  1. I think that DMM would be a perfect addition to your collection. Hope you can figure a way to get it.
  2. I'm thinking your daughter will have the only B model at the prom. I hope you can find one. I think that's great!
  3. I like that. We should all take time to enjoy "the simple pleasures of life" and nowhere better than in a classic MACK! GREAT JOB! Keith
  4. Great pics Vladislav, maybe next years victory day holiday will be in one of your Thanks for sharing.
  5. Good luck , I hope your able to get it .
  6. Thats very cool superdog, I'm hoping one day you can do a video, would love to see and HEAR it .
  7. Wow!! That is one classy R. Good job. I love the two tone paint on the hood. It just looks right on an R. Hope you don't mind, my newest addition might end up similar to yours.
  8. Thanks again everyone for your comments I will post pics of any progress. Keith
  9. Thanks Alex, Its far from perfect. There is rust between the double frame and the air cleaner is a little punky. Rusty spots here and there, but it is original paint. So nothing has been hid, I like that.
  10. Ding ding ding we have a winner!! Yes it is their truck . The driver and the owner are a class act. The driver got to pick a truck to replace it. He has a 2013 KW now. I didn't see it and don't know any specs. I wished the owner the same luck with the KW as he had with the Mack (26 years trouble free). But I think the Mack will be a hard act to follow.
  11. Thanks everyone for the complements on the R. I'm really happy with it. At some point it will become a float tractor. I found a DOT inspection sheet in the truck from Aug. of last year 8000 kilometres (5000 miles) ago, after an hour long inspection no defects were found. And when I thought things couldn't get better. The fuel gauge read over half. Figured it was broke. But no, truck came with close to 200 gal of fuel. Hatcity: It was quite the opposite , they were happy that the truck was not going oversea or cut up for parts. They knew I was going to care for it. I showed them pics of my 85 and 86 R's 41chevy: It does look longer, but it is a 60 inch spread. 84superdog: I'm sorry , but I have looked for over 3 years for the right truck. Goes to show that good things come to those who wait. thomastractorsvc: A sleeper would look good, I agree. But there are other things I want to use the budget on. Aluminum front wheels, nice headache rack and some full fenders. Thanks again to everyone Pics to follow
  12. I will try to keep this short, but I'm so happy might become long. A friend of mine called me to tell me about an R for sale. I didn't get to excited, all the older Canadian Macks I look at are pretty tough. The exporters pay a lot of money for them generally (more than I would pay) But I thought I should take a look anyway. As it turns out it is a 1988 R688st one owner, and one driver only since the truck was new. Was never used in the winter. So its in good shape for a Canadian truck ( still not as good as a southern truck) But good never the less. The driver would take off his work boots and put on shoes to drive it. So its on its way to my place. I'm the proud new owner 1988 R688ST 350 4v with an 8LL 200 inch wheel base 14500 front 44000 rears 4.42 ratio trim level II I will post more pics when it gets to its new home.
  13. Looks great! Love the red frame and tanks
  14. No relation to this, found it on the computer and wanted to share. Very cool 100 foot American LaFrance tiller. I just wish the pics were better. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-heavy-trucks/city-of-toronto/mack-b85f/590698681?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
  15. Honestly, I'm not sure why we have small or no cab shields at all. Your point REEL sounds logical. I think another reason is to keep tare weights as low as possible for doing ton/mile work. I have never done ton/mile, and never will ( I'm to slow) so I don't know much about it. Funny thing, when I replaced my dump box everyone told me to cut off the cab shield , but I think an R needs a cab shield to look right, even if it is a small one. Here's another sheildless truck that works for me occasionally. Like the truck, the owner is a real pro
  16. I was picking up triple mix this week ,and wanted to share a pic of my next fav. truck….. after my Macks of course. Its a 1986 International S1900 with a DT466 and 13 speed. It has had the same driver since new.
  17. I wonder if 84superdog would consider a pete? (if its for sale) . Great pics, thanks for sharing.
  18. Regardless of the make, I think that is one cool truck. I like the etching on the side glass.
  19. Make sure you interview people that are interested. They have to be worthy of a truck like that.
  20. Very nice, thanks for sharing
  21. Thanks for sharing Back in Black, your truck looks and sounds awesome That E6 sure didn't sound like mine.
  22. Congratulations on the new R. Looks like a good one. I hope it makes you lots of $$$$$.
