10's of thousands of these in Europe so parts are pretty easy to find, probably easier than American Mack parts in America Okay I just Googled the Bosch part number in your picture, I think its the number and a treadle valve came up in Belgium https://www.belgiumtt.com/foot-brake-valves/bosch/unit/11.06.03.035/0481064004 The more I searched the more I found, it appears that the same valve came with different mountings So perha pos give them a call before ordering, most European countries speak better English than any of us Good luck Paul

Yep, you need to take care of the ticker Princess has been less than dedicated to taking care of her's and in recent months I have had to run her up to the hospital a few times for a over night stay Problem isn't the ticker as such, but as we age we need more medical treatment and a crook ticker really restricts what the doc can do to help Take care and glad your on the improve Paul
