  1. I was afraid to even click on the post until now.
  2. I like the airbag idea. Rob, how long of stroke cylinders are on your ramps. Scrapper buddies get gradalls in to scrap pretty often, and they have 2 cylinders on the front axle to level the truck. I think they are only 8" stroke, and prob not long enough though.
  3. I talked to Rob on here awhile back. He has a b67 with factory turbo. He sent me some pictures I'll try to find them, but I'm sure he will beat me to it. Think he said it looks the same as the b61 setup just tighter.
  4. Is there a door hinge 3/4 the way up the A pillar?
  5. Guess I was wrong. Hmmm? Wonder who I'm thinking of?
  6. I think edeere's is a 61 with the contour cab
  7. I new about it sitting further forward, and I thought I've seen both flat and curved cab backs. I also saw the headliners listed seperate at watts and wondered how the roof differed. Only thing I could think of was maybe a diffrent window opening.
  8. What's the diffrence between a b61 cab and b67 cab? Are all b67 cabs contoured?
  9. I like following your project. Very neat and organized. Keep the pictures coming.
  10. Your right, but I like to see other options before I do it. I'm going to pull this with the mack sometimes so I want it to look good. I've built a few trailers over the years and I take the extra effort to not make them look like I made them.
  11. When folding it down it will be more of a convenience thing. Maybe back into a bank and load lawnmower instead of using ramps. My old gate is made of 1" schedule 40 pipe and skinned with 14 gauge. I built it about 15 yrs ago and is still mostly straight. I pull the top 2 pins and the gate folds down. I pull the bottom 2 and its ready to spread. I pull the top and bottom pins on the left and put them in the hinges on the end of the gate and remove the 2 on the right it will swing around to the left. Old trailer box is 10'6" x 4'6" with 4 ton of stone loaded its full. New box is 14' x 8' with only 12" sides and setup to instal 12" side boards. The new trailer won't have near the pressure against the gate when loaded do to the load having much more room. The pins like I have now will work, but like I said just looking for ideas.
  12. Manually operated. I'm thinking of making a set of bottom jaws like on a regular dump bed with a rod running to a handle in the front of the bed. My top left hinge will be double acting to spred and swing. That way I would only have to move 1 pin from the top right hinge to the lower left barn door hinge. Going this way it won't work as a fold down pickup style gate. I can live with this. My old trailer uses 6 diffrent pins. 1 at each corner an 2 in a seperate set of hinges when using it as a swing the gate. What I have is simple and works fine, but I would like to simplify it a little. As for wear causing issues I only use this for my own use and it could sit for weeks at a time between use.
  13. My problem is I know what I want and that's how I got my other trailer setup, but after 15 years its shot and time to update. I know there's a lot of different styles out there just looking to see what people have and like. I do know I do not want a split gate with 2 barn doors.
  14. I'm curently I'm the process of building my new dump trailer from the remains of a commercial leaf vac and a pj gooseneck frame. I'm looking if anyone has ideas for a 3 way tailgate. I want it to lay down like a pickup truck, be able to spread with it hinged at the top, and I want it to be a barn door and swing to the driverside. I built one that works on my old trailer but I have to pound pins out with a hammer whenever I open it. This makes it hard with a few ton of coal, scrap, or stone pushing agsinst it. Pictures would be great!
  15. Was it Susquehanna Motors? I'm guessing they are about 60 miles east of Lamar. Company I worked for bought a bunch of trucks "Macks" and trailers "greatdane" from them over the years.
  16. How big of price difference is there when buying new? I gave $500 for 4 virgin good years and 2 aluminum wheels.
  17. I think Antrim diesel is of I-81 in southern pa around green castle area. As for the 12r 22.5 I read one place that said 9" wheel and another place that said 8.25" - 9" wheel. I have them on a standard 8.25" wheel and they fit nice with no excessive bulging or anything.
  18. That's just the way the picture is. I was hooked up when I took it & was trying to avoid the grease on the front of the trailer.
  19. I see a pair of glad hands and light plug. Can you hook to the front of a trailer with the wheel lift?
  20. This is what my freightliner has at work.
  21. Don't know. It was a single axle with a 40' van trl. The run he had only went out with 1/4 of a load so a couple thousand pounds at the most. I rember him saying it only ran 57mph wound out. I was prob in 5th grade at the time. The closest thing I ever drove to a 5spd is my B, and I know it's slow shifting compared to the 9 & 10 speeds at work.
  22. My dad said you could open a thermos and pour a cup of coffee during the first shift then drink it during the second shift. He ran a U model and hauled bread for a couple month. He started out in 3rd so he only had to shift twice.
  23. I've never heard it compared to a deutz before. Lol
