Connecticut Construction Trucks

Wow, what a shot Great stuff Paul -
There is a lot more to propper electrical design than most people think As I said, the rule of thumb works most times but some times it doesn't and them as we can see by photos shared on this thread, the results can be deadly Just everyone be careful, electricity is pretty unforgiving Paul
-
I can tell many people here are just using rule of thumb type of electrical design But it doesn't always work that way, while most times it does To make sure that a circuit breaker will trip as designed and do it's job of protecting the wire a few things have to be taken into consideration A few more than are mentioned here I guess been a electrician for nearly four decades gives me a different view than most Stay safe out there everyone, don't let the smoke out and remember there's a lot more to propper circuit design than just going up a gauge in wire and chucking a breaker on Generators are only as safe as the installation Some of the answers here aren't exactly safe and people can get hurt in a split second and it is for easy to change your life direction and the lifes of those near and dear to us I could write on and on, but this is one of those things were a little bit of knowledge is very dangerous Paul

Jake's on a Dynatard engine
mrsmackpaul replied to rsqman12's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I think it should work with a Dynatard cam, I say this because the lifter ram is shorter in normal operation and when Dynatard is on the little ram is extended But I'm expert at this, I have a Jacobs kit for a E6 2 valve maybe 35 feet from were Im standing at the moment I will look into it by trial and era one day when I see if it fits Paul -
I thought, bugger me you've been busy in the cold Then I realized you was still patching fiber glass Never mind Paul, get back to work And yes people do pass away from forums and we have no idea most times Paul

As Joey sez, more info and we may be able to help Paul -
Well I was very impressed with the whole video, and what a truck As far as I know there was only 12V71 TTA in a Australian truck and that was custom built like a custom car or hot rod, chrome and bling everywhere by Australian standards, it was around 600 hp and only did single trailer work That Brockway is stunning Thanks for sharing Paul

Mate if it was anything but a derailed thread I would think something is wrong here Not to worry Trumpy will sort it all shortly Paul
-
Struth you blokes spin this way off topic to spin off that topic and on and on Im just confused now to what we are even talking about lol Oh look a butterfly, I best chase it Ha Ha Ha

See, there's some propper repairs done at home Good effort, the pony express saying comes to mind "Neither rain, or snow, nor death of night, can keep us from our duty" Paul

No matter what any of us think, the show is no good these days To many trucks down for way too long However trucks do get huge milage between rebuilds these days It is very hard to get a lot of people to think for themselves these days, it appears to me that everyone is into butt covering and making sure they can't be blamed for anything The western world needs to grow a set of balls and throw caution to the wind We all need to go out on that limb, yeah it gets a little breezy at times but that just makes for more adventure in life Limp dicks with tattoos are taking over trying to look the part but don't know shit from yellow clay As one of me good tradesman used to say, "those have never blown anything up have never really lived" The other tradesmen used to say "only two types of people have never made mistakes, those that have never tried and liars" I don't work in the same job I was trained in by these men, but the lessons they taught me I apply to everything I do every day of my life Paul

I think your not comparing apples with apples here These countries and their people are just battling along as best they can Even if they had the money to buy the part there probably is no factory trained mechanics there I really admire someobe for having a go, no matter the country and to me sitting back knocking some for having a crack at life is a bit unfair, or as we would say "It's un Australian" I guess that old saying "don't judge me until you've walked a mile in my shoes" comes to mind These people in the video's probably earn in year what most Americans or Australians earn in a week Good on them for having ago Our countries were built on people having ago, not on people criticising them Did they fail, hell yes they did, but they didn't give up, they got up, dusted themselves off and kept on trying I reckon a lot of this is missing today Paul

It looks impressive if nothing else

Age has nothing to do with ability Years of experience has nothing to do with ability Ability has to be taught, so why are people less able to fix none text book problems these days ? I dunno, I feel most people are not allowed to think for themselves anymore And if they do think for themselves they are chastised if they get it wrong As a young bloke I was very fortunate to have 2 very good tradesman teach me as a apprentice No matter what mistakes I made, if they could see I was trying they never gave me a hard time The company I worked for had at times 150 tradesmen and at a guess a 1/3 were just grumpy old pricks that had the shits on with the world Another 1/3 were just getting by raising a family and so on The other 1/3 cared a lot and probably 10% of those really wanted to teach apprentices As to these so called dodgy repairs, well I guess it is like the U.S. or Australia 80 years ago We just got shit done, it might not of been text book right but it worked good enough, if not better at times than the OEM gear Paul

1996 Mack Rd688 300hp loosing prime
mrsmackpaul replied to Jcamaraza's topic in Engine and Transmission
You have a fuel leak in the return to tank side of the fuel system Now the tricky part is you most likely will not see this leak because it isn't under any pressure I have found a piece of inner tube over the fuel filler hole with a fitting to hook the shop air to is of great help Wind the regulator down as low as the compressor goes, maybe 20 psi and put some pressure on the fuel system This forces any fuel out any leaks that are there and enables you to find them Not very likely to be a injector pump problem, as you have already said Paul -
1953 Mack LJ
mrsmackpaul replied to reb87's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Well, coolant the bumber or not, rigging correct or not, diff centers correct or not and on and on It is still cooler than any truck I have owned So if you change your mind on this dream machine, sing out, would be far more fun to tour the U.S. in than any muscle car or square body Chev when I finally make it over there 😉🦘🦘 Seriously though, any truck thats even half this age that has done hard yacka will be so modified to suit what ever purpose it needs to fill it will only resemble what it's meant to when new Paul
