  1. There's a few I see in the central pa area from time to time. My dad said when ordering one there was an option to have every bolt coated with never seize.
  2. Find yourself a version of this that makes sense to you, and keep it handy. I had 3 different versions on my phone I kept looking back at while doing mine.
  3. The tractor protection valve(tpv) is only for trailer lines. If you are keeping your truck as a straight truck and not running air to the back for a tagalong trailer you won't even use this system. The flipper valve and the red button are just controls to activate the tpv. The red knob should have a safety in it to automatically pop out and shut off the air flow when the pressure in the truck drops below a set psi. The flipper valve dosnt have that. The tpv is usually mounted Behind the cab and is what the red and blue trailer lines are hooked to. This tpv is what I used on my mack and has a built in safety (like the red knob) so the flipper valve would still be fine to use with it. The air system is pretty simple in these old trucks. If you can find a nice simple diagram to look at its not bad as long as you don't over think it. (My issue). I missed your one post until after I posted this. Personally I'd take everything out, figure if you want to keep trailer brake options, what style controls you want to use (either flipper or button), then start from scratch. Myself I think the air system was easier to figure out then the wiring was. When I stripped the old out of my truck some stuff still acted as it was hooked up but after following lines eventually they would just end with a plug. I think I confused myself after reading this so hopefully you can decipher what I meant to say.
  4. The tractor protection valve is the valve that would supply air to the trailer system/ release trailer brakes." Red knob" It protects the tractors air supply if the trailer line is broken and lets to much sir escape. Causes red knob to pop out. Sounds like someone added the push style knobs and left the flipper valves in place. Normal would send air through the red airline to the trailer and flip to emergency would shut the air off going to the trailer. I think...
  5. My B67 has it and that's enough. I have to keep the window down so there's room for my elbow
  6. Going on what Paul said a timing issue could cause low torque and extra slipping of clutch leading to premature clutch wear.
  7. AZ doesn't look like you got the bunk on yet.
  8. I agree, but manual steering was before my time and I'm glad.
  9. I've been driving for 18 years, and when I first got my automatic I hated it. If I bought my own truck I wouldn't get one, but for what I do I love it. There are some options the company has turned off or locked out but over all I don't want to give it up. That being said I do agree that by going to automatics it's a lot easier for the company's just to stick somebody in the driver seat.
  10. I just like posting this and think its funny as hell. Go Trump!
  11. There's a flatbed company in York pa off exit 24 on i83 that runs them and the guy I was talking about at the show has 2 or 3 in use. There's prob more out there then people think.
  12. I thought the exact same thing.
  13. Wonder if this fifty shades is anything like the one my wife read?
  14. His is a 130
  15. My dad has an older version I think than that that was restored at one point. His doesn't have a loader though. It also dosent have brakes it only has a neutral spot in the hydraulic drive control. Built very heavy duty but his without brakes isn't safe. A little to far one way or the other with the handle and its going forward or bacward. I don't know what the loader is worth but seems kinda high. I know dad made the comment before if he was offered $800 he'd sell his in a heart beat.
  16. Yes aluminum 5th wheel. At macungie in the back row was a white daycab freightliner hooked to a bulk tanker. I'm freinds with them and he has one that they buffed to a mirror finish before they put it on the truck. It has graphite(I think) wear pads that kinda resemble flat brake lining that the trailer rides on.
  17. I remember when I wore a large. Well not really but I seem to have a lot of them
  18. It's not the the fancy condos that can't back up. Some days are lot is totally embarrassing and its 95% day cabs. I go drop my trl somewhere else just so I'm not seen as part of the mess.
  19. Unless the concave cab is a great deal or it means something to you I'd prob pass on it. I don't think I'd buy another short hood with the concave cab except for parts. Strictly my opinion.
  20. Could be that simple, I did that to my kubota tractor about a week ago with the same result. Except I used shop air.
  21. Yes I agree with the t shirt. I liked that B when i saw it on the website. I was hoping you had it on a shirt, I'll take black though I get everything else stained right away.
  22. My stretched out B single axle with freightliner air ride and axles is 12,000 pounds
  23. Just an idea, but one of the local heavy duty truck garages in our area had the stuff to make cables. I remember them making one for my dads cabover KW many years ago. Maybe if you have an old shop in your area they could too.
  24. Whoever this is, I like your shirt.
