Exactly what I was thinking Paul. I got a techical diagram from Mack and it doesn't seem to show anything in there, gotta go down to the mack shop tomorrow, might remove the 90 degree thingy and show them what the hell I'm talking about. Hello from Australia I drive a 1992 R series metro liner running an EM7-300 + T2090 tipper truck that has never (in the last 4 years) had a working tach Recently I have tried to get it going, and what I can find so far is: The gauge and cable seem to be fine. I have hooked a drill up to the engine end of the cable and the gauge responds like it should. The problem seems to be inside the 90 degree elbow hooked into the front of the engine in front of the injection pump. Looking in to where the cable connects to the elbow while the engine is running the spline does not spin at all. I removed the the elbow and both ends spin when the other is turned manually, so that part appears to be fine as well. Is there something missing between the engine and the 90 degree elbow? I have requested a diagram from Mack Australia but it's not much help. Anyone know anything about these? Hopefully it's something simple. Could never figure out why the previous driver had disconnected the cable at both ends...
