Best I remember A few years back Mack sent out a bulletin saying that they were quitting doing HP upgrades for trucks older than 10 years old. They ended up back tracking on that and are still doing HP software upgrades on trucks as far back as 1999. However there are limits on certain years such as no more 2005 AI 460 programs as the EPA allowed only so many units at this power/pollution level for that year. This seems to affect mostly mid-2000 year models especially the 370 AI engine. As far as MP engines go , all HP upgrades are software only, no hard parts. As far as the MP8, 2008-2009 max power was 485 HP, the 505 HP didn’t start till 2010 or possibly 2013. The limiting factor is the transmission. A Mack manual or M-drive can go all the way up the 505PLUS . Allison trans were limited to 445/455 HP in some certain trucks till about 2023. Fuller manuals is where it really sucks as they go by the model number of the transmission. A 1400 series transmission is limited to engine HP rating of 1400 foot pounds of torque, 1600 series is 1600 foot pounds of torque. So if you got a Fuller to get the bigger 505 programs you need the 1800 series Fuller trans before Mack will turn the download on. This is done at the corporate level , the dealership can only do what corporate approves /turns on. For the smaller Fuller trans guys , there is a 505E program that gets you to 505HP but only has 1600 foot pounds of torque. Cost is usually pretty cheap as Corporate doesn’t charge the dealership very much for the software change however the dealerships sometimes really mark the price up. I’ve seen 505 HP update done at dealerships in the $500-700 price range. However if your truck is fairly new and under warranty or has extended Mack warranty expect the price to be $3000-4000.

Exit Inducment is only on the 2013 OBD trucks with the 16 pin OBD connector. On the 2010 emission trucks we do the reset and 2 regens and if the engine sees good NOX readings it will unlock the Derate. You can start a regen then unplug the 9 pin Doag adapter and back out of the regen screen . Plug the diag connector back up and go into Test and then Monitor sensor and choose the inlet and outlet box sensors and view the nox readings while the regen continues

4554 psi is the pop pressure for your injectors. You can go to the Mack E-media website and click on Pre-2000 info and the choose 1999 in the year. Hit search and find the tune up manual 5-309. Then choose it and then click view file and it’s free. If any of the manuals in E-media have a “View File” by the manual part numbers they are free to download.

Crank case pressure sensor. They go bad quite often. There is a newer updated part number. You can watch videos on YouTube on where it’s located. Make sure you search MP8 or Volvo D13. The MP7 and Volvo D11 are in different spot.

The 04’ emission MP7 in the 2007 CTP and CXP ( possibly in other truck models) was very similar to the 2008 and up MP7’s . Main differences are the 04’ emission had Centrimax oil filter, different exhaust manifold/EGR valve and EGR cooler and the EGR mass flow/temp sensor. And best of all , no DPF exhaust filter and of course no DEF. Copper injector cup with no update available for stainless cups and conical injectors. I also think there was no crank case ventilation filter (CCV).

I assume it’s a VMAC 2 electronic pump. Did you use the A/B timing light to time and install the pump? Some pumps time on #1 and some time on number 6 . There is a rack rod adjustment that can be done but the pump shop should have done that .

I believe the fuse is in the fuse box down by where the clutch pedal is . I didn’t write that down in my notes

Being a 93 I assume it’s a VMAC 1 electronic engine However in a rare chance It could be a mechanic fuel pump engine. On all VMAC 1,2 and 3 CH/CX the speedometers are all set the same on the dip switches on the back of the speedo head. The tire size, gear ratio, trans tone wheel teeth ( usually 16) and trans top gear ratio are all changeable using the appropriate Mack software or Tech Tool. That’s how you calibrate the speedo. The new replacement speedo heads are different on the dip switches. Have you replaced the speedo head lately?
