  1. We had a customer take his 2011 MP8 up somewhere in Illinois And get the full delete done , I think it was around $3000. They said at the time they could only do the non-OBD trucks, which means only trucks with the 9 pin diagnostic plug. Not the rectangle OBD plug.
  2. 2004 Z71 Tahoe. It's been a good one. We actually had 2 at the same time
  3. This is true with the Mack MP engine diagnostic software (PremiumTech Tool). But with the "Grey" motors not so much. I don't want to go into detail as Mack/Volvo/EPA might change the way we do programming on the "Grey" motors. But let's say we're ok for now! Lol
  4. Yep. Wife won't buy anything but large American made steel SUV's for this reason. If we were driving anything smaller , the deer would have been in our lap. We were gonna trade it in next month as we're approaching 300,000 trouble free miles on the Tahoe. Uses no oil and has been perfect.
  5. Yep! Insurance will probably total the Tahoe, the glass guy charged us $177 but wrote it up like we paid $308. So we will get $308 back from the insurance company. Which will about cover the speeding ticket . Lol
  6. I can pull the exact data and software numbers off of the vin of a XT engine ECM and compare the numbers to a regular 460. However I'm vacation for 2 weeks and won't be able to access the system. But I might turn around and Head back home. Made it 150 miles from home and hit a deer. Took out the windshield , fender and door of the Tahoe. Lucky a guy changed the windshield for me in the middle of the night and we continued on. 20 min later get a speeding ticket , 72 in a 55 , he did knock it down to 60 in a 55.
  7. The XT programs are still in the Mack Mainframe for the VINs they were assigned to. So if you own a truck with the XT file in it , that came from the factory or was upgraded later and Mack knows it's supposed to be in your engine ECM , your still ok. If your ECM shorts out , you can get a new ECM programed to your original. Mack is just not gonna add the XT to anymore VINs. However , if you kept bringing in your 460XT truck with a bad ECM, the dealer can keep programming new ECMs with the XT file . Or you could have a bunch programmed ........ for spares .........if you know what I mean,
  8. Unplug the ecm , then install new fuse to rule out bad ecm
  9. We had this issue when the Wabco 318 air compressors first came on the ASET AC engines back in 04 and into 05. I talked to their engineering dept and they were aware of the issue and did a redesign of the head and valves and it stopped the issue. However on the MP engines we still get carbon issues on the Wabco compressors but mainly after several (5+) years of use. Hopefully they can help with you issue.
  10. Our local 1999 CL with the 460XT with Mack 18 speed trans and Mack 92 series rear axles. Customer had a complete engine rebuild done 2 years ago . I believe it was at the million mile mark. Still runs every day as he lives only a mile from my house. Here are the only problems I have seen with the 460XT. Be ready to change rear motor mount bushings/bolts about every 9 months if you use truck every day. Leave the torque limit switch on the trans hooked up. Our customer has his unhooked, and about every 12-15 months he breaks a through shaft or a axle shaft. No engine problems at all. The CL has the radiator to handle the heat. On 2000CL713 truck, I sent the 460 and 460XT HP upgrade request to Mack yesterday and only the the regular 460 program is available anymore. No more XT upgrades.
  11. AI engine turbo and injector part numbers for different HP levels. scan0588.pdf
  12. On the AI engines, the 350 and 400 are the exact same engine ( turbo and injectors and so on). A dealer should be able to request a HP upgrade to 400HP to Mack. Which would also be a good time to update all software in the ECM's.
  13. The newer Macks have no regen switch and is done through the Guard Dog cluster. On all Macks , you can only do a regen if the truck/ECM ask for one. Otherwise you need the Mack software or an aftermarket Diag software that allows regents.
  14. On The ETECH or ASET engines , if you have a air fan clutch , you can add the factory fan over ride switch and have the dealer turn it in the software. On the ASET engines with the electric BEHR fan. There is no option for a fan over ride switch. However I have seen people take one of the wires going to the "green" AC pressure switch on the high side line ( not the one on the drier) cut it and run it in the cab and run it through a switch and back out to the pressure switch. This way you can break the circuit with the switch and turn the fan on as the ECM thinks the AC has high pressure. Plus it's still running through the high pressure switch so it will work a usual. This circuit is active whether the AC is on or off.
  15. It will be Tuesday before I get back to work and can check out the best route to go
  16. The software for the MP equipped Macks is sometimes updated as many as 3 times a week or as little as once a year depending on the year and ECM. The updates are usually to fix ongoing issues and or prevent future issues from happening. They rarely tell us what's been changed but I have seen the updates help with SCR , DPF and EGR issues.
  17. Unplug the 3 connectors from the engine ECM and check for coolant or oil inside the connector.
  18. Is it red motor ( MP) or grey motor (ASET)?
  19. Whats the last 6 of your VIN?
  20. 30 to 50 HP power loss.
  21. Good thing is you have a regular ETECH engine. Better thing is your already at the 427 HP level. On the ETECH engine ( pre-CCRS and pre-ASET) the 427 and 460 and 460XT use the exact same turbo, injectors and cam key way. So really a factory HP download upgrade to 460 HP would be easy if you have a good dealership to work with. They can submit a HP change request via E-service. I dont know if Mack is still doing the 460XT program. We do lots of HP upgrades but now mostly on red motors.
  22. The new Mack (VOLVO) part number is 25055394. However none of the Mack parts warehouses have any or will probably get any. Aftermarket is your best source.
  23. loss of voltage or ground to cab 9-2 code.pdf
  24. Is yours air operated or all electric like the one in this bulletin? Behr fan clutch AC engines.pdf
  25. Hope your ok. You must rebuild. I was just thinking of you last week as I saw acouple of race trucks like your being trailered towards Nashville
