  1. Found some nice seats at my friends junk yard today 90 dollars for the pair I'm going to take them off their base and bolt them to my air ride seat pedestals and use them in the RS.
  2. These warm days were perfect for installing my new door panels and back piece in my old RS I made a couple of kick panel pieces today to cover the pillar between the door and cowl area. I'm still on the stump about the headliner it had the old plastic one piece in it I want to go with the more modern two piece with the console on the ceiling. Problem with the two piece being an older cab the mounting brackets the console screws into are not there. I could take a spot weld cutter and take the ones from the old superliner cab and pop rivet them to the inside of the cab but that means drilling more holes in the roof of the cab.
  3. I don't have those problems I'm going to be laid off until sometime in march which is nice being able to work on what ever I want to.
  4. Those stainless bands are nice the mushroom top not so nice they blind you when the sun catches them just right.
  5. I live a mile from the yard I come back after dinner and wash my truck the golden boys are done washing their trucks and I can sit a while and BS with the second shift mechanics.
  6. It was probably army green at one time because it was a military aircraft fueler the fire department that got it after that repainted it red.

  8. https://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/aucitsrh/?sl=41QSCI17263010 Not mine but for auction on the GSA they have quite a few of these military tankers go for sale usually in great shape for the money. There is another up for auction on the GSA in north Dakota still has the tank on it has a beige rubber steering wheel like the 87-early 90s black one I have not seen many of those.
  9. These engines require a very expensive oil blend to deal with the high operating heat we learned a lot about these with my friend having one in his garage. The 240 naturally aspirated cummins in the 800 series military truck was taken out and replaced with a turbo charged 290 adiabatic.
  10. A friend of mine bought one of these experimental five ton 813 military trucks through a GSA auction he has since sold it to a collector in Illinois.
  11. They give us a few hours a week to wash the truck if we have a wet week I have done it on my own time just a matter of pride in something you drive the more it stays looking like this the better I like it.
  12. I have a good used set of old style 70s style beige door panels from my RS for sale if someone needs them I made new interiors for my trucks.
  13. With these being manufactured one would think the availability of new sets of heads may be a reality too.
  14. Saw this on the GSA looked like it had a few years under her belt would probably look good hooked to a single axle B model.https://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/aucitsrh/?sl=A1QSCI17028502
  15. Looks like someone dumped a garbage can in front of the passenger seat.
  16. Spent the late fall hauling from coral lakes and saw those trucks come in and out all day they do have a bunch of them and not one clean one they must not give them the time to wash them what a shame.
  17. Probably for some kind of boat.
  18. Looks like the sudden drop in speed run the load up to the head of the trailer they must be self insured I couldn't imagine a insurance company taking that many hits unless they have the same one harrys motor service had..
  19. They call that progress I have another word for it but that's life in our modern times.
  20. I worked at the C&NW that's why I didn't stay politics especially when they got bought out.

  23. Doesn't look like the trailer has lights the four ways are working on the first trailer maybe a broken air line has the brakes locked up. Didn't know it was a set of doubles until the last part of the video.
  24. Looks like just another fun day in Alaska.
  25. Another tip spray the tank down with brake cleaner and wipe off it takes all the black aluminum oxide out of the pits and will lighten the aluminum up a bit then use a good car wax to seal it up.
