  2. Or the pressure regulator is set to high Paul
  3. Dunno about year, however we can see it had the wrap around plastic dash, someone in the U.S. should be able to tell you when these became available And it's a air ride cab as well, or at least it isnt flat on the back of the cab so it has the exrra 3 inches in the cab The mirrors are pressed tin not aluminium extrusion From what I can see I would say 76 or newer but that is purely a guess It is a far better looking truck than one in the Convoy movie and even though I have only ever seen the German version and I don't speak a word of German except what I learnt on "Hogans Heroes" it was easy enough to follow and enjoyable enough for me to watch Paul
  4. Before pulling the head I would just bung the injectors back in and see if it's fixed Then maybe a compression test But I'm no mechanic but I do fix my own stuff Paul
  5. Fill it up with the MIG until you have enough sticking out the manifold to weld a nut Then just unwind the stud and replace It is easier than you might think to do this I was dubious to say the least when I heard about this way but it really does work quite well If it keeps on breaking off, get a set of jumper leads and a couple of batteries series, maybe go three batteries Clamp one end to the head and the other to the nut you have welded on and put some decent currnt thru it This also helps to loosen things I think been a cast iron that this last step wont be needed Even if the stud is broken off a fare way down, just slowly build it up with the MIG Paul
  6. Hippy, I'm very determined and had some really special tradesman as a young apprentice They gave me something you can't learn in school and something has to earnt not taught The gave me self confidence in my abilities without hopefully been a cocky smart ass Trying to think how to explain it My tradesman of a different era than today must of seen something in me and my desire to try and fix anything Because they took time to teach me and really changed the course of my life They never did it for most apprentices, just the odd one I guess I was very respectful with out kissing ass and wasn't a cocky smart mouthed piece of shit And when I stuffed up I openly admitted it, they never really went crook but I certainly could tell when they weren't impressed with me They taught me how to not rely on others, but rather use my own brain and my own abilities And I had and still have a very strong work ethic Manners and and a good work ethic will get you further in life than any collage degree or university education So without sounding like a wanker I just plug along and do the best I can do myself, I get a huge amount of satisfaction in the doing of things Making videos for youtube was more a way of recording what I do for my son in years to come so he can see that even a dumb ass like his father can have triumphs and failures but we should still be proud of what we try and achieve Sorry more dribble from me Paul
  7. So what type of aircleaner are you wanting Maybe bung up a picture of what you would like and someone can point you in the right direction Paul

  9. So true Bob Today's movies are so in your face, they rely on shock factor and smut to get bums on seats to watch movie John Wayne was saying in a interview once how the public arent idiots and don't have to have everything shown to them Some one shoots a gun at a bloke over and the bloke drops over dead The public can join the dots and there is no need for blood and guts to tell the public what happened There aren't many good actors these days and it shows when I try and watch most modern movies, they aren't enjoyable or entertaining Truth is I would rather participate in a forum like this than watch most modern movies today Im boring, I know this but you can't beat some of those old movies Anyway enough dribble from me Paul
  10. Got Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood as well as a whole host of other big name actors Still makes me laugh when I watch it today f o r probably the 50th time Paul

  15. From something sensible to something not so sensible At a piss up last year and got roped into playing the game "Goon of Fortune" Now to be fair I had never heard of "Goon of Fortune" and I didn't really have it explained to me End result a couple of old jokers that should know a lot better ended using a tractor to hold them up and rest on And some how ended up on the grass in a short amount of time Slept like a baby for few hours Stirred occasionally and could hear my mate snoring away Life was grand, hang over lasted a week A proof men never grow up no matter how old we get Paul
  16. Western Transport were the company that made Mack in Australia, they were a huge privately owned company that were all about been Australian owned and Australian made They stumbled onto to Mack after WW2 as they couldn't get any Pomy trucks and Mack dealer or agent in Brisbane that couldn't organise a bun fight in a bakery had disassembled Macks new that they couldn't sell Anderson's (Western Transport) bought the lot and was so impressed with Macks they negotiated with Mack USA to become the importer and distributor for Mack in QLD What Westerns couldn't sell as new went straight into their fleet and was sold second hand at a young age Noel Buntine of Buntine Transport started using Macks on road trains If the Mack was tough enough for the hard yacka these companies dealt out it was tough enough for anything The rest as they say, is history So much of the Mack R and F model was actually built, cast, pressed and fabricated in Australia that they were import duty exempt Anyway, enough waffle from me Paul

