    my 2 cents worth. if co owners and the drivers themselves and the shippers would push back hard at some of the political hacks who dream all these bs new unworkable rules& regs up they would not have as much of a shortage as they claim to have, will add more to this post when i have more factual examples of some of the absolutely stupid new regs just recentlly foisted on us

    before you give up completely check the inner bore of the brake drums could be that they have been turned to oversize dimentions if so even new shoes would not give proper stopping power

    thanks for the reply mike . i have a 75 1800 loadstar heavy spec tandem with actual 25.400 miles on the chassis still has the orig brake shoes and some of the tires being a 75 cab is rough and has a 446v8 which is in my opnion is useless. i would like to repower thjs thjng with somthjng diesel or an inline gas motor. then transplant an R cab on this frame and hopefully come up with a useable classic .starting to look at the possibilities of whats available and what it would cost as for pics will take some and post
