  1. You remove the turbo to after cooler pipe and install test plug on to after cooler, leave all other piping alone., hook up air pressure regulator and pump 30 psi into after cooler/ rest of engine. Spray soapy water on intake gaskets and around air compressor intake piping and back of engine. Due to intake and exhaust valves being open in engine it might not hit 30 psi but it will be good enough to find leaks
  2. Mack Technician is correct. Yours should have the new updates done at the factory. The 2004 was the problem child
  3. You get any low fuel pressure codes? The engine ecm cooler plate seems to get clogged a lot on the older MP engines . Blow the lines out. Has the injector code come back? I had a MP 8 a few weeks ago throw a injector code and it was a bad camshaft . Missed like crazy though
  4. The early ETECHs had bad problems with intake manifold gaskets blowing out. Also remember all ETECH, CCRS and AI engines had the air compressor intake piped into the turbo boost pressure side of the intake system. Any leak at this piping will result in low turbo boost
  5. If grey motor then I'd look at the screen in the "Y" hose below the oil cooler. And also if a AI water pump was installed on a AC engine it can cause wired issues. Pulley size is different between the two models
  6. Also ,if early ETECH (98.5-01) then a cam key way change to over 400 hp plus all the other suff listed above
  7. Is this a ASET engine or early MP7?
  8. Does it have a Allison trans?
  9. Only thing I can think of is one of the power relays is not powering down. Try pulling the battery cables off, waiting a few minutes then putting them back on and try starting again. Also, you mean it will crank over but not start or just not crank over at all?
  10. The Mack Product Improvement Campaigns expire after so long and they delete them out of the system. Because of this I save everything Mack every sends me, all the way back to 2007. However the software updates are still there to help resolve issue.
  11. Hopefully the now software will be out soon. I think we waited 2-3 months for the last MP-8 updated engine software to fix a fault code issue.
  12. Sound like the poppets need to be adjusted for full travel . http://www.rhsheppard.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/mseriesmanual.pdf and also http://www.wellertruck.com/pdf/tsupp/STRG/SteeringGearPoppetValvesAdustment.pdf
  13. 7-1 is parking brake switch.
  14. We are starting to see more and more MP-8's with emission deleted. There is a local guy here thats doing them and results have been great so far. Cost is about $5000. Injectors/cups are usually good for about 300,000 miles. We usually see them replaced 3 times in the life of the truck ( on average) . Bull gears/timing gears usually are good till 800,000 at least.
  15. Forgot to look, but I just pulled it up and yes you have a EM7-300. Your Model number is a RD690S last of VIN 031609. So the cheapest you could do is a turbo change and download and get gain a little torque and a 100 HP. However, I would have your dealer contact Mack and see what Mack will do being its a Allison trans. When it comes to vendor trans they dont like to bump them sometimes.
  16. Yes dealer is correct. Solution: If the truck is a Mack MR/LE and along with this fault code there is request for frequent parked regenerations (hourly or daily) refer to TT-020-2015 FG - 25; Vehicles Requesting Frequent Regenerations ( hourly to daily ) - found in the Trucks Dealer Portal under the Service Tab - Tech Support - Tech Support Tips or click here. Parked regenerations once every 30-40 engine hours is normal on stop and go vehicle applications. If the only complaint is MIL for P2459 ( more frequent during winter months ), then use the following recommendation. 1. Do not replace any components. 2. Recommend parked regenerations once every week or sooner. 3. A Software Release ( SW ) release is planned to address the root cause for this fault code. This CBR will be updated at that time.
  17. It wasn't Dickbuick on here that I was discussing MP-7 oil temp but it was someone else on here. They had a 2012 GU with MP7 with high oil temp. We found a Mack Product Improvement Campaign PI0769 that came out in November of 2011 that has the new software for the AMC and EMS that deals with oil temp and a bunch of other issuses.
  18. Me and Dickbuick were discussing this issue the other day. I found a Mack Bulletin on this and it requires a couple of software downloads from the dealer . I'll see if I can pull it up
  19. Do you know what the fault code number was? There was a issue on the MP-8's where they were waiting on a software update but that came out last month. We rarely sell a MP-7 around here so we dont get to work on many newer ones.
  20. Have you seen the Mack bulletin SNM 13-022? Message me and I can email it to you. My data on my account here is maxed out and I cannot add any attachments anymore
  21. Glad he found it. It happens a lot as all thoses connectors are the same .
  22. The windshields leaking is common. So much so that water was getting into the fuse panel down by the clutch pedal and there was a big recall to have a big rubber boot/gasket installed on the fuse panel and if water damage was found in the fuse box it was to be replaced. However no fix for the windshields leaking
  23. Got the PTO wires on top of the trans plugged into the wrong connector and the ECM thinks the PTO is on and if the prameters are set to 1200 , thats all she will turn. Thats my guess.
  24. I'm thinking its not on firewall . it's a black box mounted on the back side of the metal support bar that runs from the dash to the door post where the door hinges as on the driver side. It also does the turn signal clicking and power divider buzzing when engaged and engine shutdown buzzer
  25. Do DEF doser volume test and check for dried DEF in flex pipe after DPF. Always replace both NOX sensors. Check batteries and ACM fuse in battery box. Check turbo motor effort hot, if in the 200ish turbo could be a issue. Fuel pressure 55 psi idle and 65 at 1100 rpm. Update the EMS and ACM and cluster software if your able. Pressure test complete intake system. The list goes on and on.
