  1. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinzua_Bridge I'd like to head west and check this out someday.
  2. https://www.laketobias.com/something else worth checking out, especially if you have young ones. It's about :15 from my house and I enjoy going every few years.
  3. No pictures this time. Kid hurt his knee at his last football game and is walking with crutches. Getting in the truck was a little hard for him so we didn't stop anywhere. We did see some interesting local history though.
  4. It's a never ending project.Always gonna be doing "repairs" and "road tests".
  5. The oldest boy and myself went for a nice 140 mile joy ride today. It was the first I had the truck on any 4 lane road, and the longest nonstop trip to date. Truck topped out at 65.7 mph according to a handheld GPS @ 2300 rpm. Runs down the road nice @ 58 mph & 1900 rpm. Truck handled great, got lots of thumbs up, and only used 1&1/2 gallons of oil. My back head seaps some oil at the head gasket on the rear of the engine & the air compressor is pretty thirsty, but still builds air alright. The big stacks are really quite in the cab with no drone. You have to stick head out the window or go between buildings to hear the exhaust. Probably because they're not mounted to the cab. Most of my noise is coming through the doghouse and firewall. The best part was we got to pass a KW & a freightliner.
  6. I noticed today the local Norfolk line has a lot of new ties staged to replace old ones. They appear to have a pressure treated "green" appearance instead Of the black creosote look.
  7. Doesn't it work off the exhaust somehow? I have no experience just overheard people talking.
  8. I always liked the ltl's. personally I don't like fuel tank steps. I think the tanks belong back the frame further in the big empty space and Pacar style boxes to climb in and out of the cab on.
  9. I didn't know they had a push button latch. Mine just has a little spring thing
  10. Local guy around here does the same.
  11. I'd give you 2 likes for that one. That's a truck.
  12. I'm glad to see that new has a round fuel tank. New ones I see around here have ugly square Volvo tanks
  13. My opinion only is I don't like it center on top of the dash for 2 reasons. - it just kinda seams cluttered & in the way to me, but I sit low in the seat and not aired up to the roof. - when its there everyone can see it. Not a big deal with a $100 radio but spend $500 on one and you don't want everyone seeing it as they walk by. Out of sight, out of mind. I've seen them mounted on the side of the passenger side seat base towards the shifters facing up & down. Also under the dash in front of the shifters.
  14. Prob gonna have Target as a sponser for the show too. There gonna be tearing one of the buildings down so a Target can build a new store. Then the "customers" will complain about the noise from the trains. Next thing we know no more steamers and electric trains will take over.
  15. Also saw a bunch of old tractors sitting around that not 1 word was ever mentioned.
  16. My dad used howes for years. He noticed 1-2 tenths increase in mpg when using it. He has a signature 600 cummins and the last while(could be a year or two) has been getting a black snotty gunk in his fuel filters/screens. Howes wouldn't do anything to it. He tried hotshot secret and in a few fill ups the gunk is gone. He gets his fuel at the same 2 or 3 spots all the time.
  17. No help here, but some questions. Is a cb used in your part of the world? Is it the same as an American cb? I'm not being an ass, just never traveled anywhere.
  18. But remember to be old and wise you must first be young and stupid.
  19. You should have put a stepladder in the basket to climb for the extra height.
  20. My patents had a trailblazer and yes it ran pretty good. The tranny seamed pretty lame for the motor though.
  21. Another rv. I saw this one at Gerharts show the other week.
  22. I always thought an old airstream would mount up behind a B model cab pretty nice.
