  1. Very nice truck!! I'm hoping that one day my R688ST will look as good.
  2. This is the first 5 pages of the R series operator's handbook. I thought some might find it interesting, and it helps reinforce the earlier post about the lighter weight RL / RS
  3. This is from from wikipedia, The Mercury M-Series pickup truck was produced between 1946 and 1968 byFord Motor Company of Canada, primarily for Canada. Early versions often came with a higher output (CM-1 designated) Mercury/Ford flathead V8 engine over and above the unique Mercury-specific grille, badging and trim that adorned every Mercury M-Series truck. The M-Series was introduced in Canada because smaller communities either had a Ford dealer or a Lincoln-Mercury-Meteor dealer, but not both; a Mercury truck line offered more opportunities for truck sales.
  4. I wanted to add a couple of Fords. These are going to be at an auction in Toronto the end of this month. The first one is a 1951 COE F5 The next 2 pics are of our Canadian Ford, A 1956 Mercury 500. I'm not sure if the only difference between the Ford and Mercury is the name on the hood.
  5. That is one clean look'n 700. I think I would get back over and make a deal with the guy soon. … In case someone has seen your pics and decide they need it more than you. Good luck!!! Keith
  6. I think the white super dog with the sleeper is IH farms, member on this forum. Nice truck.
  7. What a great job Vlad!!! That stainless will look too good to paint. Love it ! Maybe you could take what is left of the kitchen sink back to the store, tell them it leaks and you want your money back.
  8. Great pics!! Thanks for sharing
  9. Good luck with your search. Keith
  10. Here u go umodelnut. My neck was getting sore. Thanks for the pics everyone. I hope there is more. I have to get to one of these shows, I love the combination of real working trucks, show trucks and survivors. Have a great time everyone!!
  11. Very nice job so far!! Thanks for sharing the pics and video. Keith
  12. like a good operator, looks like you have all the basics covered. Looks like you might have to dig deeper. Hope you can get it figured out. Sorry i can't offer any advice. Keith
  13. Brian has it covered, but to add a little more, I think the basic concept of the vent j_martell is, as the oil leaves the reservoir to fill the lift cylinders, it has to be replaced by air. If air can't get in the reservoir , oil won't be able to easily leave, creating a vacuum in the tank. A good spot to check Also , might sound stupid but your oil level is right? were you loading uphill or downhill, and the oil supply line on the high side of your tank.
  14. Thanks very much for sharing!! What a great bunch of pics. Keith
  15. Mine are 44,000 for sure. 6 bolts
  16. Thanks BAD DOG, I have seen pics of the F700, I think you posted them. It looks very sharp! As much as I would like to have something that is very rare. I think it would give me a nervous breakdown trying to get it restored. Its a chore buying parts for an R600 at times. I can just see the look on the parts guys face when I ask for something for a 1950 LMU. Very interesting truck though. Keith
  17. I have been trying to figure that out Jim, I think it is about an hour west of my place. It looks like some type of museum. You guys have me thinkn I should own it. I don't think I need another project though. Thanks for the input!
  18. I've never seen anything like it. I'm assuming its rare ?
  19. No connection http://www.kijiji.ca/v-heavy-trucks/markham-york-region/1950-mack-crane/1021185680?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true The ad says 1950 Mack, but I'm not sure what model. I was wondering if someone knew what it was. It looks like it has suicide doors? Keith
  20. I love that!! My laugh of the day. Thanks Mike!
  21. You got that right Al, he was a policeman that did commercial truck enforcement. I was just getting finished up after a storm. He stopped me because he wanted to see my over wide load permit. He said I was over 8ft. 6 wide so I needed it. He made me go to the nearest weigh station(to make sure I wasn't overloaded) ………... 2 hours later he let me go. Plows don't need permits , its in our highway traffic act.
  22. Thanks Bob, it won't look that clean in February.
  23. This is from a Mack Maintenance and Lubrication booklet. I think it is basically what Alex said.
  24. 237 with TRXL 107 six speed, 4.42 rears, 18 front 38 rears .
  25. From the album: 1985 RD685S

For some strange reason… my favourite transmission. Good for high winging, can back up in 5th, and take another swipe if I have to.
