  1. Once you get the sloppiness sorted Take your time shifting, no clutch pedal all the way to the floor like a European truck as this put the ckutch brake (if it still has it fitted) on and make things harder And take your time, there's a lot more spinning around in a Maxitorque than a RoadRanger or ZF box They are pretty box I find they can't be rushed at all On a 10 or 12 speed, about 400 revs between changes On 5 or 6 speed about 800 revs They do take a bit of getting used to if you have never driven one, just take your time For the rest of you lot from Yanky land and there abouts In Australia European and Japanese trucks generally don't have a clutch brake at all, only American based trucks Most truck drivers in Australia even use the clutch brake as most are used to driving with out one Even European trucks with RoadRanger boxes don't have a clutch brake fitted Paul

  11. Everything mentioned above Forget trying to buy a new one Should be able to get the seperate parts for inside Some times the ball and tapered cone in the pitman arm gets a groove worn in it This ball can be replaced with one with a nut on the pitman arm instead of it been riveted over Pull split pin out, unscrew the cap, and drop it all apart, clean everything up, check for busted spring and badly worn parts Replace parts as needed, re assemble America is different than the rest of the world, everyone goes to the local spare parts place with a vin number Go to a place that wrecks trucks with the parts in your hands and some tools and wander about looking for what you need I enjoy wandering about the history as much as finding a part Paul

  13. Way way back in maybe 1989 or 1990 I was driving a D9 G direct drive pulling 65' trash worker sowing sorghum on 30 inches centers Sowed 5000 acres in 14 days I felt like the king of the world up in the 9 I reckon it took over 4 hours to complete a lap at the start, the fella that owned it, took me around to his brothers family, they had three 9's sowing over 15000 acres. Ooo it was a very manly experience for a young lad Here's a video of a Washington State farmer If your not a farmer you probably won't get anything out of it, if you've grown grain or farmed for a lot of your working life you might enjoy it The family in the video is still farming and still using Cats Paul
