  1. The part # is says on my tube is 22618326 and it says Volvo all over it.
  2. I'll look when I get to work but it is the Volvo pink stuff. We actually cant order it for some reason as it seems it's a Volvo only part number and we're Mack only. Our other dealership is a dual dealer and they get it for us. Don't forget the loctie activator that you spray on first.
  3. Depending on emissions year model you can program injectors under " calibrations". However all models you can do it under Programing then parameters
  4. If it has the double U-joints on top of the gear box. Loosen the bearing retaining plate between the U-joints a little and drive it around the yard and see if that helps. The Bearing might be bound up on the shaft.
  5. If you have the hard start problem but engine run fine , the sealing surface on the injectors sealing surface to the cup could be pitted to the point that it wont reseal with just a new cup. Mack has guide lines on this. Pretty much , if the sealing surface is pitted you replace the injector.
  6. On the MP engines , Mack charges the dealers any where from $200 to 1500 for the download then the dealers will usually mark them up a little. 95% of them seem to be in the $200 range ( dealer cost). The dealer submits a request form to Mack via E-service ( email type program) and Mack responds back with the available HP levels that engine can be raised to and cost to do it. We do about one a week.
  7. Im voting freeze plug fell out of end of rocker arm shaft. Also, the bottom stud on the exhaust manifold on every ETECH style engine is drilled all the way into the push tube bore. Oil can leak past the treads and make it look like oil is coming out of exhaust manifold. A missing plug on the rocker arm shaft ( they just fall out sometimes) can flood the top of the motor with oil and cause too much oil in the push tube bores and oil seepage.
  8. In cases where there is the small Fuller trans, we do the 505E download where you get the HP but not the torque. It helps. We havent ordered anything with a Fuller in a long time because of this issue. Jumping up to the higher torque Fuller is quite a bit more money when ordering new.
  9. Engine brake front and rear head. Check and make sure the wire is plugged into each valve cover, if so , pull valve cover and make sure ground wire is not broken on solinoid
  10. If it has a DEF tank it has the stainless cups
  11. Check turbo motor effort when hot. And do open and closed test on the turbo. Make sure they go to 0% to 100%. We have seen sticking turbo vains cause weird issuses
  12. It should try to start a rolling regen at 100 to 106% . And same with a parked. Was the soot ratio reset at time of DPF filter replacement? Bad turbo could be causing soot build up. Mack usually wants us to remove pipe from turbo to DPF and do a "snap throttle" test to see if the engine smokes bad when reving it up. Remember , if your having high NOX problems, the truck will ask for parked regens to read the NOX levels to see if its clean enough to keep it from 5 MPH derate. If your soot ratio is not high and its asking for regen then its usually NOX related.
  13. Your loosing J1939 com data line from engine ECM to vechicle ECM. It causing Idle to go to 900 rpm. Most common issue is coolant in the engine ECM. Unplug all 3 connectors on the engine ECM and check for rotted pins.
  14. Unless its warranty we always use aftermarket radiators on the 2008 and up trucks. The GU's and the guys using the CHU and CXU for logging seem to go through radiators.
  15. Any one heard anything on this? Heard it from the higher ups this morning.
  16. I talked to some corporate people about the "See through valve cover" today. They were like "How do you know about that?" I did not divulge my source. LOL. Aparently the see through valvecover is coming in the next few months. Sadly today is the first time we have had a major issue with the new common rail engine . However it had nothing to do with fuel system.
  17. All warranty will pay for a road test is .3 HR.
  18. We had lots of complaints on that year model engine but mostly the 427. Whole engine shakes at idle , but rev it up past 850 rpm and its fine and no low power complaints. Mack had a engine software update to help. Looking in my 'VMAC 3 software and data file part number" bulletin, it looks like they had a service file for " Misfire/white smoke" for your truck. Whats the model and last 6 of your VIN and I can check and see its its been installed.
  19. I have maxxed out my download data amount. Is there a way I can delete some of the old pics and files in some of the old posts that I have attached years ago?
  20. We pull the engine here as it's easier and faster. Usually $12,000 to 15,000 at worst. Depends if metal in oil pump, bearings and oil cooler. There's a lot more to it than just the gears. There is a 5 year 500,000 mile warranty on this repair
  21. Yep. If you got the great big Borg Warner cool logic fan clutch, they are junk and are no longer made. They have a Behr fan clutch upgrade kit. The Borg Warner fan clutch is huge, its about half the diameter of the fan blade. We have little issue with the Behr fan clutch. Also, you truck could have the Horton air fan clutch on it. We see alot of the air solinoids go out on those but they set a fault code.
  22. Can you read the number on the tag of the turbo? Should be like a 631GC5145M . If not , give me the number and I can pull it up and see if it's the correct one
  23. I would say turbo actuator/vanes sticking , which should set a code. Or boost pressure sensor which won't set a code.
  24. http://www.roadranger.com/rr/CustomerSupport/Support/LiteratureCenter/index.htm?litlibtarget=1162919212788. Look in here
  25. There is a Fuller service bulletin on this on some models. Something about adding an extra spring.