  20. Did you know 🐢 L E S T W E F O R G E T 🌿🌺 Meet 'Gunner' the stray kelpie who was found 81 years ago #OnThisDay 19 February, 1942, under a destroyed mess hut in Darwin after an airraid and became adept at warning of Japanese planes up to 20 minutes before they arrived!!!! He could tell the difference between enemy and friendly aircraft and saved a great many of lives πŸ‘πŸ˜„ AN AMAZING STORY.... The six-month-old black and white male kelpie was found whimpering, having suffered a broken front leg, under a destroyed mess hut at Darwin Air Force base 81 years ago, following the first wave of Japanese attacks on Darwin. Air Force personnel took him to a field hospital, but the doctor insisted he couldn't fix a "man" with a broken leg without knowing his name and serial number. The doctor repaired and plastered his leg after the air force personnel replied that his name was "Gunner" and his number was "0000". Gunner entered the airforce on that day. Leading Aircraftman Percy Westcott, one of the two airmen who found Gunner, took ownership of him and became his master and handler. At first, the dog was badly shaken after the bombing, but being only six months old he quickly responded to the men's attention. About a week after, Gunner first demonstrated his remarkable hearing skills. While the men were working on the airfield, Gunner became agitated and started to whine and jump. Not long afterwards, the sound of approaching aeroplane engines was heard by the airmen. A few minutes later a wave of Japanese raiders appeared in the skies above Darwin and began bombing and strafing the town. Two days later, Gunner began whimpering and jumping again and not long afterwards came another air attack. This set the pattern for the months that followed. Long before the sirens sounded, Gunner would get agitated and head for shelter. Gunner's hearing was so acute he was able to warn air force personnel of approaching Japanese aircraft up to 20 minutes before they arrived and before they showed up on the radar. Gunner never performed when he heard the allied planes taking off or landing; only when he heard enemy aircraft as he could differentiate the sounds of allied from enemy aircraft. Gunner was so reliable that Wing Commander McFarlane gave approval for Westcott to sound a portable air raid siren whenever Gunner's whining or jumping alerted him. Before long, there were a number of stray dogs roaming the base. McFarlane gave the order that all dogs be shot, with the exception of Gunner. Gunner became such a part of the air force that he slept under Westcott's bunk, showered with the men in the shower block, sat with the men at the outdoor movie pictures, and went up with the pilots during practice take-off and landings. When Westcott was posted to Melbourne 18 months later, Gunner stayed in Darwin, looked after by the RAAF butcher.... Gunner's fate is undocumented 😒
  21. Very cool stuff and further along than my gasser Not many 55 Chev's out in Australia and I doubt any 2 doors were sold And looking heaps more like a drag car than my old Holden Paul
  22. All I can say with any degree of accuracy is that all the comments above are about what I find However some people claim they work good and as good a Jacobs, these are the exception rather th asn the rule Even if I discounted over exaggeration and cut it in half and divided by four, thats still better than what I experience So I am after the elusive pot of unobtainium Dynatard gold that is a effective engine brake Is it possible, I really dont know and don't have high expectations, I will however make a video to bore you all with of my findings 😴😴 Paul
  23. Well I ordered and paid for book about these today from fleabay Hopefully I will have some added information to lead me to a positive understanding of these Dynatard was available from 1973 in Australia according to Mack Australia I'll go on the hunt for some brochures or fliers I think you blokes call them as they would of had the specs listed I think 76 was the first of the Coolpower Macks in Australia Will keep you all up to date with what I learn or dont learn But some people, very few reckon they worked really good on a E6, most people are like me and apart from making the noise didn't do stuff all even when on full revs or higher Paul
