  1. Hauled sand to the plant all day yesterday eight loads Chas. Hager fleet was running hard yesterday they have a really nice red superliner seen it running most of the day yesterday.
  2. Success welded a narrow bead the length of the race down the center and they came right out.
  3. The oven trick is not an option the kitchen oven is the only one we have looks like I will try to weld them a little at a time.
  4. I am putting new bearings and races in the hubs on the superliner these hubs are aluminum. I cannot get the old races to budge using a bearing race punch usually when this happens in steel hubs I run a weld bead on the inside of the race and let them cool then they become easy to remove. Can I do this with the hubs being aluminum I would run maybe three or four half inch long beads in the races and see how they react I don't want to possibly stretch the aluminum then the races wont fit tight when they cool any thoughts on this?
  5. Mike Im going to be swapping out the reyco suspension on the superliner for camelback are you interested in the eaton axles with budd hubs and the suspension set up? Im willing to work out a trade deal if you want I need a good dash console for the new cab the dash that was in it is cracked and has a crapload of holes drilled in it. I can deliver the suspension if you interested and remove the dash myself if you have one to trade, Kevin

I really don't have any use right now for those rears, thanks for the offer. If you get down this way,I do have one Superliner I been scavenging parts from, you can see if the dash is better than yours and we could work out some other deal.

  6. Yeah kind of cut its nuts off by taking the bulldog off the hood in my opinion.
  7. I couldn't imagine what that guy has into that paint job.
  8. Had to leave the truck and trailer at allens corner the shop crew will go out there tomorrow and get it fixed the bearing going out dropped the drum down far enough to drag on the lower shoe the smoke alerted me to the problem.
  9. Hauled gravel to the pipe plant all day with my regular truck then lost a wheel bearing on the trailer on the way home with the last load.
  10. Still working in the concrete yard I think the gravel crew are going to start back to hauling Monday. There is a good side to working in the crushing yard though I did manage to save three of these little beauties that came in with a load of concrete. They are really ornate they weigh about 40 pounds each they are scroll designs on the sides not pictured. You can see all the intricate carving work that was in the hand made wooden molds these were cast from. Last year I saved some five foot sticks of rail iron dated 1884 nothing ever ran on them except steam locomotives kind of cool to think about. I saved enough new pavers that came in one day two years ago to hire a guy to build me two patios and sidewalks around the entire house and one to the shop.
  11. Got it all welded up ground a 3/16 inch deep vee into the crack drilled both ends and welded it up.
  12. I hauled 10 loads of 3 inch crushed concrete yesterday back in the backhoe today.
  13. Larry I still have that elbow your looking for if you want it whats it worth to you?

I'm just curious as to the alum tube part.  I'm not sure the R model will be long enough to get back to the firewall to attach to a B model.  If not, then I might as well just get my own flexible tubing and attach it.  I've seen other B models do the same kind of thing.   So if you can get me a basic length of long the tube is, from the 180* bend.

      Thanks.

No problem.  I can't work on it til this Sunday anyhow.  Too much going on.

  14. Larry I still have the elbow that comes off the turbo from that parts 237 sitting here.
  15. Most of the time twisting works I have one that still pops occasionally.
  16. There will be hell to pay when most people who would for Trump figure out their votes don't count because they didn't vote for the establishment candidate.
  17. I never paid attention to cost which was minimal the time on the other hand was what would have cost me if I had to do it for someone else.
  18. I bought the thing without the carriers because I already had a set here so he had to know the thing was cracked when he took them off then I spent the next hour breaking up and vacuuming all the dirt out of the trunnion stand. I can see how those trunnion stands rust so bad its a design flaw to leave them open the way they are they fill up with dirt and crap rusting them from the inside out I checked these they are still solid.
  19. I bought a camel back cutoff a while back go around to working on it today and found a crack in the front axle housing. They must have tried welding it up with the carrier still on it there was the typical bubba booger three pass weld on the top no penetration just sat on the top lots of porosity. The crack extends half way down both sides they never attempted to weld that which tells me it wasn't there at the time they welded the top up. Its all accessable now so looks like a lot of grinding and prep work tomorrow.
  20. Heres some pics from today I was called back to work for the year not much trucking so I get to work in the yard making big pieces of concrete into small ones. This is the reason I learned to run anything they could put me into all but one of the gravel fleet is still off for the time being. Running the 8000 pound breaker is an easy warm job its attached to a komatsu PC 400 not a bad machine considering its age but just glad to be back to work by the way that roll off box of steel is just from todays running.
  21. South east iowa is all trees and hills that's the main reason I bought land there.
  22. Your frame will crack along the edge of your new plate without tapering the ends of your new plate.
  23. You may want to bring that plate to a point at the ends or the frame twist will crack it again at the ends of the plate..
  24. Got mine off ebay made by PAI.
  25. You get three wheels and three bricks of compound yellow, green and white.
