Okay my 2 cents worth Drain fuel tanks into containers, Im a tight ass Remove tanks and chuck some old nuts and bolts in them, roll the tanks around on the ground and check how clean they are Also count the nuts and bolts you chuck in the tank, re count taking them out Sounds to me like theres a blockage for sure Forget all the fancy fuel aditives, they are no substitute for clean tanks and clean fuel Now 4 layers of cloth rags, a old tee shirt folded over in a funnel and slowly poor your fuel back in, new filters again Now prime up and start If it stops again, stop fiddling and spraying ether Try starting the truck, while trying to start the truck look at the exhaust, is it smoking, if so what colour is the smoke ?? This gives you a hint of the issue Good luck Paul

Mack B873sx restoration

I think the better prepared you are for sand blasting and the easier you can make it for the bloke doing it the smoother and cheaper it is Apparently grease and oil slows the whole show down, so having it really clean helps a lot and uses less garnett Paul -
ENDT 675 priming after fuel filter change
mrsmackpaul replied to Old_DM's topic in Engine and Transmission
Even if the system is dry, on a air start truck it will start in two tanks of air If a hand primer is fitted, just chuck the new filters on, pump the primer, you will feel it when it is primed and bypassing back to the tank Fill the air start tank and hit the giddy up and go switch and let the magic happen Paul -

Got asked a question this morning If your back diff on a bogie drive (twin screw) is buggered Can you pull the axles, drop the jack shaft and engage diff lock and drive home Truck has to travel 500 miles bob tail On Eaton back ends this can be done I can't think of any reason it shouldn't be done Is my thinking correct ? Not my piccy and not the right place, but stuff it, I'm chucking it in here anyway Just saw this on Facelessbook Mack Trucks page This image captured on 9/11 reminds us of the incredible bravery displayed following the tragic events of that day. Pictured below, a NYC Sanitation supervisor stands beside a Mack truck from the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit, which was severely damaged from the attacks on the World Trade Center. We honor these sacrifices and will #NeverForget.

I had never thought about this, it will be interesting to see how it goes and if it makes any difference They are a fairly noisy transmission from my experience, but there's a lot going on inside with tripple counter shafts spinning Glad the truck went good Paul -
I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but KH is only there because she is a woman, a bit like that fat thighed red headed bitch we had Just the despardos chasing any votes they can grab, dunno if Trump is any good or not, but I feel he is better than KH for running your country 9/11 today and it hardly rates a mention I dunno, the world's stuffed Paul

Axle mounted Steering box
mrsmackpaul replied to ws721's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Australian Superliners had round head liggts series one Series 2 had rectangular head lights and a different bonnet altogether as the cabs were higher and bonnets came up to meet this extra height The headlight mount was shifted further down the mudguard to keep legal in Australia This is hardly noticable The series two cab was higher, about 2 inches to allow for extra cooling as the cab at normal height is to hot to touch near floor area as it will burn Paul -
Dunno, I just blinked and poof, all gone Paul
