  1. Just wondering what's the deal with all these things. Equip is the company selling all of them. They have many trucks besides those but they are basically just a middle man. None of the trucks are theirs.
  2. Here's my 2 cents. I drive a 379 Pete on low leaf and a ch on camelback. With a spring ride grain trailer neither rides perfect empty. With the air ride cattle trailer the Pete rides smother but so does the ch not as good as the Pete but that is to be expected. Get in any mud or slimey roads the ch will run circles around the Pete. I would opt for an air ride trailer.
  3. Cash for clunkers deal it said. Couldn't be sold whole after a deal like that. We lost many good vehicles to that stupid thing.
  4. Ok guys I have an air throttle in and e6 350 that I'm having troubles with. It runs fine but I can't seem to hold it steady at lower rpms say around 1000 to 1300. It's like I am pumping the throttle. I'm not sure if there is some kind of adjustment or maybe a bad diaphragm. Haven't like this thing since we got it but work with what you have I guess.
  5. Way to go and good luck.
  6. Thanks for the info and the pictures gives me something to think about now.
  7. Check the ground on the firewall in front of the driver. Bottom should be a ground for the can. Just had a problem on an 86 I believe it's the same. My truck found the ground through the shifter cable (automatic) and proceded to melt the cable.
  8. Just wondering with the shortage of sleepers or at the least quality sleepers for these old trucks has anybody ever thought about putting a pacar sleeper on a superliner or r model. I thought I saw one a few years ago on a superliner. Also an added benefit would be if a guy could use a unibilt for extra seat room. Just thinking out loud basically but pictures and thoughts would be welcome. Hell it may not even look worth a crap.
  9. Need to make a recording of that beautiful sound to play while I sleep.
  10. Makes want to buy it and start moving houses. Very cool!!
  11. I still get them from my local Mack dealer.
  12. Always good when you can justify the "junk" sitting in the shed.
  13. Thanks guys. Been using stabil but only for storage I think I'll get some of the other and try it.
  14. Ok guys here's the question. What is the best gass additive you have found to keep old tractors going. I'm having some problem with the carburetors gumming up and the floats sticking. I am using e10 because that's what we have delivered to the farm. I use sea foam but it just doesn't seem to do the trick.
  15. Awsome!
  16. Thanks guys. I found a good at manders but it doesn't have the right grill. Mine has the grilldensor and the surrounds. Grilldensor is 250 new but the surrounds are na.
  17. Looking for a hood. Truck had a run in with the hay trailer today.
  18. I think the concept is a good one if it could be done within a reasonable budget like you said. (Not having to do a bunch of rejigging). Be it a small percent of trucks I think mack could make a name for itself in the o/o market like the old days. Pete and kenworth have been doing it for years so there must be some appeal for that kind of rig. If you build it they will come. I could go on forever but I will stop there.
  19. Beautiful. I wish I had te time and patience to do something like that. Keep up the good work.
  20. I think there was 5 pictures of your trucks on there. Nice to see some good old Macks on that page rather than all the new petes and kws.
  21. Can't figure out how to post a link from my phone. But here on of the pictures I came across on cattle pots f book page.
  22. Oh sorry forgot about lights. The older you get the darker it gets. My neighbor just built a shop and he put in a bunch of t5 fixtures and wired them in so you don't have to turn them all on.
