  1. Used the truck this weekend for the first real time. Hauled 2 loads of tractors on my gooseneck to one of our local shows. Truck worked perfect. After we finished the tractor pulls ( I think last class was 12,500# tractors) they left me play. Again lots of chears and camer flashes and truck worked great.
  2. I read on here somewhere a guy machined a bushing of some type out of a rubber mallet.
  3. Almost looks like one of our freightliner dash's with the dummy lights on.
  4. I gave my rack 1 flat past 1/2 a turn. It has no smoke starting out until 1600 rpm and up. Then it gives a nice dark grey haze out each stack. There was a bunch of stuff on my trk done lets just say not right when I got it. The seal on the back of the pump was broke and twisted back together when i went in to adjust. Makes me wonder if maybe someone went the wrong way before me?
  5. Ok thanks. It always starts right up.
  6. The more I think about it I think the name on the door was Whitebread from Sugarloaf, Pa
  7. is this the valve that is screwed into the side of my pump, and has return lines that controls my fuel pressure? I have almost no smoke until around 1600rpm's and up. Then it's n nice dark grey/black smoke haze coming out the tops of stacks. I don't think I have enough pressure at lower rpm like a valve is stuck. I talked to a local pump guy and he said I want about 28psi, but I ran out of time to go into details with him. If this is it how does it come apart, and how do I clean it?
  8. I wish I would have stayed in mom basement. If I wouldn't have my mortage payment I'd be set for buying toys.
  9. Wheat to a local chrome shop's truck show today. It's mostly a KW show but there was some others. A real nice stretched out blue marmon, a green R model, a trans-con u model with a set of pups and a B model wrecker. It's the first I've seen this one. Looked like a neat truck several put together by the looks of it. Sorry kids only took 4 pics of the B.
  10. Yes be very careful driving a chisel in to spread it. Local guy told me he has a puller type thing that you tighten and it drives a wedge in to spead it open a little. ( I haven't seen it). He had a chisel hit him in the hmmmm "nuts" and he bought this thing. Its Prob. snapon.
  11. I finally started the part I've been putting off. I bent up a bracket and mounted fuse panel, made a panel for switches, and sat in the passenger seat staring at it for awhile.
  12. I just drill a 5/16" pilot hole with a regular 3/8" electric hand held drill. Then I use the reamer in a 1/2" hand held electric drill just like a drill bit but works easier and last longer. Just squirt a little lube of your choice and that's it. I have a 1/2 & 5/8 reams good quality worth their price. I have a 3/4" from ebay and its junk.
  13. I thought about a push pull cylinder from the passenger side of a dump with the heavier axle. Just wasn't sure how to power it.
  14. I can live with what I have. Just stumbled across this truck and read where people say use a R box and column that's all. Figured I'd look into it.
  15. Just courious that's all. Around here all you see is tri-axles and they are liecenesed at 73280. With both your lift axles it dosent look like you would have much of the load transferred to the front axle.
  16. This R has the box mounted in front if the axle right behind radiator. Where you trying to mount under the cab in the stock B location? I also read about using a ford box and all the ones I looked at had the straight rails and the box was mounted outside the frame.
  17. Just wondering what kinda weight you run on the steering axle when loaded with a setup like that?
  18. Is that a snow plow mount built on the front axle that they have clevises hanging on?
  19. Ill try and run out there Monday. Not much on my trk is bolt on. The R has the pump on the back of air compressor. I don't think I have room for that my starter is there, and motor is tilted that way on b-67. Was thinking belt drive pump above alternator. I read where people on here said about using R model column and box on a B. just curious. They also have a 4300 IH transtar with 318 and air start setup. Is there many diff air starters or are they all the same?
  20. Scrapper buddies got this R in. It has power steering with the steering box mounted inside the frame up by the radiator. Is this the setup people use to switch a B over?
  21. I wasn't alive at this time, but I'd like to say thank you to you and everyone else the help make this country where I want to live.
  22. I've had red hair all my life. Over the years it has gotten darker. I'm told that happens before it turns white. But the last time I got my pistol permit the sheriffs department crossed the red off and changed it to brown???? (Clearly you will get a different answer with everyone you ask.) That's the best answer right there
  23. $10,500 sticks in my head, but that could have been something else too.
  24. I think it had 24" big rubber on it.
